Cultivation: I Have a Golden Talisman
Chapter 505 20: Resentment Demon Monarch
Inside the Celestial Escape Shuttle.
Fang Cheng didn't dwell on the matter of the Demon Cultivator. Instead, he said in a low voice, "If we keep trying our luck like this, how long will it take to find the Red Profound Order? If someone else gets it first, all our efforts will be for naught."
He now understood the situation inside the Feathered Immortal Tree and was more determined than ever to obtain the Red Profound Order. He needed a foolproof plan. If they continued searching blindly, even with Yun Qiuyuan's Qi Observation Secret Technique making it easier for them to find the fruits than others, there was no guarantee they would be the ones to get the Red Profound Order.
Yun Qiuyuan toyed with the Cracked Compass in her hands and said slowly, "The Red Profound Order is unlike other treasures. If another Cultivator gets it, an extraordinary treasure aura is bound to erupt the moment it emerges from the fruit. When that happens, we'll need to lock onto it quickly and give chase."
Of course, the best method was still to find it themselves before any other Cultivators did.
Fang Cheng nodded. "I have a way to speed up our search. Let's give it a try."
With that, he explained his plan to Yun Qiuyuan.
The shuttle continued onward through the sea of leaves, and soon, Yun Qiuyuan locked onto another treasure aura.
This time, the shuttle didn't head over. Instead, a jet-black Demonic Light surged from it, carrying a Skeleton Celestial Demon, which shot off into the distance.
Fang Cheng possessed nine Resentment Celestial Demon Incarnations, and now he finally had a use for them.
The Ruyi Celestial Escape Shuttle changed direction and continued deeper. Before long, another Resentment Celestial Demon flew out from it.
「An hour later.」
All nine Resentment Celestial Demons had been dispatched. They purposefully searched for Feathered Immortal Fruits and brought them back one by one.
The Ruyi Celestial Escape Shuttle traveled through the sea of leaves, acting as a hub for the nine Resentment Celestial Demons to come and go, plundering treasures on a massive scale.
With this method, their treasure-hunting speed increased exponentially.
During their search, if they encountered any Life Soul Cultivators, the Resentment Celestial Demons would easily seize the treasures and depart without a trace.
If they encountered Dharma Cultivators, a fierce battle would ensue.
If an incarnation won, all was well. If one was losing, Fang Cheng would personally leave the shuttle and rush over at incredible speed to deal with the opponent himself.
Along the way, they obtained thirteen Immortal Fruits. Most contained Tier Three Spirit Pills and Magical Artifacts, along with two Fourth-rank Talismans—nothing particularly valuable.
Even a sea of leaves as vast as this couldn't withstand such a thorough sweep. Soon, Fang Cheng and his two companions had crossed the entire massive canopy of the Feathered Immortal Tree from west to east.
Then, they turned and plunged back into the depths of the canopy, this time traveling from southeast to northwest.
Fang Cheng challenged numerous Cultivators with his sword, earning the moniker "Resentment Demon Monarch." Aside from a few Dharma Masters who managed to escape from him unscathed, all others were defeated. Some fights escalated, and when his opponents showed killing intent, Fang Cheng cut them down without mercy.
The other Cultivators couldn't understand why this Resentment Demon Monarch was so frantically searching for Immortal Fruits. To a titan of the Demon Dao like him, many of the treasures inside were completely worthless.
After searching for some time, Fang Cheng found that the treasures in the canopy could be roughly divided into three categories.
The first category was the most valuable: genuine Fourth-rank Magical Artifacts, puppets, and Cultivation Technique inheritances.
For Cultivators from humble backgrounds who had reached the Dharma Realm, these treasures were often a life-changing opportunity.
The second category included Tier Four Spirit Pills and Talismans. They were highly effective but mostly single-use items. For many Life Soul Cultivators, they were an incredibly rare trump card.
The third category consisted of various third-rank treasures. These held almost no appeal for Dharma Cultivators and would, at best, be saved for their juniors.
Yet, this third category was also the most common.
Just as Fang Cheng was about to complete his second sweep across the Feathered Immortal Tree's canopy, one of his Resentment Celestial Demon Incarnations was ambushed the moment it picked an Immortal Fruit. It was instantly dispersed into a ball of Demonic Light.
Fang Cheng's true self happened to be nearby. A streak of sword light shot across the sea of leaves, arriving in an instant.
As the treasure-snatcher's figure came into view, he couldn't help but sneer.
The man wore a black robe with large, flowing sleeves. He had the appearance of a young man, his face filled with a sinister air.
The man had just plucked the Immortal Fruit and hadn't yet had time to refine it when a shimmering golden rope descended from the sky, binding him on the spot. For a moment, his vast Magical Power was completely sealed.
The next moment, a familiar, sharp streak of sword light descended, wrapping around his neck and severing his head.
The youth instantly dissolved into a cloud of Demonic Qi and dispersed.
The sword light swept the Immortal Fruit back to Fang Cheng. He refined it, but let out a soft sigh.
Inside the fruit was an ancient zither. Although it was a Fourth-rank Magical Artifact with many wonderful uses, Fang Cheng's face was filled with disappointment.
He looked toward the spot where the sinister youth had dispersed. The Resentment Demon Bead in his Qi Sea trembled slightly, and another Li Hen Demon Light shot out. It circled once in the air before manifesting into the form of a Resentment Celestial Demon.
In the blink of an eye, this Resentment Celestial Demon flew back toward the Ruyi Celestial Escape Shuttle.
Fang Cheng turned his head to the side and said coolly, "And who might you be?"
A light chuckle echoed from the sea of leaves as a figure emerged leisurely. It was, once again, the sinister-looking young man.
"So you're the Resentment Demon Monarch!" The young man looked at Fang Cheng, his eyes a mix of apprehension and defiance. "I am Rama. I originally thought you were Yan Zongdao from the Jade Emperor Sect. It seems I was mistaken."
He had barely finished speaking when his vision was completely filled by a brilliant flash of sword light. He had no time to resist before he was sliced in two.
The youth's eyes went wide as his body once again burst into a cloud of Demonic Qi and vanished. It was clearly another Demon Dao incarnation.
With an impassive expression, Fang Cheng recalled his Flying Sword and Immortal Binding Rope, then turned and flew away.
...
「Deep within the sea of leaves.」
Three towering members of the Ancient Evil Race were jointly channeling their power into a Treasure Umbrella that blazed with brilliant light, using it to protect themselves.
These members of the Ancient Evil Race were all at the fourth rank, possessing immense Magical Power, yet they were currently on the defensive.
Then, a figure let out a great laugh, transformed into a streak of black light, and slammed into the Treasure Umbrella, which was blazing with towering flames.
Like a falling meteor, he split into thirty-three small black mountains in mid-air. Carrying immense weight and a sound like rolling thunder, they crashed down hard upon the Treasure Umbrella!
BOOM!
An earth-shattering bang echoed through the void.
An invisible shockwave swept through the air, and a ring of fierce wind blasted outward!
The Treasure Umbrella buckled and dented under the impact before shattering in an instant.
The thirty-three Demon Mountains went on a rampage, charging wildly toward the three towering members of the Ancient Evil Race.
The powerful seal techniques unleashed by the Ancient Evil Race clashed relentlessly with the Demon Mountains.
After just a few exchanges, the Protective Spiritual Light of the three Ancient Evil Race members was shattered.
"Mara, do you really intend to make an enemy of our Ancient Evil Race?"
one of the Ancient Evil Race members exclaimed, his voice a mixture of shock and fury.
He had barely finished speaking before a Demon Mountain smashed his body to pieces.
The other two members of the Ancient Evil Race did not escape their fate either and were killed on the spot.
A moment later, the thirty-three Demon Mountains converged, re-forming into the figure of the sinister-looking young man.
He stood there in his wide-sleeved robe, exuding a profound demonic aura. Turning his head to look into the distance, he muttered to himself, 'I didn't expect to find a master of this caliber in the Mingxiao Domain, aside from Yan Zongdao and Pei Juxian.'
'Once I find the Red Profound Order, I'll be sure to pay you a proper visit!'
