Cultivation: I Have a Golden Talisman

Chapter 486 - 5: The Mysterious Girl

Fang Cheng’s confusion deepened.

The young woman withdrew her gaze from Fang Cheng, pursed her lips, and said with a hint of disappointment, "So you’re a Demon Cultivator."

As she spoke, she casually slipped off her cyan robe, revealing the tight-fitting black leather armor underneath.

Her figure was graceful and slender, with long, well-proportioned legs. A casual glance from the side revealed an almost impossibly thin waist, which further accentuated her pert, full breasts and firm, rounded buttocks.

"Whether I am a Demon Cultivator or not is unimportant. What’s important is that I can kill for you," Fang Cheng said coolly.

The young woman’s skin was snow-white, her features delicate and pretty. She was truly a rare beauty in the making, radiating a vibrant, youthful aura.

She gave a slight nod. "True. Although I detest Demon Cultivators, not all of them are evil."

Her expression turned serious as she continued, "Tomorrow at 1:45 PM, I will have someone take the Immortal Copper Treasure Box out of the market city to trade with that Nangong Chilong. When that happens, a group from the Ancient Evil Race will appear to seize the treasure. When they and Nangong Chilong are fighting to the death, you will strike and ambush him."

Fang Cheng mulled it over for a moment. "Your plan isn’t bad, but things are more complicated than you think. Right now, besides the Ancient Evil Race, Yinglong True Monarch of Red Bright Immortal City is also in the market city with three Dharma Masters. Moreover, they have a Tracking Talisman. The moment the Immortal Copper Treasure Box leaves the city, they will detect it."

The young woman’s beautiful face changed. "How do you know this?"

Fang Cheng chuckled. "It’s quite a coincidence. I was originally one of the helpers Yinglong True Monarch recruited..."

He then explained Xi Yinglong’s plan to ambush the Ancient Evil Race.

After listening, the young woman furrowed her brow in thought for a moment. "I have a way to conceal the mark on the Treasure Box, but I only have a limited time, which is why I set up this plan. Now that another faction has joined the fray... can you handle it?"

Fang Cheng calmly replied, "If it’s just a matter of killing Nangong Chilong, it shouldn’t be much of a problem. If we add seizing the Treasure Box to the list, there will be some risks."

The young woman curled her lip, thinking, ’What arrogance.’

However, she possessed a peerless Qi Observation Secret Technique. The first time she laid eyes on Fang Cheng, she had seen the terrifying, heart-stopping Evil Qi emanating from him. She knew he must have slaughtered countless Cultivators, Demon Beasts, and Celestial Demons of the same rank to possess such an aura.

In Fang Cheng’s eyes, this woman was mysterious and unpredictable. And in her eyes, was he not the same?

Fang Cheng thought for a moment, then added, "If you can lend me the treasure you used to disguise yourself just now, I’ll be ninety percent certain I can kill him, seize the treasure, and escape safely."

If he could completely conceal his presence, he could go all out without holding back, greatly increasing his chances of success.

The young woman shot him a sideways glance and asked dubiously, "You aren’t trying to trick me out of my treasure, are you?"

Fang Cheng’s expression hardened. "I am a dignified Dharma Demon Monarch. Why would I trick some slip of a girl like you?"

The young woman snorted. Her almond-shaped eyes darted about before she reluctantly took out a jade-green bead the size of a goose egg.

The bead was smooth and round, its surface covered in countless fine lines of silver script. From time to time, it would emit thousands of needle-like threads of colorful light.

A Fifth-rank Magical Artifact, the Ten Thousand Transformations Bead.

With a flick of her fair hand, she tossed the Treasure Bead to Fang Cheng. "This bead can transform you into the likeness of anyone you have seen. You just need to visualize them."

Fang Cheng caught the Treasure Bead, marveling inwardly. He did as she said and visualized Xi Yinglong in his Sea of Consciousness.

The next moment, the Treasure Bead flared with a brilliant light. Fang Cheng’s body, appearance, and aura instantly changed into those of Xi Yinglong.

He waved his sleeve, sending out a stream of light that formed into a water mirror. He observed himself and, indeed, could not find a single flaw.

"A fine treasure," Fang Cheng praised. He retracted the Divine Techniques and looked at the young woman with a puzzled expression. "Since you possess such a treasure, your background must be extraordinary. Why go to such lengths to have that Nangong Chilong killed?"

The young woman’s eyelids drooped. "After you help me get my revenge," she said softly, "I will tell you everything about myself."

Fang Cheng could sense that she had let her guard down completely in her words. It was as if killing Nangong Chilong would make her life complete, and nothing else mattered.

...

「The next day.」

The two of them left the market city. Fang Cheng summoned his Escape Light and flew east with the young woman, traveling ten thousand li from the city.

He used the Void God Gu to conceal their presence, and they landed silently on a mountaintop.

On the mountainside was an enormous rock shaped like an elephant’s trunk, making it very conspicuous.

The two of them did not wait long before a piercing radiance flashed across the horizon. The light then receded, revealing a figure.

The newcomer was a tall, imposing, splendidly-dressed old man with frosty brows and white temples.

He descended from his Escape Light, landed on the giant elephant-trunk rock, and sat down cross-legged. He began to regulate his breathing and enter a meditative state, as if waiting for someone.

On the peak, hidden within the Void Divine Sand, Fang Cheng clearly felt the slender back of the young woman beside him stiffen and tremble slightly.

’A subconscious reaction to seeing her mortal enemy...’ Fang Cheng mused.

The two waited patiently. After about the time it takes to drink a cup of tea, rosy light flickered in the distant sky, and a giant, golden-feathered bird flew toward them, beating its wings.

On the bird’s back stood a tall and imposing man with his hands clasped behind him. He had a rather extraordinary air, but his Cultivation was a bit lacking, only at the Mid-stage Life Talisman Realm.

Only when the giant golden-feathered bird drew near did the tall and imposing man notice the splendidly-dressed old man on the elephant-trunk rock.

His expression shifted slightly. He swept his Divine Sense over the old man and found his aura to be unfathomably deep and as majestic as a mountain, far surpassing his own. He was both shocked and angry, thinking: ’Wasn’t the person coming for the trade supposed to be at the Early Life Talisman Stage? Why is it an expert of this caliber?’

He frowned, communicated his intent to the giant golden-feathered bird, and was about to turn back and leave.

The splendidly-dressed old man sneered, shot up, and transformed into a streak of brilliant light, rushing up to intercept him.

With a flash of light, the tall and imposing man was grabbed by the back of his collar by the old man, who then returned to the giant rock.

The giant golden bird, wreathed in rosy light, beat its wings and flew away, seemingly unaware that its master had been captured.

The pressure of a Late Dharma Stage expert bore down heavily, forcing the tall and imposing man to his knees. He hastily cried out, "Senior, spare me!"

"Who are you, and why have you come here?" the splendidly-dressed old man asked coolly.

The tall man hurriedly replied, "I am Gongsun Yun. I came here to trade with someone. I had no intention of offending you, Senior. I beg your forgiveness."

The splendidly-dressed old man sneered. "So, a disciple of the Gongsun Family. For the sake of the Tripod Furnaces your clan offers me each year, I will spare your life for now. Tell me, who did you come here to trade with, and what are you trading?"

The tall man seemed to have guessed the old man’s identity. He trembled, swallowed hard, and said in a dry, hoarse voice, "The person I’m trading with is supposed to be an Early Life Talisman Stage Loose Cultivator. I was also entrusted by someone to sell this item to that person."

As he spoke, the man took out a jade box covered in Talismans and presented it with both hands.

The splendidly-dressed old man took the jade box. With a powerful squeeze of his large hand, the box flashed with light and was instantly crushed, revealing a small copper box, about an inch in size.

He picked up the Immortal Copper Treasure Box and examined it closely. A look of joy appeared on his face, but it was quickly replaced by a frown. "That’s not right. The person told me I would be trading with an Early-stage Dharma Phase Cultivator. Why is it you?"

The tall man stood frozen on the spot, not knowing how to respond.

The splendidly-dressed old man’s gaze swept over the surroundings as he sneered, "It seems someone is trying to plot against me. I’d like to see just who dares to act so presumptuously on Yin Yang Sect’s territory."

With that, his figure shot into the sky, heading back toward the Yin Yang Sect.

He made it sound easy, but his actions were extremely cautious and vigilant. He didn’t dare to linger for a moment, making a beeline straight for his sect.

As long as he returned to the sect, he would have nothing to fear from anyone in the world.

At that very moment, an expanse of cold light surged forth like a tide in the distant sky, blocking the splendidly-dressed old man’s path.

It was, in fact, the Ancient Evil Race.

At the same time, a golden light flashed in the opposite sky. A massive, golden, multi-storied ship flew over. Onboard were four hazy figures whose auras were powerful and vast, and they too had locked onto Nangong Chilong.

It was Xi Yinglong and his group.

Nangong Chilong was caught between the two groups of experts. His expression changed, and the Immortal Copper Treasure Box in his hand suddenly felt like a hot potato.
