Cultivation: Grinding Proficiency for Longevity
Chapter 126: I’m Very Curious How You Found Out?
Chapter 126: Chapter 126: I’m Very Curious How You Found Out?
The three Cyan Eagle Crying Blood Marks on Yu Haoyong’s right hand gradually fused, and the dense, bloody light blurred his face, obscuring the tears that slowly fell.
"Submit or die..."
Yu Haoyong staggered toward the spot where the Guards and Loose Cultivators were clustered. His condition was poor, but everyone slowly bowed their heads.
Of all the Princes eligible to participate in the trial, only Yu Haoyong remained alive. He was the Crown Prince of the Black Feather Dynasty, and also its next king.
Yu Haoyong’s gaze fell upon the six Guards, then swept over the surrounding Loose Cultivators. He said nothing and stepped straight into the Dragon Head Hall.
Once his figure disappeared from sight, two of the Guards who had been with Yu Haoyong from the start exchanged a look and immediately killed the two nearest Loose Cultivators.
The four Guards who had originally belonged to the Fourth and Fifth Princes were stunned for a moment, but they quickly came to their senses and moved toward the Loose Cultivators, who had begun to scatter and flee.
In the center of the great hall, Yu Haoyong sat cross-legged and slowly closed his eyes, beginning his Cultivation to heal his wounds.
CRACK~
Two hours later, a crisp sound came from Yu Haoyong’s left arm. He opened his eyes in a daze; the speed of his healing was somewhat beyond his imagination. Yu Haoyong looked down at the merged Cyan Eagle Crying Blood Mark on his right hand. This was the only thing different about him from before.
With this question in mind, Yu Haoyong once again circulated his Cultivation Technique to heal. This time, he clearly sensed that the Cyan Eagle Crying Blood Mark on his right hand would gradually merge into the Cyan Eagle Spirit Pattern he’d cultivated in the Body Tempering Realm as he continued his practice.
’So that’s how it is. This was the design from the very beginning—a competition where we were pitted against each other like venomous insects in a jar. The victor walks over the blood of his brothers to become a true prodigy.’
Yu Haoyong’s eyes narrowed. He finally understood why no one was ever willing to mention the uncles who had once competed with his father, the Black Feather King. The Black Feather Royal Family had always used this method to cultivate its next heir. He wasn’t the first, and he wouldn’t be the last.
Thanks to the aid of the Cyan Eagle Crying Blood Mark, Yu Haoyong had returned to his peak condition four hours later. After tidying himself up, he slowly walked out of the great hall.
The six Guards were on either side of the hall, quietly healing their wounds. As he emerged, they all hurriedly rose to their feet.
"You, go trade for Spiritual Cuisine at the pillar of light. And you, send a message to Nangong Ye. Tell him to come find me if he wants to remove his Cyan Eagle Crying Blood Mark."
Yu Haoyong picked the two Guards in the best condition for the tasks and had the others continue to heal.
"As you command, Your Highness."
The two Guards slowly departed. Yu Haoyong watched their backs, his thoughts unreadable.
-----------------
Early in the morning, as he finished sealing fifteen portions of Spiritual Cuisine, Liu Chen felt his old understanding of the Solid Spirit Technique begin to break down and re-form. In this state, his comprehension of the technique deepened.
[Solid Spirit Technique: Perfection, 0/10000]
A brand-new Proficiency prompt appeared. Liu Chen shook his head with a wry smile. The Magic for preserving Spiritual Cuisine had already reached Perfection. If he could keep selling this much every day, the Magic might even evolve into something unique to him before the end of the trial.
’A Perfection-level Solid Spirit Technique can preserve Spiritual Cuisine for a full day. Beyond that, it can also preserve some Heavenly and Earthly Treasures, or Spiritual Power imprints like the Cyan Eagle Crying Blood.’
Liu Chen couldn’t help but shake his head. The Solid Spirit Technique was a huge help in selling Spiritual Cuisine, but aside from that, the only other thing he’d used it for in this trial was to preserve one stalk of Red Bamboo. As for any other wild resources in Fire Dragon Valley, they had long since been picked clean by the Loose Cultivators.
After breakfast, his two senior brothers went out again to sell Spiritual Cuisine. This time, Purple Cloud Valley only took five portions on credit.
Four portions were bought with Spirit Stones by Qingxu Hall and Thunder Mountain. The remaining six were traded using a pillar of light. Thanks to these trades, six disciples from Purple Cloud Valley had tagged along to activate the pillar.
"For the disciples who go to activate the pillar of light, charge them one thousand Spirit Stones each time. If they just borrow the Token, charge five hundred."
After listening to his two senior brothers’ report, Liu Chen spoke slowly to Senior Brother Ren. The Spiritual Cuisine trade wouldn’t last much longer; it was best to get the accounts straight first.
"Thank you, Junior Brother."
Ren Xunchun thanked him. This was undoubtedly good news for the Purple Cloud Valley disciples, and it was especially important for him. After all, the person with the largest tab was none other than himself, the one in charge of keeping the accounts.
"The Black Feather Dynasty’s Guards seem to be injured."
Yang Haichen recalled the Guard he had just seen. The man’s condition was clearly off. But what puzzled Yang Haichen most was that everyone else had reacted with stunned surprise.
This proved it wasn’t the work of the Three Immortal Sects, nor the various great families, and certainly not the Loose Cultivators. By process of elimination, there was a ninety-percent probability it was an internal battle within the Black Feather Dynasty.
"A Meridian Passage Realm expert can get injured in Fire Dragon Valley?"
Liu Chen shook his head and went back to his room, unconcerned. Seeing this, Yang Haichen couldn’t help but glance at Ren Xunchun. Junior Brother Liu never paid attention to these matters, which was perfectly fine.
"I’m half a cripple right now. If you want to go fishing for information, Junior Brother, feel free to go outside. I’m sure someone will be happy to chat with you."
Ren Xunchun shook his head and returned to his own room. Yang Haichen’s mouth twitched. In the end, he decided against going to discuss the matter with the other Purple Cloud Valley disciples. After all, here in the courtyard, he had one junior brother in the Body Tempering Early Stage and one senior brother who was half-dead.
If something were to really happen, he would regret it for the rest of his life.
-----------------
Xie Xichen followed the Black Feather Dynasty Guard to the rim of the volcano’s crater.
He glanced around but saw no pillar of light. Just as he was feeling bewildered, the Guard beside him jumped straight into the lava.
Xie Xichen hesitated for a moment, then briefly tested his own theory before dropping into the lava as well.
"To think there’s a whole other world beneath the lava. I’m very curious, how did you discover this place?"
Xie Xichen landed beside Yu Haoyong, curiously studying his surroundings. If he hadn’t seen it with his own eyes, he never would have believed the layer of lava above was merely an illusion.
"Are you sure you want to know?"
Yu Haoyong shot him a look. He had only discovered this place after being thrown into the crater. It wasn’t exactly a glorious tale to tell, especially the part about being thrown in by his own brother.
"Never mind. Where’s the pillar of light?"
Xie Xichen shook his head. Ordinarily, he might have been interested, but this was obviously a hidden area, meaning a single pillar of light would be worth many slots. The priority was to complete the transaction first.
"It’s in the great hall. This pillar of light is quite strange. I can’t shake the feeling that I got the short end of the stick."
Yu Haoyong walked toward the great hall within the dragon’s head. Xie Xichen followed, taking in the scenery.
Stepping into the great hall, a strange pillar of light came into view. Xie Xichen glanced at Yu Haoyong, and after receiving a nod of confirmation, tossed Liu Chen’s Token directly into the pillar. The Spirit Stones drifting high above Fire Dragon Valley were instantly drawn toward it, and the pillar began to activate.
"What treasures are in here?"
As the pillar of light gradually activated, Xie Xichen’s gaze fell upon a stone platform shaped like a dragon’s head behind it. It went without saying that the Black Feather Dynasty had surely cleared out anything of value here already.
"If I said I didn’t know, would you believe me?"
Yu Haoyong turned his head to look at him. He truly didn’t know what treasures the place held. Even if there had been something good, it would have been taken by that Loose Cultivator who had been concealing his identity.
