Cultivation Begins with Caring for Sister-in-law

Chapter 1031 - 140: Huang Su: I Will Surely Repay You

  • Next Chapter

Seeing the coldness in Huang Su's eyes, Chen Mo frowned as well and whispered, "You don't intend to kill me to silence the witness, do you?"

With her clear eyes fixed on Chen Mo, Huang Su remained cold. However, when her gaze swept over the man's robe on her, beneath that coldness, there was a faint ripple. After a moment, she turned her head and said, "I can't do something as ungrateful as that, nor am I that pedantic."

She noticed the guardian sand on her wrist hadn't dissipated, knowing her Primordial Yin was still intact, but it didn't represent her innocence. Being without a single thread on her body meant Chen Mo had seen everything. She no longer felt pure.

After all, she was an unmarried maiden and still valued her purity highly. Although she said she wouldn't do something ungrateful, she couldn't bring herself to show kindness to Chen Mo or get close to him.

"That's good." Chen Mo hadn't expected any repayment from her, but there was something he still needed to mention: "When I was healing you, I called you repeatedly, but you wouldn't wake up, so... ahem, given how seriously you were injured, you should understand."

"I will repay you." Huang Su turned her head to look at the young man.

"Huh?" Chen Mo was taken aback.

"However, I... hope you can promise me one thing." With a weakened voice, Huang Su spoke slowly.

"What is it?"

"Regarding the healing, I hope it remains a secret that never leaves you. Not even you should acknowledge it happened." Huang Su said.

"I understand." Chen Mo agreed immediately without a second thought; he hadn't regarded it as a matter of importance anyway. Nevertheless, concerning his own reputation, he added, "I saved you not expecting any repayment. It was purely an act done in passing. Had I not seen you by chance, I wouldn't have saved you, so about repayment, there's no need for you to..."

"I will definitely repay you." Huang Su interrupted Chen Mo, her expression notably earnest.

Chen Mo saw the hint of coldness in Huang Su's beautiful eyes and understood that Huang Su wanted to conclude the life-saving matter.

"Alright, so how do you intend to repay me?" Since she insisted on giving back, Chen Mo decided to accept.

"What do you want?"

"A sword-type Magical Treasure." Chen Mo thought for a moment and said.

"I don't have one." Huang Su replied.

Chen Mo: "???"

Why ask me what I want if you have nothing to offer?

What's the point of saying anything?

"I don't have one now, but when I return to my clan, I will get it for you."

"Alright then."

Chen Mo didn't ask Huang Su who she planned to ask for it. "Since you've woken up, let's get going. From the sound of it, there seems to be a battle outside. This area is surrounded by Demon Beasts; we need to help, otherwise, none of us will get out."

Chen Mo didn't tell Huang Su that the Great Elder had already entered.

After all, his return here was partly to give himself an excuse for not helping his teammates.

Huang Su stayed silent, enduring her weakness as she touched her earring, producing a small porcelain bottle. She poured out an Elixir and swallowed it.

Moments later, she endured the pain, pulled her robe tight, and sat up slowly, looking at Chen Mo in front of her. She frowned and said, "Could you turn around?"

Chen Mo turned around.

Looking at Chen Mo's tall and slender back, Huang Su murmured to herself, "Too weak."

"Okay."

When Chen Mo turned back, Huang Su had already changed her clothes, now wearing a plain-colored jacket with a pleated skirt, and the high collar covered her throat thoroughly, not leaving even her neck exposed.

"Thank you... for rescuing me." Huang Su slightly bowed to Chen Mo, performing a Human Race courtesy, and then returned the robe to him.

Chen Mo responded with a low hum, developing some goodwill toward Huang Su. Of course, this goodwill wasn't romantic; he appreciated that she was sensible and didn't hysterically react upon waking up and finding her clothes removed, demanding he pay with his eyes or life. Now she even thanked him.

It wasn't a wasted rescue.

"By the way, here's your Soft Armor back." Chen Mo took the Soft Armor he had taken off Huang Su from the Qiankun Bracelet and returned it to her.

Huang Su's eyes froze for a moment before a blush of embarrassment and anger flashed across them. She quickly snatched it from Chen Mo's hand and stored it away.

After ingesting the Elixir, the maiden paced her breathing, feeling better as her complexion improved. Once she could move, she said, "Let's go."

...

When Chen Mo and Huang Su arrived,

Feng Ying's side was already finished.

The Heaven-Reaching Golden-Maned Lion Iron Teeth of the Fourth Realm had its head severed in one face-off with Feng Nian, and the Demon Beasts on the ground were slain clean by Lin Yitian and Bao Yue like the autumn wind sweeping away fallen leaves.

The scene was littered with dismembered remains.

Feng Nian inquired about what had happened from Feng Ying. The reason he entered was that Lin Yitian received a distress signal from the Thirteenth Princess and informed him about it.

After all, if Lin Yitian wanted to enter, it had to be with Feng Nian and Bao Yue's consent.

On the other side, Lin Yitian questioned the Thirteenth Princess, while Bao Yue asked about Bao Lingfei.

Seeing Feng Ying's hollow left arm and the absence of Huang Su and Chen Mo, Feng Nian first held accountable, "If it weren't for your two races' refusal to proceed with a clearing, this wouldn't have happened. If something happens to Huang Su or Chen Mo, I won't let it go."

Bao Yue, seeing the deceased Bao Dong, was about to hold Feng Nian and Lin Yitian accountable, recalling Bao Lingfei saying that if it weren't for the Thirteenth Princess and Feng Ying preventing them from taking the Spirit Fruit, they would have already obtained it and left.

Now hearing Feng Nian preemptively condemning them, Bao Yue was infuriated, but seeing the Eagle Owl Race suffered two losses, he held back, at least their loss seemed greater than theirs.
