Although Feng Ying appeared courteous and kind to others, Chen Mo sensed a vague hostility towards him.

Chen Mo glanced at Feng Ying, noticing a string of red numbers, 140238, on his forehead.

On the way here, Elder Huang Yi had mentioned to him that among the younger generation in the Spirit Platform Realm of the Eagle Owl Race, Feng Ying, Huang Su, and Feng Xuan were the most talented and strongest, and had just turned sixteen.

Chen Mo wasn't in a relaxed mood; in Central State, he was a rare cultivation genius seen once in millennia, having entered the First Grade Celestial Human Realm before turning thirty.

But here, he was considered quite old.

Nonetheless, he didn't belittle himself. He believed that with the resources Feng Ying had, his achievements wouldn't just stop there.

Feng Ying smiled, his gaze quickly scanning the Cyan Jade Bracelet on Chen Mo's wrist, then he was about to say something further when...

"Dong!"

"Dong!"

"Dong!"

Three long and loud bell chimes echoed from deep within the family grounds, instantly quieting the surrounding noise at the martial arts field, as everyone raised their heads toward the source of the bell.

In the southern sky, a figure appeared in the air. Although it was quite distant and not very clear, in just a blink, the figure suddenly teleported over the martial arts field.

This was a young man in a purple brocade, with outstanding features. Judging by his face, he seemed around the same age as Chen Mo, and his body didn't exude particularly strong spiritual power, yet standing there, he felt as imposing as a mountain, making everyone wary.

"This is our Fifth Elder Feng Hong, a Fifth Realm powerhouse, who is in charge of this competition selection," Elder Huang Yi's voice whispered in Chen Mo's ear.

Chen Mo stared at the red numbers "4577770" on the purple-clad youth's forehead, then Feng Ying followed Huang Yi in speaking: "Aunt Yi, little benefactor, please rest assured, grandpa is not obstinate, since the little benefactor is participating in the competition selection, grandpa will surely be fair and just in handling it."

"His grandfather..." Chen Mo retracted his gaze, glancing at Feng Ying, who sensed Chen Mo's look and gave him a gentle smile.

Chen Mo was surprised; from their appearances, one couldn't tell they were grandfather and grandson.

Feng Hong also noticed Elder Huang Yi and Chen Mo beside her, giving them a slight glance, then waved his hand, sending out three beams of golden light that landed on the martial arts field, kicking up a cloud of dust.

As the dust settled, three pillars appeared on the martial arts field.

Feng Hong spoke: "This time, the competition for Jade Secret Realm slots is different. To add challenge and save time, I've decided to change the old competition rules.

In the field, there are three stone pillars representing three slots for the Secret Realm. Half an Hour later, those standing on the pillars will gain entry. I must remind you, only one person can stand on each pillar, no using magical treasures or elixirs, no harming lives. Did everyone understand?"

His words caused an uproar.

It's well-known that ever since the discovery of the Jade Secret Realm, its competition selection rules have remained unchanged. Such sudden modification is bound to surprise.

Yet, surprised as they were, the changed rules weren't overly complex, and after a brief sorting out, one could understand them.

Those registered for the competition selection began to agree with nods.

"I disagree."

Just then, Elder Huang Yi spoke up. She wasn't foolish; having never altered rules before, changing them suddenly at the competition was clearly against Chen Mo.

Previously, the rules involved one-on-one matches, selecting three slots through successive rounds.

Now it's about scrambling for pillars, which isn't one-on-one anymore.

Chen Mo is an outsider; with all the competition among the clan's disciples, he would surely face exclusion, and trying to grab a pillar would certainly put him in a wheel battle, which wouldn't be fair to him.

As her words fell, all eyes turned to Elder Huang Yi and Chen Mo.

Everyone could see the rule change was obviously linked to Chen Mo.

Yet Elder Huang Yi opposing the Fifth Elder for an outsider surprised them.

Initially indifferent to Chen Mo, Huang Su now looked at him, her face curious.

Feng Ying clenched his five fingers, thinking to himself, though nobody knew what, his subsequent actions shocked everyone.

Feng Ying stepped forward, saluting Feng Hong above, saying: "Elder, I also find it inappropriate. It's unfair to the little benefactor. I hope Elder reconsiders the decision."

Feng Ying was Feng Hong's grandson; even he stood out against it, truly unexpected.

Chen Mo glanced at Feng Ying, surprised at his speaking on his behalf.

Yet facing both their opposition, Feng Hong merely gave a cold snort: "Elder Huang Yi, the rule modification has been reported to the Great Elder, who also agreed; it's not up to you to disagree."

Finishing his statement, Feng Hong waved his hand; a half-inch sized hourglass appeared. He swung it forth, enlarging it tenfold, towering, suspended in mid-air. He declared: "Timing starts."

Seeing the timing begin, those who were just bystanders quickly redirected their focus.

A stream of light rushed toward one pillar in the field, amid hearty laughter: "This pillar is mine, Feng Qing."

"Get lost, I, Feng Shan, haven't spoken, it's not your turn yet."

"..."

Streams of light flared from all around the martial arts field, competing for the three jade stone pillars.
