Chapter 2225: Entering the Mystic Realm In Search of the Winged Lion Demon Beast

  • Next Chapter

Leaving behind the cultivators gathered outside the mystic realm, Xuan Hao soon enough found himself being shuttled through space at a terrifying speed the second he crossed the mountain that served as the anchor for the mystic realm to connect to the Ewaria Continent. Feeling as countless random paths linked throughout the mystic realm emerged before him. Chaotic shuffling around as they would intersect the path, he was travelling on before breaking off before he could reach them.

Of course, this didn’t last for long, as a path soon enough intersected with his path as he was moving past it, causing his path to get redirected away from the mountain that served as the anchor point of the mystic realm. Creating the randomness in where one would end up upon entering the mystic realm that those cultivators outside had been talking about.

He could forcibly avoid this by relying on his current comprehension of the Dao of Space, but doing so came with its own risks, as he had no idea if interfering with these spatial channels would trigger some kind of safety mechanism from the powerful formations that should be in place around the mystic realm.

To avoid such a deadly situation in a place filled with unknown dangers that had at least scared off someone at the Land Creation Realm, he decided to just go along with the random end point within the mystic realm that had been arranged for him. Not feeling too worried about ending up somewhere far away from the winged lion demon beast, as it wasn’t too difficult for him to cover a large distance within the mystic realm if needed.

The only real worry was that the mystic realm had been sectioned off by powerful formations that he wouldn’t be able to get through with his current strength, but... That was unlikely given he had now broken through to the Star Creation Realm and was by no means weak when it came to formations.

Thud~

And with that, Xuan Hao found himself getting spit out of the spatial channel in the middle of what looked like a large swampland. The only sign that this should have once been a place serving a different purpose than being a rather odd scenic spot within the mystic realm, being the ruins that had been partly swallowed up by the swamp with vines and other plants having long since reclaimed the few parts sticking out of the swamp.

Only exception being the cracked platform he found himself standing atop of looking out at the swamp that had swallowed everything in sight, a thin barrier covering the platform itself holding the plants outside at bay for now, while also providing a measure of safety to the people unfortunate enough to find themselves within this swamp.

After all, while the swamp looked relatively calm on the surface, extending his divine sense beyond the protective barrier covering the small platform revealed a different reality.

Not only was the entire swamp saturated in a thin poisonous miasma powerful enough to kill a weaker Celestial Immortal Realm cultivator within a few short seconds, but there were also countless deadly poisonous insects hiding beneath the peaceful exterior, some of which even gave him a sense of threat- and that was despite most of those poisonous insects being somewhere between the Soul Ascension Realm and the Dao Seed Realm in terms of strength. Showing just how deadly the poison hidden away inside their small bodies was.

Not to mention someone at the Land Creation Realm, even someone at the Star Creation Realm like himself had to be careful travelling through this kind of environment, as there were a few poisonous insects potent enough to threaten him.

Whoosh~

Still, this wasn’t enough to stop him from leaving the safety of the small platform. On the contrary, he decided to capture a few of those deadly insects that made him feel a sense of threat.

At the end of the day, deadly as these poisonous insects were, with their strength being limited, they had no way to fight back and could only be helplessly picked up by him before being stuffed away for later study. The main danger came more so from not discovering these poisonous insects in time before it was too late, something that should have been simple enough relying on ones divine sense, but they had also developed a special kind of carapace that allowed them to avoid detection by divine sense to some extent.

The only reason Xuan Hao was able to easily pinpoint even those poisonous insects deadly to someone in the Star Creation Realm, was because his soul strength was naturally stronger than other Star Creation Realm cultivators. Meaning that his divine sense was also far stronger than other Star Creation Realm cultivators. Allowing him to breeze through the deadly swamp with little to no effort.

Not taking long to leave the boundaries of the poisonous swamp, as he soon enough found himself stepping into a vast field of spiritual herbs.

Unfortunately, these were spiritual herbs that had once been farmed by the past owners of the mystic realm, so most of the spiritual herbs that had been growing had decayed over the years without getting the care they were used to. Leaving behind a wilder field with different kinds of lower ranked spiritual herbs that were of little interest to him.

If anything, the one thing of interest within the abandoned spiritual herb field were the different tools that had been left behind, as those could indeed be used by the Star Shattering Sect in the future to better care for their spiritual herbs. So, the place wasn’t entirely useless to him, as he picked up the few still intact spiritual artifacts designed for nurturing spiritual herbs scattered throughout the abandoned spiritual herb field.

Along the way, he even managed to pick up a few still functioning storage bags containing information on the different spiritual herbs that had once been grown in the spiritual herb field along with knowledge on how to care for different unique spiritual herbs.

Not that useful to him, but certainly something the botanist of the sects would love to get their hands on; thus, he threw these scattered notes into his own interspatial ring alongside the different farming tool he had picked up so far. Starting to feel more like he was out treasure hunting than saving his pet.

But he wasn’t just going to give up free benefits when they were thrown his way, and he could still sense that the winged lion demon beast was fine through his connection to it.

Still... The danger of this mystic realm was undoubtedly real. The only reason he had been able to so smoothly move through it like his own back garden had to do with his strength.

Even the abandoned spiritual herb fields that looked harmless on the surface weren’t harmless so to speak, as there were countless odd shaped spiritual plant monsters moving around the abandoned fields. Ranging anywhere from the Earlier Stages of the Celestial Immortal Realm to the Pinnacle of the Land Creation Realm in terms of strength.

It was just with his presence being fully displayed for these spiritual plant monsters wandering around the abandoned spiritual herb fields, they decided not to trouble him and allowed him to move around freely.

Undoubtedly to anyone else, this place would be no less deadly than the poisonous swamp he had just passed through- if not more dangerous.

Not that this had much to do with him, as after scouring the place for anything of value, he left the place without giving it another glance. Plunging through what felt like a thin barrier that took him to the next unique region of the mystic realm, a vast forest covered in eternal darkness with deadly nocturnal demon beast proficient in ambushing their prey everywhere.

However, different from the two previous regions of the mystic realm he had passed through, he sensed that the winged lion demon beast should be inside this part of the mystic realm.

Deadly, sure, but to a demon beast like the winged lion demon beast, it shouldn’t be that hard to fit in, as the locals didn’t seem to actively hunt down other demon beasts weaker than themselves. Generally, only targeting equally matched or slightly weaker demon beasts while hunting.

A rule he had a distinct feeling would only be in place when dealing with other demon beasts.

If a human cultivator showed up, he didn’t doubt in the slightest that the countless demon beasts lurking within the eternal darkness of the region would come swarming over to finish off this intruder. Making this region far harder to survive inside compared to the previous two regions of the mystic realm he had passed through.

But to accommodate the large number of demon beasts in the region, the region itself was also far larger than the previous two. Ensuring that even a battle at the Land Creation Realm wouldn’t end up affect too much of region.
