Crossover: The Problem Human of [Arcadia]

Chapter 911: Ch 910: Krishna's Scheming

  • Next Chapter

In a riverside pavilion, Krishna sat there like any ordinary angler, wearing a straw hat and a deep blue raincoat, fishing rod in hand.

She slowly set the golden scroll down.

Loki hopped onto the stone table and asked carefully, "Your Eminence..."

"Hm?" Krishna looked up at it with a smile on her face. "How much did Athena pay you?"

"Ah." Loki gave an awkward laugh and swallowed the urge to put in a good word for Ryo.

But he still said quietly, "I'm just worried your plans might go sideways, that's all."

He paused, then added, "Especially now that even Shiroyasha has been dragged into this."

Honestly, Loki was one of the few people in the know, but he'd never imagined Ryo would go to Shiroyasha for help.

And he'd definitely never imagined she'd say yes.

Pissing off the Buddha was a job that, logically, a star spirit who'd long since learned her lesson shouldn't have touched.

Could it be... that Ryo and Shiroyasha were closer than anyone realized?

Surely he wasn't her illegitimate kid?

While Loki's mind wandered, Krishna chuckled. "That meddlesome problem child is sending us a warning."

"A warning?"

Loki froze, then said in disbelief, "She..."

Then his face went pale, and he scrambled to recall whether he'd done anything lately to offend Shiroyasha.

She had sealed her spirit rank and couldn't use her full power, but she was still a former two-digit and the undisputed strongest in Little Garden's public rankings.

When someone like that was displeased and sent a warning, it carried enormous weight.

Even Loki, the god of mischief, would be spooked.

Krishna cut him a sideways glance, seeing right through him. "It has nothing to do with you."

Loki relaxed at once. His nerve came right back, and he hopped over next to the scroll, sneaking peeks as he asked, "So what is she warning us about?"

"Probably that place in the East District."

Krishna said it casually. "She must have learned through some channel that the stronghold was built there on the Queen's suggestion."

She gave Loki another sidelong look as she said it.

Feeling that gaze, Loki's whole raven face went numb. He hurried to declare his loyalty. "You know I'd never leak a word without your permission!"

"I know." Krishna nodded slightly, then smiled. "Which is why you can leak this one now."

"..." Loki blinked, and his expression turned strange.

Leak that the East District stronghold was built on the Queen's orders? That...

Was the Divine Statesman scheming something again?

And who was she scheming against?

Other than pissing off the Queen, what good could come of this?

Loki ran the numbers in his head, though his eyes never left the scroll.

Then he spotted a name he'd been seeing a lot lately.

The characters for "Ryo Yagami."

"Huh? That troublemaker got exposed at a bar in the East District?" Seeing it, Loki blurted out, "How could he be so careless?"

Getting tied to the Shiroyasha, who had just delivered Kalki, was the same as announcing that he was involved. That sneaky little fox Yagami, always laying low, how could he be so careless?

"He was probably dragged into it by Shiroyasha, so I'd see it."

Krishna laughed softly, then narrowed her eyes, her expression unreadable. "Maybe Arcadia really isn't fated to die out."

At that, Loki quickly lowered his head and thought it over.

Suddenly he remembered the two people currently locked up in the East District stronghold, and the words burst out of him. "Shiroyasha's real aim is to rescue Arcadia's old members?"

"No. It's the kid who wants to save them."

Krishna pointed at Ryo's name on the main scroll and shook her head. "Human thinking can be hard to understand sometimes."

"It really can," Loki agreed with feeling.

Two former Arcadia members, and they were going to raid a key Ouroboros stronghold for them?

That was straight-up insane.

Even Indra only dared to hit the stronghold's supply convoys after tricking the Ouroboros main army away, and he'd brought several elite Heavenly Army fighters along to back him up.

Arcadia alone couldn't do it. Even counting Shiroyasha, who couldn't show her face, there were only Ryo, Leticia, and the two Greek maiden goddesses. Taking an Ouroboros stronghold with all its layers of defense, down in the lower layers? Impossible.

In the upper layers, it might have been different, since power wasn't restricted there the way it was below.

Because of the special restrictions here, something Ryo and Athena could probably pull off in the upper layers was far harder down below.

Still, you couldn't refuse Shiroyasha's request outright. Loki knew that much, and he also knew Krishna would never refuse it.

But Krishna couldn't be the one to bring it up. So Loki, ever thoughtful, said, "Since the East District stronghold's been exposed, should I notify them to relocate?"

"Mm." Krishna nodded slightly.

Loki got the message and flapped his wings to leave.

Just then...

"Hold on a moment."

Loki, one foot already stepped into the boundary zone, pulled it back.

Krishna said softly, "If he wants it that badly, let's give him a chance."

Loki lowered his head at once and put on a listening pose.

Krishna said calmly, "Move all the important supplies and personnel out, except for those two Arcadia members. And notify the Cross. Have them arrange reinforcements."

Loki's brow twitched. He understood: Krishna was pitting one side against the other, letting them wear each other down. But he had to admit it really was an opening.

The old Arcadia members were still there, weren't they? And if Ryo pulled his weight, he really did have a shot at rescuing them from the Cross.

Only, with this arrangement, that sly little fox who'd been hiding his true strength all this time probably wouldn't be able to keep hiding.

Thinking this, Loki lowered his head and answered, "Understood!"

He was about to fly off when Krishna added lazily, "When you move the supplies, record a bit extra. Got it?"

Loki's wings froze. His raven face twisted into something like a sinister grin.

"Caw-caw-caw~ Worthy of the person I serve~"

The Cross Pantheon was in charge of moving the supplies. If something went wrong, the compensation would... wait, why "if"? Wasn't it a sure thing?

And as a loyal subordinate of Lord Athena, leaking the supply route was perfectly reasonable, wasn't it?

And once the reasonable thing was done, the usual rules gave him a one percent cut.

With that thought, Loki beamed an idiotic grin. "Rest assured, I'll get it done."

Krishna nodded. "Go."

The raven gave a salute and flapped away into the distance.

Once Loki was gone, Krishna glanced at the scroll. The golden scroll collapsed inward from the inside, compressing into a tiny particle and then vanishing without a trace.

She picked up her rod and lifted her fish bucket, smiling with a hint of anticipation.

"Let's see what kind of foundation Greece's brand-new Another Cosmology has."
