Creepy Pharmacist: All my patients are scary!
Chapter 679: They've Started Trying to Sow Discord Already?
Wushen stood across the traffic-filled road, across the bustling crowd, watching the girl who was crouched in front of Little Lynn, her face full of pity.
His eyes were hollow.
That's right.
He had remembered again.
That older big sister who had made his kindergarten years so colorful, his favorite teacher—it was on this same day that she had dealt a heavy blow to his young heart...
She had been so gentle, but in the end, she too had surrendered to reality.
Age and stuff...
Teacher and student and stuff...
Could it really create such painful barriers between people...
Clearly, he, Lynn, had never cared about things like that...But in the end, the outcome was the same—a fruitless end.
That beautiful big sister had left his side. Though they still kept in touch afterward, they could never be as open with each other as before.
Later, she got married—to a man who, while not as handsome as him, was still a decent guy—and soon gave birth to a cute little girl. They were so in love, so harmonious. And she truly hadn't waited ten years for him, because ten years later, he had already gone to hell.
And time just loved to play tricks like this.
He vaguely remembered that on the day before he went to hell—on his fifteenth birthday—he had waited in loneliness, but the blessing from that big sister he longed for never came.
He thought, maybe that was just how it was...
But instead, he got a shy love letter from her daughter.
At that moment, he held that pink letter with complicated feelings, staring at the little girl standing before him, gripping the hem of her skirt, her face blushing with shy nervousness. His heart was a tangled mess of emotions, a chaotic blend of everything.
And it was only then.
That he finally understood what it meant to be separated by the massive gap of age. And he understood how she had felt back then.
And this... had become a scar on his heart that he could never erase.
That day, he even checked carefully—no fishbone had gotten stuck in his throat. It was genuine heartache. And then it hurt, and hurt...
Until he went to hell.
Lynn took a deep breath and closed his eyes in melancholy.
Letting the cold rain slap against his face.
His heart was empty.
Anyone could see his heartache. Anyone who saw him would want to sympathize, to give him a hug and a word of comfort.
And by this point, how could he not understand the terror of this space? When a hard blade couldn't cut you, it used a soft one. It wanted to use his own heartbreaks to chip away at him—this man of unyielding iron, as towering and steadfast as Mount Tai.
In the distance.
That little boy still stood there hollowly. The sky had started to drizzle with cold rain, and that lonely atmosphere was really being amplified.
But this...
How could it possibly destroy a man as iron-willed as him?
Over the next period of time, Lynn stood there hollowly, like watching a blur of images, seeing the fourth, the fifth, the sixth—a whole procession of cute little girls—breaking up with him one after another.
In just one short day.
His young heart had endured over a dozen heartbreaks.
Each cut was etched into his bones.
Each one stabbed straight into his heart.
And it was precisely these incidents, one after another, that had made his mind grow up so early. But where had it all gone wrong? He thought about it for a long time. That very day, he went home and tore apart the book titled "How to Cultivate a Girlfriend from Childhood 2.0" into shreds.
It was only later that he figured it out.
He actually hadn't been wrong.
What was wrong was that he had cultivated too many at once...
Although he really did have a gift for time management, even if he skipped eating and sleeping, he could only allocate less than two hours on average to each cute little girl. No matter how good he was at managing things, for a relationship, that was nowhere near enough...
Lynn took another deep breath, his face full of melancholy and exhaustion.
And this was just the emotional drain.
If he grew a little older...
And added physical exhaustion on top of that...
Then no matter how many barrels of Red Bull he chugged every day, there was no way he could get going again.
After all.
Humans... have their limits.
Lynn opened his weary eyes, took out some eye drops from his pocket, and dripped them into his eyes, pressing down on his heartache.
But it was fine.
After all, this was just past heartbreak.
He had gotten through it back when he was so small. Now that he was so much bigger in every way, how could he be easily knocked down by the scars of the past?
That would really be underestimating the strength of his heart!
Ha!
As he dripped the eye drops, Lynn forced the corners of his mouth upward.
And finally.
With the last breakup concluded, the little boy across the street slowly faded from his sight like a fallen leaf in the wind, and the surrounding scenery began to change.
Lynn knew that this must be because the space couldn't deal with him anymore, so it had automatically dispelled these illusions. After all, he, Lynn, was a man who couldn't be defeated. How could he be fooled by a bunch of tiny illusions?
"Stupid Brain, we're breaking up!"
A loud, noisy voice rang out.
Lynn's hand, holding the eye drops, froze instantly.
And just as he turned his head with a mechanical creak, the scene before him was no longer the traffic-filled road. Instead, it was his Bloodsaw Potion Shop. Inside the shop, a black-haired little girl was standing with her arms crossed, her eyes closed, saying something to a version of himself standing across from her.
"You're a useless Stupid Brain, and I'm a useful Left Hand, so we just don't fit. Plus, I, this Left Hand, already have someone I like. Don't come looking for me anymore!"
Lynn's gaze instantly went hollow.
"..."
And across from that black-haired little girl, the "Lynn" who looked exactly like him panicked and stepped forward, saying:
"How can you suddenly say something like that?! Haven't I been good to you?"
That black-haired little girl kept her eyes closed, speaking coldly: "Of course not. Aside from trying everything to screw me, you really have no other redeeming qualities. This Left Hand has already..."
But just as she was about to finish her sentence—
Bang—
A terrifying uppercut.
"Waaaaaaahhhh—!!"
That black-haired little girl was sent flying straight through the roof by the uppercut, and her screaming could still be heard echoing from far away. Lynn had already appeared over there, still holding the pose from the uppercut, his eyes closed, the anger veins on his head tightening with audible pops.
Then he turned to look at the "Lynn" who was frozen there.
Bang—
"Agh, fuuuck—!!"
Another terrifying uppercut.
After sending both of them flying, Lynn calmly adjusted his monocle, pulled back his fist, cracked his neck from side to side, and popped his knuckles as he stared with dead-fish eyes.
"Unbelievable. Can't find weaknesses from my past, so now you're trying to sow discord between me and myself?"
This was just too much.
Did he, Lynn, actually fear a physical breakup with Left Hand?
As if.
When have you ever seen someone worry about their own hand deciding to part ways with them?
Ignoring the messy projections around him, Lynn leaped up, smashing straight through the roof of the projected Bloodsaw Potion Shop and landing on the rooftop outside.
The entire view was filled with black mist.
Lynn's eyes were sharp as he quickly began to determine the direction out of this illusionary space.
And from this projection, he could tell.
Although he couldn't fully resist the influence of projections after leaving Left Hand, the power of the Colossus's Heart was still there. The projections he was experiencing didn't have much lethal force.
If it really manifested a Root-level entity for him...
Then even if he felt no fear at all...
Getting rid of the projection's influence wouldn't be anywhere near this easy.
After all, as the owner of half of the Colossus's Heart, walking into this dungeon was basically like a game admin strolling into a noob village. It was nothing but slaughter.
