Chapter 672: Someone Needs to Carry Me to Get Up

She raised her head, the darkness in the distance reflected in her smiling eyes.

"Yes, a kind of chaotic filth, a sleeping nightmare. You can only watch from afar as it expands, until you too become a part of its dream, and then you'll realize just how absurd this dream really is. Those things that shouldn't exist, and those that already do, will descend into reality and personally take away what you hold dear in your heart."

In Lynn's mind surfaced the scene he had once seen in Little One's consciousness—the one where a head was severed amidst raging flames.

There surfaced the image from the murals of the Sacred World: the fall of countless angels, and the eye that opened in the sky.

He opened his eyes.

Then came the image of Sir Aiwen before his fall, that bleak and sorrowful smile as he faced the despairing darkness alone.

And it gradually overlapped with the scene before him.

A deafening, prolonged roar.

Above the horizon, that massive, intangible Psychic Energy giant reared its head back. In a frenzy of long howls and hatred, it charged fearlessly toward the sky-covering darkness, like a bolt of lightning piercing the heavens, becoming the only flash of light beneath that vast curtain of night.

Rumble—

The entire earth trembled, and the endless blood mist churned with a thunderous roar.

And that projected colossal planet still burned madly, teetering on the edge of collapse, even clearly showing the Undead continuously turning to ash.

Lynn understood.

That was hatred.

It was also the very source of why they had fallen into this hell and yet remained unkillable.

Root-level beings cannot be killed.

Because they all have unfinished obsessions and hatreds suppressed deep in their hearts.

And he also knew clearly that even the gentle and refined Sir Aiwen desperately longed to return to the day before his fall and once again declare war against that darkness!

Rumble—

The tremendous tremor nearly made Lynn lose his footing.

Mother Tree smiled faintly, reached out, and steadied his shoulder, raising her head and saying:

"Alright, nothing much to see here. Of course, you don't need to worry either. It's just a projection. As long as you lead me to the Colossus's Brain, once I devour it, everything reflected in this space will disappear. Then you all can reunite, right? Hmm?"

Her voice was light and casual.

But Lynn knew.

Given this woman's personality, as a chaotic Evil God, she would absolutely not let him off easily.

Lynn took one last deep look at that giant roaring with hatred in the darkness and said:

"Then let's go."

He knew staying here would serve no purpose.

Mother Tree would never let him get close to Sir Aiwen, and in this state, there was nothing he could do to help anyway.

But this only confirmed one thing for Lynn even more.

And that was the horror of this projection.

Though Mother Tree had been keeping up a casual facade, if that projection of darkness truly descended upon her, she probably wouldn't be standing there smirking and watching the show like this anymore.

"Oh? Not planning to pull some tricks here, find a chance to contact that Cyber guy?"

"After all, it's right within reach. Miss this chance, and you might never get rescued again~"

That young girl floated, watching him playfully with a smirk, circling around Lynn with keen interest, observing his expression.

Like a seductive demon toying with human hearts.

"Ah! Yeah!"

Lynn stretched hard, also showing a beaming smile, adjusted his monocle, and said:

"But how do you know I haven't pulled any tricks? Maybe I already have, and you just haven't noticed yet. Don't you think that's entirely possible, Madam?"

Mother Tree let out a cold laugh.

"Oh really? Then I'd love to see what tricks you can pull on me."

She slowly landed, waved her hand casually, and the blood mist that had parted before them immediately rumbled and converged, blocking the view of the sky.

Her bare feet stepped onto the barren wasteland.

The bells on her ankles jingled softly.

"Let's go!"

"The sooner you take me to the Colossus's Brain, the sooner you'll be free, isn't that right?"

But Lynn didn't move right away.

He glanced at his pocket watch.

Then, with a thud, he sat down on the ground, pulled off his conjured boots, poured out the sand inside, and said casually:

"My feet are blistered. Can't walk! Someone needs to carry me!"

Snap—

A huge anger vein instantly burst out on Mother Tree's head, right in front of her.

Her fists clenched with a cracking sound.

"Don't you dare play games with me!"

The sound of Mother Tree grinding her teeth came through as her fist slowly raised.

"Give you an inch, and you take a mile? I won't kill you, but do you believe I could snap your limbs right now and turn you into a human eunuch?"

But just as she finished speaking.

Lynn tilted his head and said, "Like this?"

She turned around.

And immediately saw that somehow, that guy had already retracted all four of his limbs, leaving only a torso and an innocent, dumb head, wobbling there like a Weeble toy.

[Ding! Mother Tree's anger toward you +11]

Lynn stuck out his tongue, adjusted his monocle with effort, and said, "See? Even if you make me a human eunuch, someone still needs to carry me. And I've been so sincere—no crying, no fussing the whole way, even telling jokes to make you laugh—but you won't even give me a piggyback ride. How heartbreaking!"

"And you've been floating the whole way, while I've been trudging on two feet like a miserable wretch. Of course I'd get tired!"

Lynn shrugged innocently, then flopped backward, looking like a completely hopeless, washed-up Salted Fish.

"..."

Crack, crack, crack—

(Sound of fists clenching)

Mother Tree barely held back the urge to beat this Waste to death, and she could tell at a glance that he was doing this on purpose.

He was deliberately trying to disgust her, to mess with her.

Taking a deep breath.

She silently pulled a vine from her body.

But the moment she drew it, Lynn glared and said, "Hey hey! I'm telling you, I don't have many faults, but I really can't stand being mistreated. The moment someone mistreats me, my poor little heart can't take it, and if I can't take it, I might just pass out, and if I pass out, maybe the seal will break. Don't say I didn't warn you! It'll all be your fault!"

Snap—

That young girl clenched her teeth, angrily threw the vine to the ground, stomped over with a crackling sound, and said:

"Get on! Say one more word, and I'll kill you!"

"Roger!"

Lynn instantly smiled as he conjured back his limbs with a Flesh Cataclysm, glanced at his watch, and nimbly climbed onto her back without any shame at all.

After all, as long as you take the fine art of shamelessness to the extreme, there's nothing you wouldn't dare to do.

It wasn't like he had never ridden a Root-level being before.

Legs wrapped around.

Arms looped forward.

Giddyup!
