[FROLO]

Katya returned to work at Romanov Steel four days later, in the company of Sergei Moskowsky, as in their little routine.

The alpha had been used to dropping his husband off at work and picking him up every evening before preparing after-work care for Katya.

But it was also safe to say Sergei didn’t like that Katya was going to work so soon. He tried to beg a few times again, but Katya wouldn’t let him.

"Research, Vladimirrr... I have to go to work and help my team. You can come pick me up for lunch and after work.

"I’ll be waiting for you," Katya insisted, despite Sergei pouting and listing a bunch of reasons why Katya didn’t need to go to work so soon.

"All your reasons are unrealistic," Katya had told him the day before, when Sergei gave him a list of ten reasons why Katya going back to work that soon was a bad idea.

"No, they are not," Sergei grumbled while he fed Katya popcorn.

"Oh really? Let’s read them, shall we?" Katya said, and Sergei nodded confidently.

"What if Greg looks at you again? What if the food is terrible? I would die without you. Please don’t leave me. I love you and miss you already.

"Can I come to work with you and be your assistant? I can be your errand boy. Please don’t leave me in this house," Katya sighed before he continued the list.

"What if I miss you so much and you’re having a meeting? You could work from home, and I’ll be a good boyfriend and let you work. Stay for another week; I wanna hold you all the time.

"Please let me love you. I won’t be noisy in the office. I can’t live without you. What if I cook Pelmeni and you’re not here to eat it? I don’t like Greg.

"Adopt me as your dog then. I’ll be your emotional support dog at work. I’ll be in my wolf fo—" Katya couldn’t even keep reading anymore.

"I’ll be in my wolf form," Sergei said quietly, completing the sentence like it was any better.

"Firstly, you’re a huge wolf. And you will most certainly growl at every alpha who tries to look at me or help me work. And you can’t be an emotional support dog. You’re my alpha.

"No one else gets to see you like that unless you’re fighting. And you can cook Pelmeni before I come from work so I’ll eat it.

"See, all your reasons don’t make sense," Katya sighed exaggeratedly while Sergei batted his lashes at his omega as if that was going to get Katya to change his mind.

Sergei had tried again that night, but the response was the same.

Which was why now Sergei was standing at the door of the research floor, trying to convince himself not to shift into a wolf while knowing that his omega would have his head if he showed his wolf form to anyone else away from war.

He had to be good, but fuck, what the hell was he supposed to do for the whole day without Katya?

"Sol... Solnyshka... Can I get a hug, please?" Sergei said, ignoring the quiet that had spread across the entire floor.

These people had watched this same man murder Belyaeva like it was nothing. Ruin that woman like that was just another day.

And now he was being a clingy boyfriend because his boyfriend was at work? What the hell kind of shit was Sergei Moskowsky?

Then again, Sergei didn’t care about them.

He cared about Katya.

"Please," the big bad wolf of Frolo whined, and Katya looked around at the office, only to be met with surprised people.

They knew different versions of this man, and now they were seeing... Sergei the boyfriend??

What the hell was happening?

"Oh, goodness... Alright. Come her—" Katya began, and Sergei didn’t wait for the sentence to end.

He was already in front of Katya, staring at his Solnyshka like he really didn’t want to leave. But Sergei also knew he had to respect Katya’s place of work.

His omega had responsibilities, and Sergei was obviously a distraction, not that Sergei would admit it this time.

"I love you so much," Sergei keened before reaching out to hug Katya gently.

"I love you too, Vladimir... But I’ll kill you if you don’t let me work," Katya said into the hug, making Sergei let out a soft chuckle.

"Alright, that’s enough... Go on... who knows... maybe if you’re a good alpha, I’ll take you out to dinner today," Katya said, knowing damn well what to say to get Sergei through the elevator doors.

"Me?"

"You’re my bald boyfriend, aren’t you?" Katya teased, and Sergei subconsciously touched his nearly hairless head.

"Yours... Always yours, Solnyshka," Sergei chuckled softly before he kissed Katya’s cheek and forehead.

"I’ll go now and ask Anya to help me pick clothes for dinner," Sergei said excitedly before he looked around the office suddenly, his eyes scanning the room as if he was trying to root out any danger.

"In case of anything... let me know, Solnyshka... I can’t... I don’t think I can lo—" Sergei said defeatedly, like he really wanted to go, but at the same time the thought of losing Katya again scared him to the core.

"I’ll be okay, I promise. Besides, if anything happens, you have my mark on you... You’ll know... But I’ll tell you. Now go, Vladimir. I’m safe. No one is going to take me away from you," Katya reassured softly.

Sergei looked at him one more time before he knew he really had to leave.

"I’m only a call away," he reminded.

"I know, alpha... I know," Katya smiled softly as he watched Sergei leave.

He knew this wasn’t easy for Sergei, especially given the last place Katya had been before he was taken away was Romanov Steel.

But what the hell was he to do then? Life had to go on, and he couldn’t be walking on eggshells every time.

He had to live even for himself.

And begrudgingly, the devil of Frolo got into the elevator, his eyes still holding Katya’s even then. And when the doors shut, he got a text from his omega.

"Thank you for bringing me to work, alpha. See you at dinner. I love you, always, my Vladimir. I’ll come home today, back to you, like I’ve always done. Have a good day, my strong alpha."

Sergei smiled sheepishly at the text, as the elevator went down.

However, before he got to the ground floor, he was suddenly taken back up past the research floor, but not far up to the chairman’s office where Mr. Romanov was.

The elevator stopped at the security office, and when it opened, Sergei was met with the one person he absolutely did not want to see.

"Great. Just great," Sergei grumbled.

"Dude, you made me teach you internet usage for weeks, and all your unthankful ass got is great??," Svetlana huffed.

"You’re mean," was all Sergei said as he got off the elevator.

"The Blackwaters have been stalking your distracted ass," Svet groaned.

"I know. They’ve been following me for seven years now," Sergei said, shrugging casually.

"Also, my Solnyshka is taking me on a dinner date after work. Have any ideas on what I should wear to look good for him?"

"You’re asking me to help you get laid? By my best friend?"

"No, just what to wear. Besides, on getting laid, we alr—"

"You finish that sentence, and Romanov will not have a boyfriend to take to dinner."

"Yes, ma’am."
