[FROLO]

While the city was having the time of its life, the government was horrified, panicking.

Everyone had always known Sergei Moskowsky was dangerous. That he was the devil of Frolo for a reason.

But watching the video of one man being attacked by twenty Bratva men holding katanas, only to come out unscathed and unbothered, was something that scared the living shit out of them.

Because it was obvious the scratch on him had happened because he was thinking of the Greg he mentioned, and honestly, that was not comforting.

The alpha was a one-man army, whose weakness had just been revealed to the realm, and who had even bothered to help security in Moskowsky, or even Romanov Steel.

His omega was still walking around like things were normal. And Sergei himself? He wasn’t even the least bit bothered by a thing about what had happened to him.

Worse, Moskowsky Group stocks hadn’t even tanked to let the government know that maybe people were pissed and horrified by the man.

Everything had remained the same. The stocks’ value increased for both Romanov Steel and Moskowsky Group. The city had been reduced to a fan site for the devil of Frolo and unconventional romance stakes.

This was dangerous.

Sergei was dangerous, and he had just proven it.

He had been attacked. It was obvious from the footage shown. He was the victim, yet everyone who had come at him was dead save for the one man who was asking him relationship advice.

Who really was Sergei Moskowsky?

What was the government supposed to be ready for should the alpha go feral?

Would the Romanov omega be helpful in taming Sergei Moskowsky?

They had questions. So many, yet no one had the right answers. No one knew what was going on in Sergei’s head, because he would have reported the attack.

Sergei had been seriously offended because someone had ruined the shirt his boyfriend had ironed for him. How were they supposed to deal with such a man? What were they even to do or say to make him calm down?

But how did they expect a man who was attacked to defend himself with care when his life was in danger?

"That maniac really complained that they didn’t target his neck and instead went for his shirt. What the hell?" the governor of Frolo sighed, like that was not a problem he had ever been prepared for.

Then again, no one was ready for Sergei Moskowsky.

And if that was a calm and unbothered Sergei Moskowsky dropping bodies...

What the hell would it look like if the man really got angry and decided to annihilate people again? Because the city still had nightmares from decades ago. The present day just confirmed it all.

Sergei wasn’t dangerous because he had a network of assassins at his beck and call.

Sergei Moskowsky was dangerous because he was Sergei Moskowsky.

And that was something that no one had a proper understanding of yet.

At the Bratva headquarters, Aleksandr had a meeting with a few crime lords who wanted to join him in bringing down Sergei. It was already a failed mission because Alek knew what these people didn’t know.

He had known Sergei for the past.

The Sergei who had killed his boyfriends out of spite. The Sergei who didn’t even spare children in his annihilation.

But Alek was hopeful that with Katya as the alpha’s weakness and everyone seeing the situation, Sergei would slip up and Alek would find his hand.

He was too haunted by the way Katya had changed ever since he met Sergei. Ever since Katya interacted with Sergei closely. Even before the mark on Katya’s neck.

Now Katya had Sergei’s mate mark.

They were true mates. A relationship forged by the goddess that gave Alek so many loopholes to exploit. Yet now a part of him was not even sure if the exploitation would be worth it in the end.

Because this war was not just any regular war. This was war against the most wicked beast that ever lived. A man who had absolutely no value for anyone’s life. But desperation was something to work with, right?

And so, Alek chaired the meeting. Talked to the men and women about Katya Romanov and how to exploit Katya Romanov. It was not that difficult because Alek had been Katya’s boyfriend for three years.

He had gotten into Katya’s head with ease.

But was he even sure that he could get to Katya like before?

Alek and everyone else had seen how Katya had changed.

He smiled more. Was a lot more confident. Defended himself and didn’t give a fuck what anyone thought of him. It was like they were seeing Katya in a whole new world while they were stuck in an old world.

But how the fuck was he supposed to destabilize the one man who was way too protected?

The moment the meeting with the criminal lords ended, the governor of Frolo walked in. He didn’t look surprised that Alek was the Bratva leader despite Alek once upon a time holding public office.

Right now, dealing with Sergei was an urgent thing. They would deal with the morality of Aleksandr Petrov later. Until then, they had a Sergei problem.

"Governor Morozov," Aleksandr greeted the man he’d worked with in the time he’d served Frolo. It was an unexpected meeting, not that Alek was that bothered.

"What brings you here?" Alek asked as he looked at the man who had willingly walked into the one place no one in their right mind ever stepped into.

Much less an active politician.

"I have a problem that I believe you have too, if the video footage you released to the city is something to go by," Governor Morozov didn’t even bother with the pleasantries. There really was no time for that.

"And what, pray tell, is my problem? You do realize that I no longer work for the city, right?" Alek said, staring at the man in his office. He understood well that this man had done him so many favors before. But this was different.

Surely there had to be more to it, right?

"Sergei Moskowsky. That man is too dangerous to be roaming the city freely," Governor Morozov said, and Aleksandr raised a brow.

This was a little too convenient. It made no sense, really.

"I don’t need your help to deal with Sergei Moskowsky, governor," Alek pointed out as if to remind the governor that he was right in the middle of the Russian Bratva.

The Bratva wasn’t easily terrified, yet the governor had seen so much that he didn’t want to even try mincing his words.

Sergei Moskowsky needed to be eliminated for their lives.

"I know. But the city needs you, senator. Help us, and you will have access to all the services like before. Unrestricted access to the information systems we have, and of course we will share our resources with you just to help you deal with Sergei.

"The man needs to be put down, and you’re the perfect candidate for the job. What do you say, senator?" Governor Morozov said, and Aleksandr looked into the man’s eyes like he was trying to figure out whether this man was playing games with him or being real.

"You don’t know what you’re asking of me, governor," Aleksandr insisted.

And the governor put his briefcase on the table. Then opened it to reveal diamonds worth billions.

"Please, Aleksandr."

"Fine. I’ll accept the alliance."
