[FROLO]

Alek had seen a lot of things in his life as the senator, as an alpha. Hell, as Katya’s boyfriend.

But by the gods, he’d never seen this.

Ever.

This wasn’t even Katya Romanov anymore.

Not the Romanov heir or the former Moskowsky chairman.

This was an omega.

Sergei’s omega.

Sergei’s very bratty omega.

It was a realization that he had not expected, especially the way Sergei didn’t even have to do much and Katya trusted him. Completely.

Alek never had Katya’s full trust.

He was suddenly realizing, as he stared at the couple that was once again eating each other’s lips out. The way Katya didn’t even try to lead the kiss, how he let Sergei lead him. Hold him. Guide him.

Who the fuck was this, and what had Alek been given over the years?

"Solnyshka..." Sergei spoke when they pulled back.

And Katya, not trusting himself to say a word, his lips still tingling from the kisses Sergei had given him, just nodded.

"I came to talk to your father," Sergei said, and Katya stilled.

That didn’t sound good.

"What?"

"It’s nothing to worry about... Well, if he doesn’t shoot me in the head first anyway," Sergei said, and Katya glared at him like this wasn’t the time for games.

Mr. Romanov had made sure his distaste for Sergei’s bond with Katya was obvious to the two of them, and pulling death jokes where his father was involved was a certain way to jinx himself.

That was not the kind of shit Katya wanted for Sergei.

"You don’t have to come with me, though. It won’t be long," Sergei added, and Katya let out a soft sigh.

"You do know how to duck, right?" Katya said, his tone different from the bratty one he’d been giving his alpha moments ago.

"Andre taught me," Sergei added with a smile, and Katya let out a sigh of relief, not even bothered by how the fuck his friend and Sergei had gotten to the same page to the point that Andre was giving Sergei safety tips in the Romanov household.

"Okay. Go, I’ll handle Petrov," Katya said, and Sergei didn’t ask any further questions, just gave Katya the cakes and walked away, leaving Katya with the mercs and the senator.

"You guys can leave too. I’ll be fine," Katya said, and like their boss, they walked back out the Romanov gates.

Then it was just Katya and an Alek who was still on his knees, like this was supposed to make Katya feel bad for him.

It was hilarious, really, and Katya stared at the alpha as if wondering what sort of logic Aleksandr Petrov had been hoping to use on or even against Katya.

"You should join the national theatre, you know," Katya said boredly as he set his cake over the flower bed for a moment.

"I should say the same for you, little rose. Trying so hard to prove to me that you’ve moved on, when you want me like I want you. I see the way you look at him; that was the greatest performance.

"But it’s time to know I’m the better choice for you. Not a man who doesn’t even understand you," Alek said, getting up as he dusted his knees. He was not even trying to play games anymore.

He looked genuinely convinced that Sergei and Katya were putting on a show.

"Four-month anniversary? Really?" Alek snorted as he stared at the cake box on the flower bed.

"I already told you, Petrov. Get out of here and don’t come back. You and I have no business with each other," Katya said, and Alek snorted.

"No business? So, you already let him fuck you then?" Alek laughed lowly in disgust, and Katya stared flatly.

He was affected by Alek’s words, but he would be damned if he let this man see it.

The way he was trying to keep himself together.

This bastard had called him a whore once and was still insinuating it again. Four months later.

"Why not? My alpha gives it to me good. Rips through me way better than you ever could. Touches me like I’m the only sin he doesn’t mind committing daily. Fucks the screams out of me and has me submitting willingly.

"You should see it sometime, maybe if I go back to my penthouse, let you watch how real men fuck through the surveillance system you set up there, hmm?" Katya said, and Alek stiffened.

Not because of the description Katya had given him.

But the mention of surveillance.

"What?" Alek asked in confusion.

Katya sighed as he looked at this alpha feigning ignorance.

"I know you set up cameras in my penthouse, Petrov. I trusted you. I loved you. And you returned the gesture with surveillance. Maybe it made you feel better about yourself over the years, right?

"Finally possessing the omega you’d been rambling about on news channels. Yet you couldn’t even get me to trust you enough to take your knot," Katya spat, fury in his eyes at the surveillance.

It was something that had Alek wondering what the fuck Katya was on about.

Alek had never put surveillance in Katya’s apartment or even penthouse.

Sure, he was twisted in his way of affection because Katya had already been just a job for him, but even he didn’t need to breach the omega’s privacy. He didn’t care enough to stoop that low.

But it also meant someone had.

"Are you sure you didn’t set them up for your precious Sergei? Saw you throwing yourself at him like a pretty little wh—" Alek didn’t finish the word.

Katya punched him square in the jaw, his head turning to the side as two of his teeth fell to the lawn.

"What the f—"

Katya smacked him in the face.

Twice.

"You call me a whore again, and I’ll have your tongue, Petrov. Don’t play with me. I told you... I’m a Romanov omega. No one will come after me if I choose violence, so be careful. No one," Katya said before kicking Alek in the groin harshly.

The alpha fell to the lawn, clutching his groin and whimpering in pain while Katya just stared at him boredly.

Then the omega took his cake from the flower bed and walked back to the house.

But not before kicking Alek in the abdomen twice for good measure.

Grumbling, Katya walked to the kitchen and put his cake in the fridge before cleaning his hands harshly, like he was not in the mood to deal with anything more about Aleksandr.

"You stood up for yourself, my little Michka," Masha said, making Katya squeak, surprised.

"Mama!" Katya sighed, hand on his chest as he slowed his breathing.

"He must have said something that pissed you off... Wanna talk about it?" Masha asked as she handed her son the paper towels.

"Tried calling me a whore again," Katya said, and Masha grabbed a knife from the utensil rack.

"Told him I’d cut his tongue if he tried that again. That I’m a Romanov omega... Ughh, why did I even do that!" Katya groaned like he didn’t like that version of himself.

Like he’d never been violent, and frankly, this was really the first time he had been.

"My baby is finally defending himself," Masha said proudly, putting the knife back.

"I don’t like violence, mama," Katya sighed.

"Self-defense is never violence. Besides, you’re always going to be my sweet child... now come along. We need to save your boyfriend from your father," Masha said, the words falling smoothly from her lips.

"B... Boyfriend?" Katya blushed hard.

"Might not be for long if your father’s katana has anything to say about it," Masha laughed, and Katya joined in, following her.
