Chapter 30: A major shareholder

With the Qing Family’s influence and Seth’s connection, Sienna had expected this news to be taken down soon.

But knowing that they had already received a blow, she was not too bothered about it.

Unexpectedly, someone else had no intention of dropping the matter.

Sienna looked at the caller ID: Personal Demon. After giving it a thought, she texted him.

[Sienna: It looks like you have a hand in my first victory.]

She was about to put the phone down when she saw him typing within 0.1 second.

[Personal Demon: The victory is yours. I merely collected the heads as your trophy.]

Sienna smiled as she put her phone down.

When she caught the reflection of her own face in the mirror, she immediately stopped smiling and patted her cheeks before rushing to the bathroom.

By 10 am, the core shareholders and directors of Qing Empire had gathered in the company headquarters for an official meeting.

"The share prices have been dropping rapidly, President. What should we do?" An old director took the initiative to question Daniel Qing.

"Yes, we expected things to settle down after your interview. But now, following the release of the video..." The shareholder glanced at Kira who occupied the seat beside the CEO, "Things have worsened."

"We have had a few major losses but apart from that, even actors and actresses are breaking off their association with us to avoid getting involved in these scandals."

"Gentlemen," Daniel Qing spoke in a steady voice, "I understand where you are coming from but, you have to believe me. In no time, the Qing Empire is going to reach new heights by a collaboration with Hawke Corporations."

The meeting room descended in silence as people looked at each other in shock.

The Qing Family were no descendants of nobles, their standing in the society was backed by their wealth. But the Hawkes were the upper echelons of the society.

Although there were rumors about the Young Master of Hawke Family dating their President’s daughter, nobody had indulged in daydreams.

"That’s right, in no time, the Qings and Hawkes are going to become a family by a marital tie between Kira and Seth!" Daniel Qing’s words dropped like a bombshell.

And all the voices of criticism died down. Some of them had shown up to question Kira’s position as the rightful heiress but following Daniel Qing’s announcement, they could no longer question his decision.

"President, as your assistant, why is Miss Sienna absent from the meeting today?"

Everybody turned to look at the person who voiced the question. It was Director Ma, one of the oldest directors in the company.

Daniel Qing addressed the old man respectfully, even though there was a hint of dissatisfaction in his eyes, "Sienna has proved herself incapable for this position so I fired her."

He paused, then continued, "From now on, I urge you to put all your focus in teaching Kira. In the future, she will take my place and be your CEO..."

"President Qing, you still need to discuss the company affairs with the major shareholders before you reach a conclusion," a clear voice rang from the entrance of the meeting room.

All heads turned in the direction as the door opened, revealing a middle aged man dressed in a well-fitted dark suit and a sharp appearance.

Daniel Qing’s expressions changed slightly as he stood up and everybody followed suit.

"Vincent, what brings you here?" Daniel Qing scanned the meeting room and said, "Every shareholder who should be present in this meeting is already here. Who are you talking about?"

Without a word, Vincent entered the room as he looked back. The doors opened again and a pair of red heels entered their sight first.

Dressed in a classic black suit, Sienna entered the meeting room, "Everyone should be familiar with my mother’s private attorney, Vincent. He is here to represent me today."

Silence descended in the meeting room.

Standing on her father’s right side, Kira’s expressions twisted slightly. Till now, everybody was focused on her.

But it hadn’t been a minute since Sienna stepped inside and the entire room’s attention had turned to her.

"Sister, how could you bring a lawyer to the company headquarters? Are you fanning the flames outside? What would the people think?!" Kira walked towards Sienna, ready for a verbal spar.

But Sienna did not spare her a glance, "Vincent," she looked at the attorney.

The man nodded, "Miss Qing is here as a major shareholder of the Qing Empire, having control over 49% shares in total."

The words dropped on everybody like a bomb. Kira, who was approaching Sienna, tripped on her heels and grabbed onto the table for support.

"What are you saying?" Daniel Qing’s voice held a hint of threat.

Vincent stood unfazed, "Mr. Qing should know it better than me that these shares belonged to Mrs. Qing. In her will, she had passed them to her daughter."

"There are terms and conditions to that..."

"Miss Qing needs to be at least 24 and legally married before she can inherit these shares," Vincent stated calmly, "Both the factors have been verified by me and the court before the shares were transferred to Miss Qing’s name."

"Impossible!" Daniel Qing scoffed, "I haven’t received a single word from my legal team."

’Ring’

Daniel Qing pulled out his phone from his suit jacket and answered the call. Soon, his face ashened.

The man did not have to say a word. Just from the look on his face, everybody knew that Daniel Qing just received word from his legal team.

The boardroom went dead silent. Every eye locked onto him.

Kira rushed to his side and whispered, "Daddy, I don’t want to do this... but we should kick sister out before she hurts your image further in front of the board members!"

"Shut up," Daniel hissed, his face turning an ugly shade of purple.

With forty-nine percent, Sienna was two percent away from a hostile takeover. He couldn’t kick her out, he had to negotiate or lose everything.

Forcing a tight smile, he looked back at Sienna. "Sienna... since you are a major shareholder, you deserve a role. But stepping in a huge role in the headquarters requires experience."

A glint flashed in his eyes and it looked like he had already made his decision.
