Chapter 1550: Chapter 779: Forces and Strength Soaring

However, a few homeless captives expressed their desire to join Lin Beichen’s base, and Lin Beichen did not refuse them.

After a brief rest, another hour passed.

Lin Beichen took the original team and left the base again, heading for a nearby base.

Of course, he didn’t bring the previously injured members, but instead replaced them with a few others.

The entire team still marched grandly to the vicinity of the enemy’s base entrance.

The enemy quickly discovered their arrival.

However, Lin Beichen hadn’t intended to hide his whereabouts; with so many people, how could they possibly conceal themselves?

His informants found out that this base was called Ford Mercenary Corps, a mercenary group mainly involved in arms trafficking.

As for where their arms came from, it was either stealing from the military or other bases.

So their strength was quite decent, significantly more formidable than the human trafficking base they had destroyed previously.

But Lin Beichen still didn’t take them seriously. Of course, not taking them seriously doesn’t mean he would be careless; even a lion uses all its strength to hunt a rabbit—Lin Beichen understood this principle.

Moreover, he didn’t want his subordinates to suffer heavy losses.

This time, seeing Lin Beichen and his team’s aggressive approach, the opponents didn’t open fire immediately but instead sent a minor leader out to negotiate with Lin Beichen.

He raised his gun, walked over slowly, and, upon nearing, casually tossed it aside.

Patting the dust off his body, he signaled that he wasn’t carrying any weapons and expressed his desire to talk with Lin Beichen.

After pondering for a moment, Lin Beichen agreed.

This was the second base in their current action plan they aimed to attack. Regardless of the pace, Lin Beichen had decided they would attack at most two bases within a day. With expanded operational range in the future, perhaps they could only attack a base every day or every few days.

Hence, they weren’t in a hurry.

Noting this, the man approached, exhibiting a keen sense of understanding.

Seeing everyone stand behind Lin Beichen, he immediately realized that this was the leader of the opposing side.

Smiling sincerely, he asked, "Our base has never had any grievances with you all; may I inquire why you’ve come with such force today?"

Lin Beichen calmly responded, "Indeed, there’s no animosity between us."

"However, your existence impedes my plans."

Then, Lin Beichen paused briefly and spoke in a firm tone, "But I see you have some sense, not immediately taking action upon seeing us."

"Let’s do this; I can give you three choices."

Hearing these words, the minor leader from Ford Mercenary Corps felt displeased inwardly.

Lin Beichen’s words were too assertive, seemingly not considering the Ford Mercenary Corps at all.

But he wasn’t dim-witted and, given Lin Beichen’s confidence, perhaps there was something extraordinary about him. So, he decided to first hear what terms Lin Beichen would propose.

The minor leader from Ford Mercenary Corps then asked, "What are the three choices?"

"First, join our Wolf Fang Mercenary Corps."

"Second, disband your Ford Mercenary Corps on the spot."

"Third, I’ll eliminate all of you."

After stating this, Lin Beichen calmly fixed his gaze on the man.

If the man uttered anything disrespectful or didn’t comply with Lin Beichen’s wishes, Lin Beichen intended to immediately engage the Ford Mercenary Corps in battle.

The surrounding subordinates felt proud and admiring seeing their leader so assertive and imposing.

After all, following a leader who is both powerful and charismatic is a matter of pride!

Upon hearing the three conditions, the minor leader from Ford Mercenary Corps flickered with a hint of gloom.

The opponent’s words were exceedingly domineering, as if they had already determined the fate of the Ford Mercenary Corps.

Although the opponent had a considerable number, compared to the numbers inside the Ford Mercenary Corps base, it was merely a ratio of four to six.

The Ford Mercenary Corps had sent someone to negotiate in hopes of turning hostility into friendship. After all, even if they could defeat Lin Beichen and his men, they would suffer great losses themselves.

However, seeing the opponent’s subordinates appear unopposed to their leader’s three choices, the minor leader from Ford Mercenary Corps realized combat effectiveness can’t always be purely measured by numbers.

Status, weaponry, and individual capabilities are crucial factors.

Seeing the opponent silent and deep in thought, Lin Beichen urged, "You better make a decision quickly; I don’t have much time to waste on you."

He still needed to conquer the entire Golden Triangle; how could he waste too much time on one faction?

Upon hearing this, the minor leader from Ford Mercenary Corps raised his head and said, "I need to discuss this with our leader."

Lin Beichen nodded and said, "I naturally understand that."

"But don’t take too long; I’m only giving you fifteen minutes."

With that, Lin Beichen took out a timer, "Starting now."

"If time runs out, you should know what I’ll do."

Finally, Lin Beichen coldly stared at the man, indicating he should quickly return to discuss with his leader.

The minor leader from Ford Mercenary Corps was startled by Lin Beichen’s gaze.

Such indifferent and serene eyes; he had never seen them—almost as if life was utterly disregarded.

Glancing at the timing timer, he knew the opponent wasn’t joking, so he immediately turned around and ran off, shouting, "I hope our leader can make the right choice."
