Chapter 1535: Chapter 771: Aixius’s Thoughts (2)

But the moment he felt Lin Beichen’s cold gaze sweep over him, he shuddered all over. He knew perfectly well that this was no time to worry about his buddies; he should be thinking about his own safety.

"So now, do you feel like our fists are big enough?"

Lin Beichen hooked up a playful smile at the corner of his mouth and asked.

"B‑big... Big Brother, spare me!" The robber stammered, begging for mercy over and over.

"From now on you better stick to the professional ethics of your line of work. If you say you only rob money, then only rob money. Don’t go changing your mind every other minute."

With that, Lin Beichen slammed a heavy punch into the robber’s face, making his nose spurt blood as he collapsed to the floor and screamed in pain.

The two of them had already eaten and drunk their fill, but after this whole incident, they naturally had no mood to keep eating.

Lin Beichen confiscated the two robbers’ guns, then walked out of the restaurant together with Aixius.

As for how to deal with the two robbers, Lin Beichen figured that now that they’d lost their weapons and there were so many people in the restaurant, there’s no way those two idiots would be let off easily.

The two got in the car and headed for the hotel.

As soon as she got in, Aixius started yelling excitedly, "Does what we just did count as drawing our blades to help when we see injustice on the road?"

Lin Beichen rolled his eyes at her and said irritably, "No. Those two robbers clearly came looking for trouble with us first."

"You can only say we took care of a nuisance while we were at it."

"Eh? Is that so?" Aixius clearly hadn’t realized that this was the crux of the matter. She looked disappointed. "So that means we don’t count as heroes yet?"

At that moment, Lin Beichen finally understood why Aixius was so set on learning Martial Arts.

This girl was just like a lot of Huaxia people—probably influenced by those wuxia movies when she was little, with a head full of fantasies about roaming the world and righting wrongs.

Deep down, I’ve always yearned to become a carefree, righteous hero who rights wrongs.

"Next time, don’t copy me. Getting into close combat with an enemy holding a gun is way too dangerous."

Lin Beichen suddenly pulled out the guns he’d taken off the two robbers earlier, turned his head and asked Aixius, "Do you know how to use a gun?"

"I think practicing with guns is way easier than practicing Martial Arts, and it works faster."

Aixius nodded without the slightest hesitation, fully agreeing with that statement.

But when Lin Beichen asked if she knew how to use a gun, a hint of embarrassment flashed in her eyes as she stammered, "I know a tiny little bit."

Lin Beichen glanced at her and pressed, "What level is ’a tiny little bit’?"

"Do you know how to take off the safety, change magazines, aim?"

"At what distance can you guarantee a hundred percent headshot?"

That kind of vague answer is exactly how big accidents happen.

So Lin Beichen didn’t want anything like that. He intended to get a clear picture.

Seeing she couldn’t hide it, Aixius stuck out her tongue and said sheepishly, "I’ve just touched a gun before, that’s all."

When Lin Beichen heard that, he almost drove the car straight into someone’s storefront.

"What?!"

"No need to be so shocked." Aixius said with a hint of reproach.

"Is it that weird not knowing how to use a gun?"

"It’s not like eating or sleeping—how could everyone know how?"

Lin Beichen gave a dry laugh. "Mm, that does make some sense."

But there was another half of the sentence he didn’t say aloud—this is the Golden Triangle, a pretty chaotic place. Some kids here know how to use guns, yet Aixius doesn’t know at all. He found that really strange.

"Once we get back to the hotel, I’ll start by teaching you the theory."

Lin Beichen said next. He’d already thought having Aixius around him was bound to be dangerous, and now it turned out she didn’t even know how to use a gun. That wouldn’t do, so he planned to give her some special training.

Not long after, the two returned to the hotel room.

"Ah, I’m so tired, I’m going to sleep." As soon as she entered the room, Aixius flopped onto the bed and shouted.

Lin Beichen knew she was faking it. After all, they hadn’t really done anything all day—how tired could she be?

Oh, if we had to count what Aixius did, it would probably be grabbing a chair and smashing a robber.

"Tired, tired, tired, you didn’t do a damn thing and you still dare to say you’re tired." As Lin Beichen spoke, he took out a pistol and, in the blink of an eye, disassembled it into scattered parts.

Seeing this, Aixius stared in amazement and asked, "What are you doing?"

"The poor gun didn’t offend you. Why are you taking it apart like that?"

Lin Beichen rolled his eyes at her again and explained, "What do you know? I’m going to train you."

"First I’ll teach you how to assemble a gun."

Aixius looked a bit puzzled. "Why start with that?"

"Shouldn’t you teach me how to shoot and kill the enemy first?"

Lin Beichen walked over and lightly tapped Aixius on the head. "You have to start with the basics, and this particular basic is especially important. If the gun breaks or jams, just knowing how to shoot is useless."

"Besides, it’s the middle of the night. You want to fire a gun in the hotel?"

"You’re not afraid of drawing people over?"

"Ow." Aixius rubbed her head and said in a mock pout, "I’m already not that smart. If you keep tapping me, you’re going to knock me stupid."

Lin Beichen hadn’t used any real force—he was just teasing her.

Looking at her like this, if he didn’t know exactly how light his touch was, just her expression alone could fool a lot of people.

"Oh, if I knock you stupid, I’ll take responsibility." As he spoke, Lin Beichen even pretended he was about to tap her head again.

"Take responsibility how..." Hearing that, Aixius didn’t know what she’d thought of, but she actually looked a bit shy.

"Of course I’d be responsible for finding you a doctor who can fix you." Lin Beichen answered without hesitation.

When Aixius heard that, she suddenly realized, "So that’s what you meant. I thought..."

"Thought what? What did you think I meant?"

Lin Beichen laid out the gun parts on the table, then looked at Aixius. "Quit dawdling, get over here and learn to assemble."

"And if the doctor can’t fix me?" Aixius sat down at the table, staring at the gun parts in front of her while grumbling in her heart.

"Can’t fix you? Then I’ll find some Feng Shui treasure land to bury you in." Lin Beichen covered his mouth as he laughed. "See? I’m good to you, right?"

"Hmph, no need. Save that Feng Shui treasure land for yourself." Aixius said angrily.

Then she irritably started assembling the gun parts, but the more she tried, the more of a mess she made.

In a rage, she slammed the parts back onto the table. "I can’t assemble it, I can’t learn it."

"I’m just this stupid."

As she spoke, her voice grew more and more aggrieved, and she was almost on the verge of tears.

All his life, the thing Lin Beichen dreaded most was girls crying—especially Aixius, who had something to do with him.

He hurried to comfort her. "Don’t rush. I’ll teach you."

As he said this, Lin Beichen didn’t think too much of it and sat down right next to Aixius, so close their bodies were practically touching.

Their bodies were almost pressed together.

Lin Beichen picked up a barrel and a frame shell and said to Aixius, "Start with these two. You put them together like this."

He slowly assembled the two parts in front of Aixius, then began putting together the next set of components.

Patient and meticulous, Lin Beichen taught Aixius how to assemble the gun step by step. But after a little while, he realized she wasn’t watching his hands at all—her eyes were glued to his face.

Looking puzzled, Lin Beichen asked, "Why are you staring at my face? Did flowers grow on it?"

"Ahem." Aixius forced herself to act calm and said with a straight face, "Um, my mom told me that when someone’s talking, you should look at them instead of staring all over the place. That’s polite."

"Is that really what she said?" Lin Beichen asked, half suspicious.

Aixius nodded like a pecking chick and hurriedly said, "Aren’t you going to teach me how to assemble the gun? Why’d you stop?"

Lin Beichen rolled his eyes and said, "Stop looking at me. Watch my hands, otherwise I feel like I’m teaching for nothing."

"Okay, okay, I’ll do as you say. I’ll definitely listen."

Seeing Aixius say that, Lin Beichen nodded and went on slowly assembling the gun again.

His hands were really nice to look at—but it was these very hands that were so capable, who knows how many lives they’d taken.

Lin Beichen thought Aixius was seriously watching him assemble the gun. If he knew what was running through her head, he’d probably be so mad he’d spit blood.

"Now it’s your turn, give it a try." After assembling it completely one more time, Lin Beichen said to Aixius.
