Cleaver Of Sin
Chapter 1199: Underestimated
Her head snapped backwards as she turned, her sabre flashing upwards as she raised it for a block like a shield. With a battering impact, Damian’s foot met the flat side of her sabre with devastating force, the impact shooting higher into the sky and shattering the clouds above.
In a blur, both of them vanished from their positions as they appeared higher in the sky, their feet meeting the bodies of various clouds as they flashed through the sky endlessly.
Shockwaves and blast waves from Damian’s fist attacks shook the entire sky itself while the Grand Regent’s ridiculous swordsmanship tore through each attack like a razor through paper.
’Even her swordsmanship has improved to this degree?’
Damian couldn’t help but ask himself as they both fell from the sky while they gazed into each other’s eyes like couples on the verge of divorce.
While Damian might not be interested in the sword, he still knew one or two things about the sword and could tell how strong someone was depending on their base swordsmanship. He could tell that the Grand Regent’s swordsmanship had become far more refined than it had been in their previous battle.
Within seconds, they reached the earth, their feet meeting the greenery of the forest with a deft touch as they landed with perfect control despite falling from thousands of meters.
"It seems I underestimated your improvement."
Damian stated as the smile on his face began to vanish, his entire demeanor changing subtly as he knew he could no longer play around with his woman or he would pay the price through a critical or fatal injury.
"And although I would love to say that your improvement is the most ridiculous I’ve seen in the past two centuries, unfortunately, I have a monster for a nephew, and my older brother is also of the same category."
He stated as he stood in a carefree stance.
The Grand Regent began to walk forward ever so slowly as she spoke in an indifferent tone.
"I told you, Damian, any conversation will be settled when your head is no longer on your shoulders. Until then, just save and keep whatever you want and wish to say in your brain."
As those words left her lips, she moved once more, her speed increasing as veins traced her body. Appearing before Damian, she raised her sabre and brought it down in a wicked overhead swing.
Damian could feel the sheer physical power behind that attack, but he remained in place as he raised his arm over his head for a block. Another echo of destruction erupted as sabre met forearm.
Damian’s feet sank into the earth as a yawning ravine tore open. But Damian didn’t just block; he attacked as he punched at the Grand Regent’s exposed stomach.
The Grand Regent didn’t bother to block, she simply twisted out of the way, her sword moving with her as she unleashed another slash at Damian’s side, aiming to draw blood and deal an injury.
Damian’s mind, body, and soul recalibrated as he instantly caught the sabre between his palms. He bent his arm to break the sabre, but before he could, the wind barrier around his head collapsed as the Grand Regent unleashed a high knee kick to his temple.
Damian’s senses snapped towards the incoming attack, his left hand leaving the sabre as he moved to block. His palm met the Grand Regent’s kneecap as he blocked effortlessly. As he blocked, his right foot left the ground as he unleashed his own knee attack, but aimed at the Grand Regent’s chest.
With her sword now free, the Grand Regent recalibrated as she simply raised the sharp part of her sabre before her chest for a block and an attack. If Damian’s attack connected, he would be injured instead.
As Damian’s knee was less than a picosecond away from connecting with the sabre, he paused midway as he had anticipated the attack long ago, his right fist shooting outwards like a missile as his knuckles connected with the Grand Regent’s chest.
The force of the punch thundered into the Grand Regent, shooting her backwards like a discarded ragdoll. But as she shot backwards, Damian shot backwards as the moment the Grand Regent received an attack and tore backwards, she stomped her left foot into Damian’s chest with wicked strength.
Damian twisted as he landed, his body skidding backwards as he carved trenches into the earth. He gazed at his fist; it trembled for a moment after he had landed an attack, which went to show how tough and ridiculous the Grand Regent’s body had gotten.
But he wasn’t the only one to feel it, the Grand Regent who had stomped into Damian’s chest also felt her left ankle go numb like she had kicked some steel plate.
’We are equal in physical strength and speed.’
They both thought at the same time as their eyes met, as they both couldn’t believe it. They had both thought they were superior to the other, and yet, they were physically equal.
"This keeps getting better and better."
Damian stated with a chuckle as he wondered what this woman had been through for her to grow so much.
His eyes blazed with battle intent, his knees dipped forward, then he shot forward in a blur, the sand under his feet tearing backwards for ten kilometers as a result of him just pushing off his feet.
Arriving before the Grand Regent, he unleashed a punch to the sternum. The woman reacted as she moved to block. As his gauntlet was about to meet the sword, Damian paused, his body swaying to the side as his earlier attack had been a feint.
Arriving beside the Grand Regent, he unleashed an uppercut from underneath her armpit. The Grand Regent tried to block with her left palm, but Damian had already closed the distance between his fist and her jaw. With ramming impact, the force travelled through her body, snapping her head upwards, her feet lifting off the ground as she shot into the air like a kite.
As she shot upwards, Damian didn’t give chase, his left arm simply took the form of a sword as he unleashed an upward martial chop swing towards the skyward Grand Regent. An arc of wind pressure capable of cutting through a Crownstar Life Rank was forced into reality and shot upwards.
The Grand Regent regained herself, her eyes snapping to the incoming attack, and with that, she unleashed a singular slash. One motion bore two motions as two slashes appeared, both of them layering into each other, forming a cross-shaped attack. The attack tore downwards, meeting Damian’s wind arc martial chop.
A catastrophic crescendo beyond all sense of scale erupted as both attacks met head-on. Screaming wind pressure and surges tore through the entire battle, the sword cross-shaped attack lashing through everything and all things as trees were diced into cubes, chasms tore open, trenches were carved upon the earth as space cracked as it was about to collapse at any given moment.
A whopping hundred thousand kilometers of radius was reduced to utter rubble as stones, choking dust, and blinding waves of grime and powder covered the entire battlefield. Yet through the battlefield, these two didn’t stop. Damian appeared above the Grand Regent like a ghost, his foot raised towards the sky, then he brought it down like a judgment hammer upon the Grand Regent’s head.
