Cleaver Of Sin

Chapter 1115: Zero Degree

Asher first began by increasing his control over flame. Although this place wasn’t tailored for his StellarFlame since he wasn’t using ordinary flames, Asher didn’t mind; this place was helping him a whole lot more than he could accomplish in his room.

Without wasting too much time, he created a Flame Clone, as he had decided to stop limiting himself to just the Photon Clone. And as usual, the Flame Clone could only use the StellarFlame element.

’I wonder if I can create a Star Clone,’ he pondered as he trained. He didn’t know if it was possible, but only time would tell.

Besides, he had plans to create clones for all his elements, then sort of combine them. That way, he could finally create a clone that could use all his affinities instead of having them restricted. But how he would do that, he didn’t know. When it was time for that, he would brainstorm about it.

Until then, he would focus on his current training and leave everything else for the future.

His control over the StellarFlame increased over time to the point that he could now turn his body into StellarFlame. Not only that, he had created a way to teleport to the nearest flame. While he could teleport normally, this was different. With his method, his body sensed the flames around him and simply teleported towards them without him using his spatial affinity or anything of the sort.

Although he didn’t know if he would have any use for such a skill in the future, it didn’t matter. It was progress, and nobody would say no to progress, right?

Asher didn’t celebrate the ability for too long; he continued his training as time passed. A whole week vanished as he remained within the volcano. Once in a while, the volcano would erupt, breaking his concentration, but he had no complaints. After all, he was literally inside the volcano itself.

During his training, he had an idea to create laser beams from his eyes, but he wasn’t sure if that was a flame based attack or light, or perhaps a mixture of the two.

He contemplated it for a moment, then decided to do it. During the training of this ability, his left eye exploded, but Virelass was always ready to act, so Asher wasn’t worried. After a couple of hours, he could now shoot a flame laser beam from his eyes.

He had tested it, and it was powerful, the output scaling with the energy source, which was either Star Energy or Astra Energy. He had tried shooting the flame based laser in two different directions, one moving to the left and another to the right, but he had failed unless he manually manipulated it, which kind of defeated the purpose. If he wanted to do that, he would just wave his hand and do it.

Asher transitioned to another skill. The idea was simple. A few Monsters possessed thermal abilities, from which they could sense and see Humans and other life forms. Now, what if he controlled this temperature, not necessarily raising it, as that was what any flame user might do, but instead lowering it?

While this was the domain of people with Ice and Water affinities, who said those with the ability to manipulate fire couldn’t do this? If he lowered the heat in someone’s body to zero, would they drop dead? Would their organs immediately collapse and send them into a form of shock? He didn’t know. After all, even a fresh corpse was still warm.

Yet again, there was no one to train on. He could only find a unique solution to his problem. After a moment of thought, Asher seemed to finally find an idea.

What if he tried to reduce the heat and flame around a localized area of the Flame Sea to zero? Although it was almost the same thing, it wasn’t, as doing this here would be harder than perfecting it on someone.

Still, he tried. After all, doing this here meant he would instantly get the hang of it when he used it on a person for the first time. He rose and shot out of the volcano. It was simply impossible to achieve such a thing within the volcano with his current control over flames.

Getting to the outer part of the Flame Sea, where the heat was the weakest and the fire was ’less,’ he sat down in a lotus position as usual. He took a deep breath in, and the moment he did, the flames responded as a fire wave surged upwards around him in bright orange.

He exhaled, and the surging fire wave cooled down to its normal temperature. His eyes opened as he tapped into the Fire Element in the air, his Astra Energy coming to life as he manipulated the temperature to plummet.

The Fire Element answered his command as the temperature began to plummet, but as it did, the Flame Element in the area immediately surged towards Asher, breaking his control as though anything related to lowering temperature here wasn’t acceptable by any standard.

But Asher didn’t care. It wasn’t like this place was alive or anything of the sort. So he simply created a dome of Flame Element that kept the other Flame Elements out and allowed him to do what he wanted to do.

He tapped into his control again and lowered the temperature in the Flame Sea yet again. The fall was happening with frightening speed, but the more the temperature dropped, the more pressure Asher felt on the dome of Flame Element he had created.

Then suddenly, Asher’s control began to falter. It became harder and harder to reduce the temperature, but he pushed through. The next moment, the temperature hit a perfect zero degrees Celsius.

Asher sat frozen in place as his skin felt the cold. He could feel it. Anyone who stood here would feel the biting cold. Asher couldn’t help but be amazed at his effect. Unfortunately, he couldn’t lower the temperature anymore, as that was impossible for a Flame user.

But as he was basking in his minor achievement, from the churning black smoke in the sky, a colossal pillar of bright orange power, enough to wipe out an entire Noble Territory, screamed downward upon Asher’s head and his Flame Elemental dome.

Asher’s head snapped upwards, and all that met him was the pure wrath of the Flame Sea. The attack landed head-on. Asher didn’t move as he tanked the attack with his body. He was immune to Flame based attacks, so he didn’t care. The next moment, the attack stopped.

The cold Asher had created vanished, leaving only him, who was now naked and sitting on the ground.

Asher sighed. He wasn’t bothered by the Flame Sea attacking him. Even if the attack could harm him, he knew that it wasn’t enough to kill him, as the Flame Sea had considered the amount of attack he could take head-on. He understood that obviously the Flame Sea would be furious or angry if it sensed anything related to either ice or water here.

Flame and Water/Ice were never at peace, after all.
