More than an hour had passed since she finished showering, changed into fresh clothes, and been shown to one of the residence’s lounges, yet Amalia still seemed to be in something of a daze.

Farah had left long ago as she had to file a report about the recent wilderness survival training she had just overseen, but she had promised to return later that evening to properly catch up.

"Are you alright, Grandma?" Braden asked.

At first, he and Edward had just thought Amalia was tired, or overwhelmed by the sudden change in circumstances, after all, they certainly were, but with her just sitting there, staring off into space, they were beginning to become a bit concerned.

Fortunately, after being called out to, Amalia seemed to snap out of trance and nodded, "I’m... I’m alright. I think."

Her answer was hardly comforting, but if she said she was alright, the two men figured they should trust her.

Hoping to distract his wife from whatever it was that was troubling her, Edward suggested, "The servants here brought us some snacks... cookies, I believe they called them, and some tea. Would you like some?"

Neither he nor Braden had touched the food, despite it having been brought over just seconds after they had sat down, as they thought it would be rude to do so while Amalia was still in a daze.

Having not been able to process the idea of possibly having a princess as a granddaughter-in-law, Amalia simply nodded, figuring she might as well fill her stomach a bit instead of just stressing herself out.

Seeing her nod, Braden quickly moved to pour tea for his grandparents before also pouring himself a cup.

After each of them took a sip, a look of satisfaction flashed across their faces.

As one would expect of the tea being served to family members of a Marquess’ True Disciple, it was of exceptional quality, Low-Rank Mortal Grade Tier 3 to be exact.

The tea had obviously gone cold by now, but it was still extremely delicious and refreshing. Even the fact that it was cold could be seen as a positive given the fact that it was still the middle of summer.

Disciples House was naturally equipped with Chilling Spirit Tools to keep its temperature more comfortable during the hot season, but that didn’t mean it wasn’t still a bit warm.

In other words, a cold drink was just what all of them needed right now

After having sated their thirst, the trio reached for the cookies.

They looked similar to the hard biscuits they were used to carrying with them while on the road, but none of them believed that the staff here would offer them common travel rations.

On top of that, the smell these cookies gave off was quite pleasant and inviting, so none of them hesitated to take a bite.

The next instant, Edward, Amalia, and Braden’s eyes bulged before they hurriedly began chewing.

A noble should always maintain proper appearances, that was a lesson all of them had been taught at one point or another, but in the face of such a sweet, delectable treat, none of them could be bothered about such trivialities.

A few minutes later, the whole plate of cookies had been thoroughly devoured and Amalia now had a blush on her cheeks, embarrassed at how un-ladylike she had just acted.

Edward and Braden, on the other hand, were openly licking their fingers with looks of delight on their faces. The two of them were probably even contemplating if they should lick the plate itself to get the last few crumbs that were left, but it seemed they still retained enough shame to not do so.

"That was..." Amalia muttered aloud, her words trailing off at the end.

"The best," Braden declared unequivocally, with Edward nodding along in agreement.

The showers were already great, and the tea was certainly satisfying, but these cookies were just on a whole other level.

Never in his life had Braden ever eaten anything as delicious.

Thinking that his aunt and little cousin could probably eat as many of these cookies as they wanted, anytime they wanted, the young man suddenly couldn’t help feeling a bit jealous.

Even Edward was having a hard time recalling the last time he savoured something so appetizing.

Just as the trio were basking in the afterglow of the snack they had shared, a knock sounded at the door.

Quickly wiping the crumbs from her lips and composing herself, Amalia called out, "Please come in."

When the doors opened, a young girl, probably around 16-years-old, with long brown hair, wearing what looked like adventurer’s armour, entered and bowed politely, "Hello, I was told Eris’ grandparents had arrived, so I came to offer my greetings."

"That’s very thoughtful of you, Young Lady..." Edward smiled warmly and asked.

"Ah, right!" The young girl realized she had made a mistake and bowed again, quickly introducing herself, "My name is Danika, Danika Emerson. I have been staying here in Misty City for the past few months for training."

"It’s very nice to meet you, Young Lady Emerson," Amalia also smiled, thinking that this girl was quite cute.

As she was thinking so, however, a very different thought suddenly came to Amalia, Wait, that name sounds somewhat familiar... especially the surname Emerson. Isn’t that the surname of...

Stiffening up significantly in her seat, the old woman asked hesitantly, "Y-Young Lady Emerson, w-would you happen to be related to Lord Perry Emerson in some what?"

Lowering her head somewhat shyly, Danika nodded and replied in a quiet voice, "En, he’s my father."

Edward and Amalia literally leapt to their feet upon hearing this, swiftly performed a deep, noble bow, and practically shouted, "Greetings, Young Lady Emerson! Please forgive our rudeness just now!"

Braden, who was a little ignorant of the higher-ups of the Rockwell Kingdom, didn’t understand what was going on, but seeing his grandparents suddenly acting so respectfully to this girl who seemed even younger than he was, he too quickly got to his feet and bowed alongside them.

Waving her hands in something of a panic, Danika shook her head and hastily called out, "T-There’s no need for that! My father may be First Minister, but I’m just an ordinary girl!"

The daughter of the First Minister is, by definition, NOT ORDINARY!, was the exact thought that went through Edward and Amalia’s heads.
