Chosen: Beyond Fate
Chapter 199.2: Time Rewind Part 2
Tong Shan frowned, not understanding what Ji Jue meant. He glanced back at the young man, but the moment his telekinesis picked up the abnormal rhythm of Ji Jue’s heartbeat, something clicked in his mind.
Wen Wen, the hospital, Ji Jue, North Mount...
He asked, “Are these the same goods as last time?”
Ji Jue nodded decisively. “Yeah, they all are. They’re explosive goods. They need to be handled carefully. If there’s a leak, we’ll be in trouble.”
“Why didn’t you say so earlier?” Tong Shan asked, displeased. “Ji Xue, Ji Liu, go help out. Don’t let Xuan move these things alone.”
The siblings nodded and turned toward the unloading area. As they moved the equipment, Xu Guan stepped forward and brushed past Ji Jue, following close behind Tong Shan.
Tong Shan reached out and patted Mr. Tian on the shoulder. “Sir, there’s quite a bit to unload. Think you could spare a few—”
Boom!
A deafening thunderclap split the heavens.
Mr. Tian didn’t even have time to react before he was blasted backward by a sudden burst of telekinesis. One moment he was completely still. The next, he was sent flying.
In a heartbeat, the entire area around him was sealed off by telekinetic force, locked in place, then violently repelled and accelerated to a terrifying speed of over ten kilometers per second. He was thrown out like a cannonball fired from the barrel.
Under acceleration so violent it could turn anyone’s brain into mush in a flash, he had no chance to react or resist. A raging storm erupted around him as he tore through a tent and smashed through the railings. He tumbled through the air, then plowed a deep trench in the ground. After crashing through multiple walls and cutting straight across the entire base, he finally slammed into some ruins.
The earth shook as a howling storm swept through the camp.
But before that, the moment Tong Shan’s telekinesis warning came, Ji Jue dropped low. With a sweeping kick, he tripped Lou Feng, who had been standing there like an idiot, then pinned him to the ground, making him fall face-first into the mud.
“You bastard, what the hell—” Lou Feng was furious, but then he felt a gale and countless pieces of shattered stone race past the back of his head.
The wild wind dispersed, and the thunderous roar stopped. Even the rubble that had struck him seemed to lose its weight, breaking free of the earth’s gravity and rising upward along with countless motes of dust.
If Ji Jue had been even a little slower, he might have been knocked over and blown away by a storm of fragments with a force comparable to an exploding grenade. Cold sweat poured down Lou Feng’s back.
“Open—”
Before everyone’s eyes, the tightly bound and coiled flag in Tong Shan’s hand manifested itself. He raised it and drove it straight into the ground, embedding it deep into the iron and stone. Boundless power used it as its anchor and turned into visible ripples, spreading in every direction until it enveloped the entire base.
The massive base flickered for a brief moment, as though it were nothing more than an illusion. Tong Shan’s pupils contracted as it observed that.
The scene was defined by utter devastation. There was only a sea of scarlet left, with no trace of life. Nobody could even sigh. The moment he closed his eyes and went all out, he unleashed everything.
On the flagpole, the tightly bound flag unfurled. Across its blank surface, many overlapping patterns and emblems flashed until an abstract circular emblem emerged. It was like a great, fiery star burning without end.
As the event records of boundless celestial phenomena appeared within it and flowed forth, dazzling radiance swallowed everything. Aether records poured out, filled the space, and merged into a single entity. Using this vast telekinetic force, one that seemed to rival the movement of the heavens themselves, he caused all phenomena to manifest once more.
In the dark sky above, it was as if scarlet ink had been splashed across the heavens. Beneath the smooth, flowing strokes of an invisible brush, the outline of a burning star emerged. Crimson flames dispersed, covering most of the sky.
Amid endless thunderous roars, immense telekinetic forces intertwined. The air was given substance, and distant history and past events were given an entirely new interpretation. A massive star, large enough to cover more than half the night sky, manifested beneath the weaving of telekinesis.
Even though Tong Shan had left the Aether Path and devoted himself to Origin, he had never failed to live up to his family’s teachings and legacy. In fact, with the help and support of his elders, he had used himself as the point of convergence to overlap Origin and Aether!
This was the Time Rewind that Tong Shan had reconstructed through the Origin Path. At once, boundless pressure descended from the sky, completely covering the entire base shrouded in illusion, suppressing all resistance and crushing every mirage.
Everything was collapsing. As illusions dispersed one by one, a blurred silhouette emerged from the shadows right behind Tong Shan.
No one knew when he had appeared at such a close distance, nor how he had bypassed all layers of telekinetic detection and observation. The moment his disguise fell apart, all that was revealed was a killing intent and chill so terrifying that every soul and living thing trembled before it.
Repulsive force surged like a tide, yet with a casual wave of that figure’s hand, the crushing pressure was split open by the blade no more than three cun long. He advanced through the gap with effortless ease.
Even if his disguise had been exposed, it didn’t matter. The fall of a star was indeed terrifying, but it still required time. Within ten steps, he was already within range. The kill was certain.
Silver light surged upstream against the tide, soaring with graceful ease. Wherever it passed, every barrier and defense formed by telekinesis shattered like a fleeting illusion.
Behind Tong Shan, Xu Guan found himself completely unable to react. As the cold silver light charged forward, his soul was suppressed by the overwhelming force of the killing intent. He struggled to raise a hand and block, but he was too late.
That eerie figure passed straight by him and continued forward with effortless ease, thrusting the blade forward.
And then, it was crushed into pieces, as if some fool who had appeared out of nowhere had willingly thrown himself into a wood chipper spinning at full speed. Metal was reduced to dust, while bone and flesh were ground into a muddy paste.
Amid the sudden, violent upheaval, only a lone figure was sent screaming backward like a ragged doll. More than half of his body had already been crushed, torn apart, and vaporized by the terrifying pressure of a falling star. His broken body kept taking the form of a shadow, tumbling backward again and again. On his shattered face, his confusion and horror were impossible to conceal.
In response, Tong Shan, who finally turned around, merely glanced at him indifferently and commented, “What a clown.”
The falling star was merely a shadow of yesterday, recreated through telekinetic manipulation and Void Shaping. What need was there for any further descent? The moment it appeared, all destruction had already been completed.
You sorry creatures are already standing within the shadow of annihilation!
The flag that had been driven into the ground was slowly pulled free. As Tong Shan swung it, the sharp-edged finial at the top of the flagpole gently struck the ground.
A thin crack appeared where it struck, quickly spreading forward. In the blink of an eye, it crawled hundreds of meters, splitting until it reached the end of the camp.
Then came the chain reaction of destruction, roaring like thunder. The earth split, and the heavens fell!
