The phone rang twice before someone picked up.

On the other end of the line, Jiang Sifan was in the middle of a class.

Zhao Tianyu was leaning against the wall, one hand covering his red, swollen cheek. He felt a flicker of fear when he saw the look in Jiang Sifan’s eyes, but he refused to back down. "What, you called for backup? I’m not scared no matter how many of you show up. I already called the police. Just you wait."

Gao Lao took a step forward, glaring at Zhao Tianyu. "You called the police? You think spreading rumors makes you the victim here?"

Qiu Zai moved up as well, and the group of them surrounded Zhao Tianyu.

Zhao Tianyu took a step back, shouting to muster some courage. "What do you think you’re doing? This is a school!"

Jiang Sifan ignored him, turning to Jiang Silu. "What did he do to you?"

Jiang Silu quickly explained what had happened.

After she finished, Jiang Sifan’s expression darkened. He looked at Zhao Tianyu and said, "Delete every post and issue a public apology right now. Do that, and I can drop this."

"And who are you? You think I’ll delete them just because you tell me to?" Zhao Tianyu sneered.

Jiang Sifan stared at him, speaking slowly and menacingly. "I’ll say it again. Delete the posts. And apologize."

"I won’t. What are you going to do about it?" The intensity of the stare made Zhao Tianyu’s hair stand on end, but he forced himself to sound tough.

Just then, a set of hurried footsteps echoed from the end of the hallway.

Teacher Chen the counselor, Director Wang from the Landscape Architecture Department, and Director Li from the Electronics Department all came rushing over.

When Director Wang saw Jiang Silu’s red-rimmed eyes, his heart ached for her. He pointed at Zhao Tianyu and berated him, "You! What kind of student are you? Have you no moral compass? Spreading slanderous rumors... Don’t you know that’s illegal?"

When Principal Liu saw Lu Fan, then glanced at Jiang Silu, it finally clicked. His expression changed, and he hurried forward to greet him. "President Lu, what brings you here? We’re in the process of handling this matter..."

Zhao Tianyu’s legs felt weak under that stare. He opened his mouth, but not a single word came out.

Lu Fan turned to Principal Liu. His tone was even, but his eyes were murderous. "Principal Liu, my daughter has been slandered and defamed at your school. How do you intend to handle this?"

Principal Liu wiped the sweat from his brow and said hastily, "President Lu, rest assured, we will handle this with the utmost gravity and ensure justice is done for Silu."

Lu Fan nodded. "Good. I’ll be waiting right here at the school today."
