Chapter 362: Chapter 220: Jiang Silu Calls Him Dad for the First Time, a Relationship Breakthrough
Meanwhile.
In a girls’ dorm at Jinling University, four young women were curled up on their beds, scrolling through their phones.
Lu Yao suddenly sat up, slapped her phone down on the bed, and exclaimed, "Let’s go to the beach tomorrow! Who’s in?"
Song Miaomiao, startled, poked her head out from under the covers. "What’s gotten into you? It’s the middle of the night."
"Tomorrow’s Saturday, no classes, and the weather’s supposed to be great!" Lu Yao chuckled, crossing her legs and counting on her fingers. "I checked the forecast. It’s going to be sunny, so let’s go to the beach! I haven’t seen the ocean in forever. The last time was in Suzhou, and that was only thanks to Uncle Lu and Silu."
Song Miaomiao rolled over and said languidly, "What’s so fun about the beach? It’s always crowded."
"The beach is tons of fun! We can wade in the water, collect seashells, and sunbathe," Lu Yao retorted, her eyes sparkling as she looked at Jiang Silu. "Besides, doesn’t Silu’s dad have a yacht? We can ask Uncle Lu to take Silu and the rest of us out!"
Jiang Silu was working on a design project. She looked up at the mention of this, hesitating. "I’d have to ask my dad..."
’Truthfully, I’d quite like to go to the beach, too. Even though I got to experience the yacht last time, I felt a bit reserved and couldn’t really let loose and have fun.’
"Just ask, please, please!" Lu Yao leaned halfway off her bed, pressing her palms together in a pleading gesture. "Silu, I’m begging you! That yacht was so amazing last time. I’ve even dreamed about it several times. Even Shiting said she’s never been on such a luxurious yacht."
Although Liu Shiting didn’t say anything, she also looked over, a hint of anticipation in her eyes.
Lu Yao was right. Although she had been on a yacht before, Uncle Lu’s was just so unbelievably luxurious and huge that even a pampered girl from an upper-middle-class family like her couldn’t help but want to experience it again.
Seeing their expressions, Jiang Silu’s heart softened.
She immediately picked up her phone and nodded. "Alright, I’ll ask, but I’m not sure if he’s free."
She sent Lu Fan a message on WhatsApp: [The weather’s supposed to be nice tomorrow, and my dorm mates and I want to go to the beach. I was hoping you could come with us. Do you have time?]
After sending the message, she expected to wait a while for a reply, but one came back in just a few seconds.
Lu Fan: [Of course. I’ll have Chen He pick you all up and head to the marina together.]
A smile immediately spread across Jiang Silu’s face as she read the message.
Lu Yao leaned over to take a look and was so excited she nearly jumped off the bed. "That’s great! That’s great! Lulu, your dad is the best!"
Although Song Miaomiao wasn’t as ecstatic as Lu Yao, most girls love trying new things. The last yacht trip had left a deep impression on her, and of course, she hoped to go again.
Jiang Silu quickly typed back on WhatsApp: [Thank you.]
Lu Fan: [No need to be so formal with your dad.]
Jiang Silu stared at the word "dad" for several seconds, her heart skipping a beat.
She had never actually called him that, always using the formal "you" instead.
Lu Fan never forced her, simply waited.
She sighed and put down her phone.
Lu Yao was still excitedly planning for the next day. "We have to bring swimsuits! And sunscreen! Oh, right, should we bring food?"
Liu Shiting said coolly, "The yacht should have everything."
Lu Yao paused for a moment, then chuckled. "Right, right, how could I forget? Then all we need to bring is ourselves!"
"I’ll bring my camera, then, to take some pictures," Song Miaomiao added with a quiet laugh.
"Yes, yes, take lots of pictures! I want to post them on my feed!" Lu Yao said, clapping her hands.
As the three girls chattered away, Jiang Silu lay on her bed listening, feeling happy inside.
’It would be a lie to say I don’t enjoy this feeling. Who wouldn’t want a rich father?’
Early the next morning, Chen He’s car was waiting downstairs from the dorm right on time.
The four young women, all ready, headed downstairs.
They were all dressed up beautifully.
Jiang Silu, in contrast, wore a simple but refreshing pale yellow dress with her hair tied back in a ponytail.
The moment she got in the car, Lu Yao excitedly asked, "Uncle Chen, is the beach far? How long will it take to get there?"
"Not far, just over an hour," Chen He replied with a smile.
"Yay!"
Afterward, all four of them, as if by unspoken agreement, took out their mirrors and started doing their makeup in the car.
The car soon arrived at a manor first.
Lu Fan was already waiting at the entrance, dressed in a white short-sleeved shirt, beige casual pants, and a pair of sunglasses. He looked energetic and youthful.
Lu Yao was the first to hop out of the car, greeting him with a wide grin. "Hi, Uncle Lu! Sorry to trouble you again today."
"It’s no trouble at all. It’s rare that you all come out to have fun," Lu Fan said cheerfully.
Song Miaomiao and Liu Shiting also got out and greeted him politely.
Lu Fan looked at Jiang Silu and said with a smile, "Let’s go. We’ll take the other van that’s waiting outside and head straight to the marina."
Jiang Silu nodded and followed him.
Soon, the van reached the marina. A white yacht was docked by the shore, glistening in the sunlight.
The deck was already set up with fruit, drinks, several sun umbrellas, and lounge chairs.
Seeing the luxurious yacht once again, the four young women couldn’t hide their excitement.
Lu Fan gestured for them to board. "Go on up. There are lounges inside if you get tired and want to lie down for a bit."
The four girls boarded the yacht and found a place to sit on the deck.
Lu Fan instructed the crew to set off, and the yacht slowly pulled away from the marina, heading out toward the open sea.
A cool, salty sea breeze drifted by.
The sunlight shimmered on the surface of the water.
Lu Yao leaned over the railing and shouted excitedly, "It’s so beautiful! Look at the water, it’s so blue!"
