Chaos Devourer System: My Classless Ascension
Chapter 440 - 438:Coliseum of Heroes
Chapter 440: Chapter 438:Coliseum of Heroes
"Can you even see where you’re going?" Sana’s irritated voice echoed in my head like a grating rattle.
"I don’t need my eyes to see where I’m going. Besides, what’s wrong?"
"Your eyes haven’t budged from those flesh globes since you left that room."
"I’m just appreciating the good things in life. If you were here, I wouldn’t treat you any less."
"I would gouge your eyes out if you dared."
"They’d grow back instantly."
"You fucking..."
"You know he’s only doing this because he knows it irks you, right?" Shaia just had to go and ruin my fun.
"Arrrgggf!!! Why can’t he just be normal?"
"You make it too easy for him by being easily rage-baited, tehee..."
"I’m not easily rage-baited."
"Sure, and I’m not a planet attached to a man’s soul space." Terra couldn’t let herself be kept out of the conversation.
"This bitch! What did I do now? Why are you always gunning for me?"
"How about I try leeching off of you for ages without ever saying thank you like a normal person would? Let’s see your pettiness handle that."
"I’M NOT PETTY!!!"
"Sure. And Husband isn’t a raging maniac with anger issues."
"That’s a low blow, Terra."
"I’m sorry, Husband, but you know I’m right."
I couldn’t even argue, merely shaking my head at the interaction going on in my head.
I wasn’t about to admit it out loud, but it wasn’t that bad having these ladies in my head, even if they could be a handful sometimes.
"Humph! At least you can be appreciative." Sana.
"Tehee... don’t worry, you’ll never have a dull day with me around." Shaia.
"Husband should hurry and eat another planet, I’m hungry." Terra.
....
....
"Alright, Lord Benefactor, here are your chambers."
We finally arrived at our designated residence, and like everything else here, it was blown out of proportion with the level of technological input.
I could only sigh and shake my head as I made my way toward my own room.
"Sleep well, Lord Benefactor." The voice of the princess trailed behind me, but—
"Drop that ’Lord Benefactor’ nonsense. Call me Dante." I corrected her promptly.
"Ahh.. as you wish. I just needed to let you know that my imperial father has granted you access to the imperial library, you can visit there whenever you wish."
"Oh, is that so?"
"Yes."
"Then I thank the Emperor for his good graces."
"I shall let him know."
"Hmm.." Well, that solved one issue. Finally, I can get a clear picture of what the wider universe looked like. I still haven’t forgotten the steel mountains of the Abyss, something that occupied a quarter of the outer fringes, so tomorrow I get a good look at what the scale I was dealing with was like.
Done with my thoughts, I passed through the open door as the thing slid close behind me.
...
...
"Ahh... finally, some peace and quiet." I sighed in satisfaction as I crashed onto the soft surface of the massive bed within the room.
"So, who’s going to sleep with me?"
"Sleep by yourself, you pervert." Obviously Sana was a no-go, but luckily for me,
"Since Husband is alone, then I don’t mind." Terra appeared just in time.
My eyes pried themselves open as I took in her magnificent form. The way the leaves barely hid anything, her seductive curves, and massive breasts that swayed with each breath, she was truly a stunning woman.
"Tehee.. now you’re making me jealous." Shaia’s teasing laugh echoed inside my head.
"Won’t you do the honors? Or am I not invited to this sleepover?"
I smiled as my origin stirred, Denial kicking into effect as Shaia’s absence was rejected, and she appeared right beside my laid-down figure.
"Fufufufu... finally out." She giggled softly before turning toward Terra. "Won’t you join us?"
"Hmm." The green-haired woman merely nodded before moving in to join us.
My arms found purchase around the waists of the two women, a blissful smile appearing on my face as I felt the warmth from their plush bodies on mine.
"Goodnight, ladies."
"Goodnight, my love." Shaia.
"Goodnight, Husband." Terra.
....
The night wore on like a dream, and then came the next day.
I wasn’t even given time to wake up properly before—
CRASHHHHH!!!!!!
My fancy door was smashed to bits by a massive claw.
"ABSOLUTE!!! Wakey wakey!" Paku’s irritating voice jolting me from my blissful slumber.
Slowly, agonizingly, I opened my eyes, and then,
BANG!
A kick connected with the furball’s face before he could even react.
BOOOM!!!
The building we were in shook as he collided with the wall, breaking through it and collapsing on the patio outside.
"That’s for waking me u..."
"DANTEEEEE!!!!!" A massive swinging staff burst through the roof of the entire building as Malachi came swinging.
"Haa... fuck my life." I could only sigh in dismay as I realized I wasn’t getting out of this without beating these guys up.
"Tehee... I guess that’s ’good morning’ then, my love." Shaia laughed, and then—
BOOOOOOOMMMM!!!
The morning began like it naturally should, with a well-deserved beatdown.
...
"Urghh..." Paku.
"Fuck... even now??" Malachi.
"Why... why was I even involved?" Salazar.
"Master.. glorious." Shulvan.
"Sir Dante, did you perhaps go a bit too hard?" Max asked as he looked at the groaning and sprawled-out figures before him.
I looked at the man. He had appeared during the beatdown, apparently appointed as our guide throughout our stay here.
"Don’t worry about them. They’ll survive." I shrugged, stretching my limbs to get my blood pumping properly for the day ahead.
"Ahhh.. alright, you bastards, that was fun and all, but I believe it’s time we finally get to work."
"What... are we doing?" Malachi groaned as he sat up.
"We... are going to the library."
"""EHH?"""
....
The imperial library.
The place, like all I’ve seen since arriving here, was a marvel of engineering and design.
I couldn’t find a single book in place. What I could find were screens displaying various sections belonging to different things one would need to know about anything. The place was massive.
"There’s no way you’re making me read when I’m supposed to be adventuring." Unfortunately, Malachi and the others weren’t having it.
"I’m supposed to be the Apostle of Despair, yet I feel nothing but sorrow as I look at all this work you’re trying to pile onto me." Leo’s voice was somehow even lower than usual.
"Dante, I’m a Chronari, so I’ve spent most of my days reading ancient texts and scrolls. It isn’t now that I’m supposed to be living freely that you’ll trap me here I refuse it." Even Salazar, this knowledge freak, wasn’t having it.
"Umm... I don’t think you guys have anything to worry about. The imperial library doesn’t use standard books. We have everything digitized and ready for easy access." Max tried to motivate the sulking boys.
"What he said. Now stop being dramatic and let’s get to reading." I cheered loudly, ready to begin learning and understanding what was happening, but...
"AHHHHHH!!! Fuck this shit!!!" I roared out in frustration as I crushed the chip within my palm to dust.
I had lasted approximately five minutes in this endeavor of knowledge-seeking. And those five minutes had felt like the longest five minutes of my life.
Where did I lose my passion for knowledge?
"I think it happened after you shot a goblin in the head with an air cannon back in Bright Sun, tehee..."
"Uggghhh..." I groaned as I collapsed onto the desk, joining the others in their sulking.
I had lasted five minutes, and that was longer than any of the others, as even Salazar had tapped out in the first two minutes.
"Heh! What happened, oh knowledge seeker? Not wanting to become wise anymore?"
"Shut it, monkey." I growled. "Yo, Max! Please tell me there’s something fun to do here. I’m done with this shit. I’ll have one of the girls learn it when they’re out. Kaila and Mira should enjoy it. As for me, I’m done."
"I can do it if you want. I already have an idea of the general happenings in the universe and beyond, but it’s been ages since then, so who knows what might’ve changed." To my surprise, Sana volunteered herself for the task.
"You will?"
"It beats having to follow you and that annoying green-haired woman everywhere."
"At least you’re thinking about something other than yourself this time around." Terra really wasn’t letting Sana have anything.
"One of these days, you green-haired bimbo, I’ll tear those unrealistically large globes of flesh from your chest."
"I always knew you were jealous of my superior looks."
"Fucking—"
"So, you’ll do it?" I had to break up their fight before she changed her mind.
"Haa... yes." Saying so, her form materialized in a swirl of light.
The twin-colored-haired beauty made herself visible before the others for the first time.
"Give me a few hours and I should be done." Her sweet yet haughty voice rang out like the tinkling of bells.
"Thank you, Sana dearest. You’re a lifesaver." I was almost kissing her out of joy, were it not for my fear that she’d knee me somewhere dangerous.
"Alright, Max! Please tell me you’ve got something for us." I asked once more, hopeful.
"Well, there should be something you will find exciting. It’s part of the celebratory events going on; the princes just told me about it last night."
"What is it?" Salazar asked.
"A gladiator tournament."
"Gladiators? You guys? Uhh, no thanks. I don’t think I’m interested in seeing people shoot each other with lasers." Malachi waved him away.
"Yeah, me neither. What else you got?" I dismissed the idea as well. With what I’ve seen from these guys, I doubt their ways of fighting would be any exciting.
"Hahaha.. I can understand your skepticism, but I assure you, this isn’t like anything you’re thinking." The man just laughed.
"Hmmm? Alright then, you’ve got my interest piqued." I couldn’t help being curious now. "Where’s the gladiator tournament being held?"
"At the Coliseum of Heroes, of course."
"I have no idea where that is, but lead the way."
"With pleasure. Everyone, we’re heading out.."
"... to the Coliseum of Heroes."
