A strange silence suddenly fell between us as the two blue-skinned ladies just stood transfixed.

My eyes couldn’t help but take a good look at them, precisely at the taller one.

She seemed even more radiant than what I remembered from our very brief encounter in the abyss.

With her hair done up in curly waves and a bright pink dress covering up her magnificent proportions, she looked every bit the description of what a princess should be.

Elegant. Charming. Beautiful.

"Heh! Kaila was right after all. We haven’t even gone what? A day? And this bastard has already found another woman." Sana’s grating voice successfully snapped me out of it.

"Well, they did encounter each other once before, so it’s only normal if he is a bit surprised, though I’m sure that has more to do with the fact that she’s gorgeous than anything else; after all, he’s not even looking at the person he saved, tehee..." Shaia’s teasing made the situation all the more embarrassing.

"You girls make it sound like I planned any of this. It’s nothing but a coincidence."

"Yes. A coincidence that happened because even the universe understands that you’re a man-whore, so it just keeps tossing women your way." Sana wasn’t holding back.

"Terra?"

"I’m sorry husband but even I can’t defend you this time, you’re just being too much now. Have some self control."

I coughed lightly as I tried to not get embarrassed by the words of the three women, the sound snapping the two princesses from their shock.

"Ben... Benefactor?" The young Lysera’s voice was unsure. She seemed to be having trouble recognizing me after my change, something like she knew it was me, but couldn’t come to the conclusion on the spot since I’d gone from being over 7 feet tall to a towering 8 foot 5, my face had been refined to impossible perfection, and my eyes had changed drastically.

I was honestly quite surprised she even recognized me enough to ask.

"Heh! Isn’t that the crybaby princess? What a coincidence this is." I smiled thinly.

"It’s... it’s you? But how? This... huh?" Her brain seemed to have short-circuited.

"You guys know each other?" Max’s curious voice drifted from the side as my staredown with the older sister finally broke off. Seems I wasn’t the only one impressed by what I saw.

"Heh!"

"Narcissistic fuck." Sana.

I ignored her, turning toward Maximoff.

"Maximoff, my love, how did you meet Benefactor?" Lysera’s voice spoke out before I could even answer as the princess linked her arms with those of Max.

I couldn’t help raising a curious brow at the act. Seems the princess was taken, I wonder about the other one.

"Oh, Sir Dante here, like I said, I met during an expedition. The emperor had asked me to invite him home, luckily, he accepted." The man answered. "But how do you guys know him?"

"Well," the princess began as she shifted her attention back toward me and my friends, "Benefactor here saved my life in the abyss. Not just mine, but all of us. If it wasn’t for him, my love, I wouldn’t be here today." She unlinked her arms with Max as she stepped forward, bowing her head once more. "I didn’t get the chance to thank you before, but thank you for saving us from the abyssal storms. Me and my sister are here only by your grace. We are forever indebted to you."

"Didn’t I tell you to always keep your head up if your plan is to be strong and someone others can rely on? Or did you forget so quickly?"

"Hehe... not at all. I’ve been training really hard with Big Sister; I’m not the same crybaby you met in the abyss."

I spared her sister a sideways glance.

"Then I guess I am assured."

"Yo! Man-whore! Who are your new friends? Care to introduce us so I can snitch on your ass once the girls wake up? I’m sure that scary aunt of yours will definitely love to hear what’s up."

Trust Malachi to not give a damn about the situation and input himself.

"Haa..." I could only shake my head in resignation. This was my life now.

"Please, everyone, it seems there’s some catching up to do, so why not do so at the palace? I’m sure the emperor is already aware of your arrival, Dante, he should be waiting for you at the palace."

"Hmm?" Again with this emperor talk.

"Alright then, let’s not delay any longer." I patted the head of the excited little man on my head as I turned to Max. "Lead the way." And then, together with Max and his army, now joined by the entourage of the two princesses, we made our way toward the massive building at the center of the place.

My stride brought me right beside the tall blue-skinned woman.

"You still haven’t told me your name, despite all this gratitude talk." I smiled faintly.

"Ahh!!" She shook. "You... when did you..."

"Don’t worry about it. So?"

"Ahh... forgive my manners. I am Nyssara, Nyssara Varellis, and thank you for saving me and my people." She finally calmed down enough to answer.

"You’re very welcome." I fell silent after that.

What? Shoot my shot? Have you seen me? Things are done the other way round.

BLAAARGGHH!!!

A triumphant fanfare thrummed through the atmosphere as a voice resounded through the crowded streets.

"The imperial fiancé, commander of the Aetheris Legion’s 133rd fleet, Commander Maximoff Daurous has returned successfully!"

OOOOMMMMMMM!!!!!!

The roaring cheers of the crowd shook the place as our group made our way toward the palace.

"How did these guys even fix up something like this? Didn’t we just arrive?" Paku asked, confused.

"Beats me." Leo’s lazy reply was all he could get, as the other two, Malachi and Salazar, were too invested in what was going on to care. As for Shulvan, the man had just become akin to a statue, not a word to be heard from him.

But the person having the time of his life, undoubtedly, had to be...

"WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!"

The little man’s excited squeal resounded through even the loud fanfare as he flew through the skies on a miniature spaceship.

Yes, I had forcefully shrunken the ship and let the little man have his fun.

The fireworks, the trumpets, the music? If that’s what you could even call it, all made for an atmosphere that was relaxing and quite honestly very enjoyable.

"We’re approaching the palace gates." Max came to my side, voice bright. The man was clearly excited to be reunited with his woman.

"Hmm." I nodded, eyes locking onto the massive gates a distance away.

Slowly, the entourage made its way forward until eventually...

"HALT!!!" A command from the gates stopped them cold.

Max dropped down, approached the guards, and after some routine and clearly unnecessary checks, our group was cleared to pass.

The gates didn’t open with a creak, no, these guys were too advanced for such barbarism.

Instead, the entire thing lit up in a kaleidoscope of colors as a portal connecting to the inside was formed on the massive gates.

"Okay, now you guys are just doing too much." I couldn’t help but grumble at the unnecessarily flashy appearance.

"Sorry about that. We tend to take our technological advancements a bit too far and end up creating things that look good but are in essence purely aesthetic." Even Max seemed embarrassed as he gave the entourage the go-ahead.

Waiting for us at the other end was a slew of guards and servants lined up in an orderly fashion, heads bowed.

At their head, standing before an ornate door of gold and some other materials I couldn’t identify, was a merman.

Yes. A merman. He had a man’s torso, but the lower half of a fish with golden scales.

"Seriously, did we somehow get dragged to Atlantis?" The thought couldn’t help but pass through my mind one more time, because it was starting to look very suspicious.

The entourage finally stopped as we all got off.

The moment our feet touched the ground, a majestic voice boomed through the entire place, powerful and regal.

"Welcome, dear friends, to my humble abode."

A/N: I hate Chapters like these cause I have to do some useless describing of shit. Fuck. Just nothing but filler everywhere. I’m glad it’s done. Anyways...
