"Who else are you hiding in your heart? That’s your business, and we outsiders can’t dig out your heart and wash it clean. But if you harbor any inappropriate thoughts because of this, in the end, you’ll only turn yourself into a laughingstock."

Thomas Lancaster finished speaking and had the Aunt in the house see the guest out, "It’s getting late, my wife and I need to rest, we won’t keep you. Take care, not seeing you off."

Emily Lancaster tightly clutched the strap of her purse, her eyes filled with defiance.

"James Black clearly had no extra feelings for Jane Sampson before; I don’t believe it," said Emily Lancaster.

"What? Still thinking of bravely using the guise of love to become a mistress once? Emily Lancaster, believe me, if you show any signs, without Jane Sampson’s parents stepping in, the Black Family could squeeze you to death first," Yvette Quick retorted with a sneer. "You also know what you’re talking about is the past, not now. Can’t you see those things on the internet realm? James Black and Jane Sampson—they’re a match made in heaven. If you had the ability to break them apart, you wouldn’t have been pining for James Black all these years."

Regarding James Black and Jane Sampson’s relationship, even as an outsider, Yvette Quick was particularly confident.

James Black and Jane Sampson were just like each other’s rib, impossible for anyone to take away.

"I’m not going to do anything," Emily Lancaster growled, "I just want to see him now, just want to beg him to spare me this time."

Emily Lancaster lowered her head, biting her lips. She had seen the messages on the internet realm, even watched the variety show that Jane Sampson and Shirley Young participated in together, and Emily Lancaster continued to tell herself it was all an act, all fake.

The Black Family’s favor towards Jane Sampson was overwhelming, James Black married Jane Sampson, so for Jane Sampson’s career, James Black was forced to cooperate with Jane Sampson due to family pressure.

Sometimes Emily Lancaster understood that maybe her thoughts were just deceiving herself, merely stemming from her unwilling resolution.

Deep down, Emily Lancaster actually knew it very well, whether she was unwilling or not, whether Jane Sampson’s and James Black’s feelings were genuinely good or just acted out, her feelings for James Black could never be reciprocated, and would never have any outcomes.

She understood James Black; he was a very responsible person. Once he got married, he would never betray his marriage.

So, when her father mentioned her marrying Amber Edwards’s brother, at first, Emily Lancaster complied with this arrangement.

But later, hearing the name Jane Sampson too many times from Amber Edwards and her siblings’ mouths, Emily Lancaster’s heart started to twist with resentment.

"Then you’re daydreaming and delusional in broad daylight," Yvette Quick raised her eyebrows and made a gesture inviting Emily Lancaster to leave, "Aunt, see the guest out."

Saying that, without waiting for Emily Lancaster to go out, Yvette Quick pulled Thomas Lancaster up the stairs, pinching him several times along the way in anger.

With a slam of the door, Yvette Quick finally released Thomas Lancaster.

"Really your good cousin," Yvette Quick remarked, sitting on a chair with her feet up, looking at Thomas Lancaster, "Almost driven mad by her."

"You pinched, and still can’t get over it?" Thomas Lancaster sighed, "She’s the one who annoyed you, not me, cousin from thousands of miles away, and I still have to take the blame for her? What’s the logic?"

"James Black said no one was allowed to help her, and the moment she seeks out James Black, she wants him to spare her? What’s the meaning? If James Black doesn’t let her go, she continues clinging to James Black? If James Black spares her, does it mean she gets to upset Jane Sampson because of it? That woman’s mind is really deep."
