CEO's Reborn Wife

Chapter 2627 - 2635: Truly Favored

  • Next Chapter

Father Carter stayed in place until twelve o’clock before being persuaded to return to the car to rest.

Until twelve o’clock, the search and rescue team still hadn’t seen a trace of Jillian Carter on the river surface, and the range of search and salvage gradually expanded. Local radio station reporters also began urging the citizens along the river to help keep an eye out and report immediately if discovered.

It had been several hours since Jillian Carter jumped in, and everyone knew in their hearts that it was getting difficult to expect a different outcome.

Jane Sampson waited for news until almost one o’clock before succumbing to the physical fatigue of pregnancy and fell asleep in James Black’s arms.

Meanwhile, after more than two hours of delay, the plane from Country M finally landed safely at Capital Province International Airport.

Julie Sampton just carried a small boarding case and left the airport directly without even waiting for luggage, seeing Bright Sampton in the doorway. It was just that Bright Sampton was looking at his mobile phone, seemingly engrossed in some messages and didn’t notice her approach at all.

"What are you looking at?" Julie Sampton walked up to Bright Sampton and asked.

Bright Sampton was startled, and when he raised his head, he saw it was Julie, "Sister, you’re here?"

Bright Sampton hadn’t noticed the broadcast announcement of Julie’s flight landing, as he was focused on watching a livestream on his mobile phone.

There was a livestream host who was still broadcasting live about the search and rescue situation of Jillian Carter.

Actually, the lens showed almost complete darkness, but one could still hear the host speaking, while tens of thousands of people in the live broadcast channel were waiting for the final outcome.

Bright Sampson was one of them.

"What message has you so engrossed?" Julie Sampton asked again, "So much that you didn’t even notice me walking over."

Julie Sampton chuckled, "You wouldn’t be plotting against me, would you?"

"Sister~" Bright Sampson shook his head, then explained Jillian Carter’s situation to Julie.

After listening, Julie Sampton’s expression changed dramatically. She quickly took out her mobile phone from her pocket, started it, connected to the airport’s WIFI, and immediately went online to search for the Jillian Carter incident.

Looking and searching, Julie Sampton remained silent for a full 20 minutes.

She reviewed all the messages she could find on the internet. When she saw Christopher Chip being stopped by passersby, with that fat face of his being aggressive enough to become deformed, Jillian Carter still felt those were the faces in her memory.

When Christopher Chip was arrested, he was still shouting that Jillian Carter jumped herself, not that he pushed her, what did it have to do with him?

He also told people that Jillian Carter was their Lily Chip, his own sister, and even if he did push Lily Chip, she deserved it! Why should he pay with his life for Lily Chip’s worthless life?

Ignorant, foolish, and utterly inhumane.

Watching Christopher Chip’s face in the video, Julie Sampton slowly closed her eyes, and tears suddenly flowed out.

"In the past, I always felt fate was unfair to me. Clearly, I was a child of the Sampton Family, but had to suffer in the Chip Family for someone I didn’t even know. Now I finally realize, fate really treated me well."

The painful past of childhood, and those memories, are something Julie Sampton can never forget in this life.

"Bright, do you understand now? In the past, when I escaped from the Chip Family, it was like a devil just stepping out of hell. I was stained with all kinds of hostility at the Chip Family; whoever I looked at, they all seemed like villains. I am quite grateful that I finally broke free from that place and freed myself from them."
