Volume 10. Chapter 132: Why She Won’t Do It. (Chapter 1033)
Chapter 132: Why She Won't Do It.
Guanyu: “Celia is my wife, my friend, my everything. While very much part of my Soul, the personalities of those dolls lacked my grounding, rationalities, and many other aspects about me.” She finally answered, though, not the full thing.
Vulely: “I understand that, Guanyu. However… you saying all of this doesn’t give me confidence. In fact… since you hurt Celia, what you just told me is close enough to an admission of you wanting to commit suicide.” I replied with a deep sigh.
Guanyu: “…”
By now, I was of the assumption that the Cultivator… there was only a 10% chance of her dying by her own hands. If we consider that she is verbose, due to her ancient and olden Chinese origins; how she has probably had less than a few hundred conversations with us… maybe the chance is far lower.
In a way, she is similar to how I was, before I joined the family. How did I become so damn… modern? If the me from a few thousand years ago (or, the one before Celia let the reset happen) was here, she’d not even recognize me at all. Guanyu hasn’t been corrupted in that way yet, since she is still very closed off to anyone that isn’t her wife.
Guanyu: “Have I made myself out to be a saint?” She asked with a raised eyebrow.
Vulely: “…No? Instead, you’re more like an absurdly powerful Goddess, whose sense of right and wrong is… a bit unique. Not as Higher Beings that we know of; but how some mortals see them. Like unknowable existences, I mean.” I awkwardly answered.
Guanyu: “…”
Once more, she went quiet. Celia’s sleep is still a thing, so I don’t mind that Guanyu is taking a while to continue the talk. Now doing a thinking pose, Guanyu was obviously trying to figure out how to properly express her feelings, why she won’t end it.
Of course, this is a difficult task. After all, she’s already said that she won’t; but a simple denial like that… isn’t enough. Without something more concrete, backed by emotions, Celia and I would never leave the Cultivator to her lonesome ever again; lest Guanyu kill herself.
Guanyu: “I shall put in the most simplest of words, Vulely. If I had to kill the entire family to save Celia, I would do so; regardless of how much it pain me to do.” She explained, breaking through my base expectations of what she would reply with entirely, somehow saying something even more vague than before.
Vulely: “So… you value us less than her? While hurtful to hear, Guanyu, you still care about us. Can you say the same about anyone else from your original world?” I replied with a laugh.
Guanyu: “…I cannot.” She denied, stumped.
Vulely: “Ah, then you do value us highly; with your wife just sitting at the peak of a surely monstrous mountain.” I add with a bright smile.
Guanyu: “Fine. I will explain it without idioms, or potential tragedies. Vulely, I am a terrible, terrible person; one who has lived purely for her own pleasure and desires, killing or ignoring any who got in the way. I will not end this life of mine, even though I hurt my dearest, since… I’m a selfish woman, who cannot deprave myself of Celia.” She explained with a bit of an angry tone (directed at herself, not me), a real solid answer, yet… I found her words terrifying.
And what’s worse… Guanyu was absolutely going to say more. Celia, do please wake up soon; or this woman will talk my ear off for hours!!!…
