Volume 10. Chapter 119: She Begged Me To Make A Sacrifice… (Chapter 1020)
Chapter 119: She Begged Me To Make A Sacrifice...
Guanyu: “It is already too late to stop this. Or, more specifically… end it in a happy manner.” She said with a solemn tone, after taking a deep breath.
Vulely: “Knowing Celia… it shouldn’t be something impossible. As her wife, you should have forgotten about that word entirely; as it never applies to Celia.” I replied with a scoff.
Celia: “…”
Guanyu: “I feel as though, once more, you’re misunderstanding my words, Vulely.” She expressed with a sigh.
Stab!
She didn’t strike my heart, an organ that Higher Beings don’t really need at all. Instead… the Cultivator pierced my Soul directly. In no way is this a mere wounding attack…
With Guanyu’s sword still inside me, she didn’t make a move to end it. A mere twist… and I’d be dead, likely with no way for anyone to bring me back. Celia was frozen in pure shock, never thinking that one of her wives would do something like this.
Vulely: “Why… kill me?” I struggled out, the pain almost too intense to speak.
Guanyu: “Are you a fool, or intentionally blind to what is happening?” She asked in reply, tilting her head a bit.
Vulely: “…”
Guanyu: “Yes, that’s it… think it through.” She added with a coaxing tone, rubbing my head like a mother would, as if her sword wasn’t stabbed into my body.
Blind… I definitely am not. More of… ignoring the reality of this situation. If we, that is, Celia and I, go ahead and save Guanyu from this absurdity, then… the worst outcome will occur. Is there even any way to salvage this? Time travel might not work…
Guanyu: “Celia isn’t moving to save you… not because she feels no love toward you, Vulely. It is merely due to… my forcing of her hand.” She said with a sad smile.
Vulely: “We can…” She didn’t cut me off, I was just too weak to say any more than that.
Guanyu: “You two together can easily solve this dilemma. Unfortunately, once it is fixed… I shall kill myself. After all, I’ve caused Celia too much pain, hurt her so much that… I cannot be forgiven.” She continued, gently parting the hair that started to cover my eyes.
Celia: “Guanyu… I already forgive you.” She earnestly expressed, unmoving from her spot, as she wasn’t going to risk my life by getting closer.
Guanyu: “I know.” She replied with a dark tone.
Celia: “Then… this doesn’t have to happen, right?” She suggested with a forcefully calm tone and expression.
Guanyu: “Just as long as they do not harm the others of our group or family… you’ll forgive any of us. That is… only if the one inflicted with suffering is you yourself, Celia. I’ve always been a selfish person, you see. And… for this… I must die; or the grief will destroy me.” She denied, jutting her sword further into my Soul, making her intentions known.
Celia: “Please…” She pleaded.
Guanyu: “This personality is… unstable, but not as insane as the other one. Celia, I’ve made the choice for you… Simply kill me to save Vulely. I’ll give you a minute to prepare yourself; take any longer than that and… then you’ll lose both of us.” She demanded with a tone of absolute authority.
