Volume 10. Chapter 118: I Forgot That My Wife Is Crazy. (Chapter 1019)
Chapter 118: I Forgot That My Wife Is Crazy.
Dodging again… wasn’t really difficult at all. I may have greatly exaggerated my dodge from earlier; as Guanyu was clearly not being serious in either of those strikes. Rather, Guanyu could have swung far faster than she did; which means that… the split personality Cultivator is treating this like a game!
Vulely: “Why didn’t you even bother to dodge, Celia?” I asked with an upset tone.
Celia: “Guanyu’s attacks are meant as just play; wounding only. Besides… she attacked you specifically, not me.” She replied with an awkward tone and expression.
Guanyu: “Honestly, I wasn’t sure of Vulely’s fighting abilities until now. Though, it does seem that she is pretty confident.” She added with a light laugh, proudly taking a stand next to Celia.
Vulely: “You two… are acting as if this situation is a mere game!…” I exclaimed in grand frustration.
My wife was… stuck in a hard place between us. For one, she couldn’t bring herself to… ever hate our attacker, her trapper, regardless of what said woman did. Can’t condemn, but not wanting this kind of outcome… I do understand why Celia is so conflicted. However… this isn’t sustainable.
Guanyu: “A game? No, not me. Each and everything I do… is a display of love. Vulely, can you not feel that from me as well? I see you as a bit of a daughter, you know. Although, to Celia… this is a game.” She said with a wistful tone, not looking really mentally well.
Celia: “…”
Vulely: “Huh? What are you talking about, accusing Celia of… such a sin?!” I yelled in pure anger, though, I took no further action than that.
Guanyu: “Celia’s power… is far above mine. Sure, I’ve restricted it; but she is a one of one being. She should have a means to escape, or even save me. Yet… Celia has carried on with this torture for years.” She explained with a sad tone.
Vulely: “…”
Guanyu: “Do you happen to know why this is, Vulely?” She asked with a raised eyebrow.
Vulely: “N-no…” I stutter out, already quite shaken.
Guanyu: “Love. That is her sole reason, a reason to which Celia has lived her life for thus far.” She answered with a dreadful, forced smile.
Celia… stayed silent, no matter how many pleading or accusatory looks that I shot her way. My dearest is… always above drama, so this whole thing is extremely perplexing to me.
The love argument… doesn’t truly make any sense. If it is for love, then why let this go on and on, seemingly with the intention of doing so forever? Love should be exemplified by Celia saving Guanyu, not enduring the torture and isolation for eternity.
Celia: “Vulely, I…” Her words stopped there, as her wife (not me) raised a hand.
Guanyu: “She doesn’t comprehend my meaning, so I shall clarify it. Would you like that, Vulely?” She suggested with a light tone.
Vulely: “…Yes, please do.” I agreed with a nod.
In truth, this narration was done many years after it occurred. I made two mistakes back then… The first one was entering Guanyu’s Soul Realm in the first place; while the second screwup… was agreeing with the Cultivatior’s innocent suggestion.
