Scar read through the rest of prompt before closing the screen. He turned and retrieved the conch shell, examining it briefly before walking back to Xavier, who was still recovering.

"Seems they were after this," Scar said, tossing the shell to him.

Xavier caught it with ease, his inspecting the shell with a deep curiosity. "It looks ordinary to me," he hummed. "Why would Dark Dawn be after an ordinary shell?"

"Who cares," Scar scoffed. "It’s not our problem."

Then he glanced around the museum, finally registering the other people around. The other p co eople that had witnessed the entire massacre.

They were all staring at him, fear written across their faces.

A woman stood frozen with one hand covering her mouth. A little boy held tightly onto his father’s leg, peeking at Scar from behind him. One of the museum attendants trembled as he crouched beside an overturned display stand. Even the museum guards who had regained consciousness looked uncertain.

Scar glanced down at his bloody hands. Then back at them.

He understood why they were afraid.

He had just killed people in front of them.

Not beasts.

Humans.

And judging by their expressions, they had seen enough to understand exactly what he was capable of.

Scar slowly turned to Xavier. "Um... we should probably get going."

Xavier placed the shell aside. Then he looked toward the civilians and raised his hand. "Everyone stay calm," he said, his voice booming through the gallery. "The threat is gone. You’re all safe now." He motioned to Scar. "And it’s all thanks to the son of your great leader, Felicity Myers."

The tension in the room shifted instantly.

A middle-aged man near the front lowered his hands, squinting at Scar. "Wait... that’s the young master? Henry Myers?"

Another woman gasped, her fear melting into recognition. "Oh my goodness, it is him! I didn’t recognize him at first—he looks so different from the broadcasts."

The child sniffled, wiping his tears. "He saved us, Daddy?"

The father nodded, pulling his son close. "Yes, buddy. He saved us."

The museum employee who had been trembling let out a shaky breath. Even the guards, who had been wary of Scar earlier were now relaxed at the mention of Felicity’s name. One of them, a stocky man with a bruised forehead, looked at Scar with wide eyes. "Young Master Myers, thank you for saving us. We are truly grateful."

Scar was stunned at the sudden shift in their behavior. Just a minute ago they had been terrified of him, staring at him like he was a monster. But the moment Felicity’s name was mentioned, the fear evaporated, replaced by relief and gratitude.

One of the civilians—an older man with grey hair—squinted at Xavier. "Wait a second. Aren’t you Xavier Marshal? The legendary mage who took down a horde of mutants by himself?"

Xavier offered a small nod.

The man’s eyes widened. "Wow! Thank you for saving us! Both of you! We owe you our lives!"

Then, a chorus of thanks erupted from the crowd. "Thank you, Marshal!" "Thank you, young master!" "You saved our lives!"

Scar scoffed, crossing his arms. "Why are they thanking you?" he muttered to Xavier. "I’m the one who took down the terrorists."

Xavier chuckled, a hint of amusement in his voice. "I landed a few hits too."

"No, you didn’t," Scar said flatly. "You were on the ground the whole time."

Xavier laughed, shaking his head. "Alright, kid. Whatever you say."

Just then, the distant wail of sirens pierced the evening air. Red and blue lights flickered through the museum’s grand windows. Several footsteps approached from the entrance.

"It’s TRIAD!" One of the guards said aloud, his expression brightening. "TRIAD is here!"

Xavier’s smile faded instantly. His expression hardened, a flicker of tension crossing his face.

Scar noticed and frowned. "What’s wrong?"

Xavier looked at him, his voice dropping low. "Wait here. I’ll handle them."

Before Scar could respond, Xavier was already walking toward the entrance, his heavy boots echoing against the marble floor.

Scar watched him go, his brow furrowed. He had never seen Xavier move with such deliberate purpose before. It was as if the man was stepping into a role he had played a thousand times—a role he knew all too well.

Xavier reached the entrance of the museum just as the first squad of TRIAD agents entered. They were dressed in their standard combat uniforms, weapons secured at their sides as they immediately began scanning the area. The lead agent, a sharp-eyed woman with short-cropped hair, spotted him instantly. Her posture shifted from professional alertness to something approaching reverence.

"Sir!" She snapped to attention, her hand flying to her chest in a crisp salute. "It’s good to see you again, Sir!"

The other agents behind her immediately mirrored the gesture. A chorus of "Sir!" echoed through the street.

Xavier chuckled. "You know, you all don’t need to do that anymore," he said. "I’m no longer an agent. Haven’t been for almost a decade now."

The lead agent shook her head firmly. "With all due respect, sir, you’ll always be a superior agent to us. Your record speaks for itself."

Xavier sighed, a hint of exasperation in his voice. "So, what brings you here?" He questioned.

The lead agent motioned to the museum hall. "We received reports that the museum was under attack by the Order of the Dark Dawn. We came as fast as we could." Her eyes drifted past Xavier toward the devastation behind him. Several bodies lay scattered throughout the gallery. "What happened?" She asked.

"Yes, the terrorists attacked, but I handled it," Xavier said flatly.

The lead agent blinked in mild surprise. "You—you killed them all?"

"Yes," Xavier said. Then, he went on to explain how the ODD agents used some sort of mana cell nullification beam to weaken all of them. But that he was able to retain some of his strength. He explained to the agents that he was the one who took down all the terrorists one by one. He left out any part that had to do with Scar, making sure to manipulate the story to his liking.

"It seemed they came here for a certain artifact... a conch shell," he said. "But they failed. Thanks to me. And all the civilians are safe. There were no casualties."

The lead agent stared at him for a long moment, taking in the whole story. Then she nodded, her expression filled with awe. "As expected of you, sir. We’re grateful you handled the situation before we arrived. Thank you."

The agents behind her murmured among themselves. "He’s so cool," one whispered.

"I can’t believe we’re standing this close to Xavier Marshal." Another nodded eagerly. "The legend himself."

Scar, who had slipped to the entrance to watch the exchange, was genuinely shocked. Xavier had just told them all a lie, and they bought it easily. They were acting more like starstruck fans than professional law enforcement officers. Xavier’s reputation was so solid that the agents believed whatever he told them without question.

Even the guards stationed at the museum entrance looked surprised that Xavier had taken full credit. But they kept their mouths shut, exchanging only wary glances.

Xavier waved off the praise. "It was nothing. But next time, you should arrive sooner. The situation could’ve been a lot worse."

The lead agent bowed her head. "You’re right, sir. We’ll do better next time," she said.

Xavier nodded, then gestured toward the people in museum. "Go check on the civilians. And don’t bother questioning them, they’ve been through a lot today. I already told you the whole story, and I’ll make sure to send in a full report later. You just make sure everyone gets home safe."

The lead agent nodded and agreed immediately. "Understood, sir."

She turned to her team, barking orders. The agents began filing into the hall, their attention shifting to the civilians and the aftermath of the attack.

Scar walked up to Xavier, his hands in his pockets. "Can we leave now?"

Xavier nodded. "Of course."

But before they could move, the lead agent turned back, her eyes landing on Scar. She froze, her brow furrowing. "Wait a second... isn’t this the young master Myers?"

Scar met her gaze, his expression neutral.

The agent’s face paled. "We had no idea he was here! If the Ice Queen finds out her son was involved in a terrorist attacked and we weren’t there—"

"It’s fine," Xavier cut her off. "The young master was with me. Felicity won’t hold it against you. You have my word."

"Okay," The agent let out a visible sigh of relief, her shoulders sagging. "Thank you, sir. We appreciate that."

Xavier nodded. "Now, get these people out and to their homes quickly."

"Yes, sir. Of course, sir." The agent turned and hurried toward the nearest civilian, her team following close behind.

Xavier turned to Scar. "Let’s go."

Scar let out a breath. "Finally."
