Dragon Spirit was not as boring as the Young Prince imagined, constantly fixating on others’ shortcomings and mistakes as something worth dwelling on.

After rolling his eyes a few times to express his stance, he started discussing serious matters.

"Strictly speaking, those refugees are different from those who suffered floods or droughts. They had their homes destroyed and were forced to flee elsewhere..."

Only then did everyone realize that, in the eyes of the refugees, those disasters deemed as Heavenly Punishment were actually man-made.

The cities they were in witnessed unexplained deaths daily for unknown reasons, and most bizarrely, there were no wounds on the bodies.

This situation, with almost no information available, was understandably considered Heavenly Punishment.

In the city, even those with some prestige panicked in the face of such large-scale deaths that respected no boundaries.

No doctor could determine the cause of these events, and even the Xuan Sect disciples stationed in each city couldn’t escape such fates.

People’s hearts were thrown into chaos, and the same situation occurred in several neighboring cities.

No one can remain calm in the face of death.

Those wealthy families immediately prepared their families to flee. They had carriages, food supplies, and manpower, allowing for a smoother escape.

In fact, before the common townsfolk realized it, their assets were almost completely liquidated.

The panic brought by fleeing was contagious. When one learned that those wealthy families had fled the place where generations had lived,

the common people, with little to their name, naturally couldn’t sit still.

However, they lacked excess resources, strong household bodyguards, and had to bring the entire family, young and old, slowing them down.

Travel in ancient times was completely different from modern times.

For a family to travel smoothly without incident was almost impossible, without even considering natural dangers.

There’s also the inevitable threat of human malice; who knew if someone would see them as mobile granaries during this journey.

And so, the number of refugees grew and grew, though, for the moment, their safety was not an issue.

However, the more people there were, the greater the risk.

No one dared to indulge in luxury right now. Most were just ensuring they wouldn’t starve, leading to a dire mental state.

In just a few days, the number of refugees swelled to tens of thousands.

As they learned the refugees’ origin, everyone couldn’t help but frown.

"What kind of methods can terrify the citizens of several cities to such an extent?"

None present were naive enough to believe that the method of dying without external wounds was an accident.

The Young Prince turned to his confidant beside him, "Take a squad to those cities and investigate. They’re on our way anyhow!"

If something uncontrollable arose ahead, they would have to change their route.

Scenes of tens of thousands of refugees migrating simultaneously were truly astonishing by ancient standards; no one dared take it lightly.

Yet, to Dragon Spirit, accustomed to seeing crowds everywhere during festivals, it remained manageable.

The Azure Dragon’s group quickly devised a plan; crude though it was, Dragon Spirit did not intervene much.

He lifted the curtain of Yun Ran’s carriage and boarded directly.

Sporting an inquisitive expression: "Do you think someone is deliberately targeting them this time?"

From his words, it was evident that Dragon Spirit distinguished himself and Yun Ran from the Azure Dragon and his companions.

Yun Ran retrieved her divination tools once more. Though it had shown empty hexagrams before, her suspicions remained undeterred.

"Let me perform a reading first!"

"Clatter" "Clatter" "Clatter"...

After several metallic sounds resonated from within the Turtle Shell,

a few Copper Coins landed on the table. This time, it wasn’t an empty hexagram.

However, upon seeing the divination, Yun Ran’s face immediately revealed an expression of disbelief – it was worse than an empty hexagram.

At least when an empty hexagram appeared, Yun Ran could deduce the matter was unforeseeable.

But now, the divination indicated that it was all accidental, not deliberately targeting them.

They could only blame their poor luck for being caught up in it.

Dragon Spirit leaned over and, upon seeing the divination on the table, fell into rare silence.

The last time he saw a divination and fell silent was when Yun Ran came up with an empty hexagram.

If he hadn’t known of Yun Ran’s skill in fortune-telling, he might have asked if she truly knew how to divine.

"Do you believe what’s happening can be described as coincidence right now?"

Dragon Spirit’s intrusive remark naturally didn’t earn him Yun Ran’s good graces. She was well aware of the underlying manipulations, but the divination spoke for itself!

Yun Ran wordlessly gathered the Copper Coins from the table.

"Do you need to emphasize this? Trying to show how capable you are?"

Dragon Spirit felt a bit bashful; he was only expressing his opinion, with no intent of mocking Yun Ran.

With everything packed away, Yun Ran lifted the window curtain, glancing at the Azure Dragon in the distance.

"Could you come over to talk?"

The Azure Dragon paused; it was the first time since their journey began that Yun Ran had taken the initiative to speak with him.

After a mere moment of thought, the Azure Dragon nodded, instructed the Bald Monk a few words, and strode toward Yun Ran’s carriage.

The space inside the carriage was quite large. Even with three people, it didn’t feel crowded.

"What do you wish to discuss?"

"I wanted to ask, about this mission concerning the Fallen God Seed, what exactly is going on?"

The Azure Dragon hesitated, clearly not expecting Yun Ran to ask such a question.

He instinctively replied, "Is there a problem?"

Yun Ran placed the fortune-telling tools she had collected in front of the Azure Dragon: "Give it a try first."

This heightened the suspicion in the Azure Dragon’s eyes, but his hands didn’t stop as he earnestly shook the Turtle Shell a few times.

Though the divination differed slightly from Yun Ran’s previous attempt, the essential message was the same.

Yun Ran posed a question similar to Dragon Spirit’s: "Do you really think everything happening is mere coincidence?"

Hearing Yun Ran seriously ask the same question he had previously, Dragon Spirit almost couldn’t hold back his laughter.
