Chapter 1272: Chapter 1272: How Did You Get In?
Chu Ci frowned slightly, walked to the edge of the bathtub, but she still showed no sign of waking up. He squatted down, staring at her face. Since she had just washed her hair, it was wet, and she looked like a water nymph just pulled out of the water, very alluring, different from usual.
Chu Ci watched for a long time, reached out for a towel, wrapped her in it, held her, and walked towards the master bedroom. Naturally, she woke up with such a commotion. After opening her eyes, she seemed a bit surprised, but then she reached out to hug Chu Ci’s neck, her voice low: "Chu Ci."
He responded with a simple "Mm," with a sort of nonchalant tone in the dead of night. Zhao Mo Ran pursed her lips and didn’t speak further. They hadn’t spent much time together lately, and she didn’t know why he had come back to the bedroom.
She thought, is he planning to sleep in the master bedroom tonight?
Thinking this, she naturally said, "Chu Ci, I’ll sleep in the nursery. There’s a sofa there I can use."
Chu Ci looked down at her indifferently, saying nothing. Then he carried her into the bedroom, let her sit down, dried her hair, and helped her change into pajamas. She was nervous; as soon as her feet touched the ground, he pressed down on her shoulders, his voice hoarse beyond reason: "Afraid of me? We’ve been married for so long, do you think I’d sleep in the guest room forever, or did you think I married you just as a decoration?"
Zhao Mo Ran turned her face away slightly embarrassed, just happening to see his distinctly jointed hand—
Chu Ci was a very handsome man, but he had a strong grip, and right now, gripping her shoulders, she felt a real pain.
Zhao Mo Ran spoke softly, "I didn’t mean it that way."
"It’s best if you didn’t," Chu Ci loosened his tie and headed toward the bathroom: "I’ll go shower first, don’t fall asleep."
As his voice fell, the bathroom door closed, leaving Zhao Mo Ran standing there, her whole body cold.
In this marriage, she was nothing, just Chu Ci’s wife. If he wanted her to have children, she had to have children. If he wanted to sleep together, she had no right to refuse, even though at this moment she loathed him.
But no matter how much she loathed him, she still reached out to adjust her pajamas and lay down quietly.
A moment later, she felt a chill on the corners of her eyes. When she reached out to touch, she realized her eyes were filled with tears. She didn’t know why she was crying; after all, she wasn’t a little girl anymore, and she had chosen this path herself... so what was there to cry about, it only seemed pretentious.
She tried hard to suppress it, holding back the nausea she felt. Just then Chu Ci came in, looked at her, then sat on the edge of the bed, touched her cheek with his hand, and silently smiled: "Cried? Am I that hard to bear?"
"No." She turned her face away, not wanting to deal with his meanness.
Chu Ci seemed quite interested, not minding her indifference, reached out and touched her cheek again, after a while, laughed lightly, "Angry?"
Speaking of which, he hadn’t been with her for a long time. He wasn’t like a young man anymore, but things like this were inevitable between a husband and wife. He didn’t plan on living like a monk, so no matter how reluctant she was, he would still follow his own wishes...
Late at night, she leaned against the pillow.
Chu Ci took a puff of a cigarette, looked down at her, then exhaled a smoke ring: "What’s wrong, did I upset you just now again?"
"No," she said softly.
But as soon as she finished speaking, he pinched her chin, smirking: "Just now you didn’t behave like that, so why are you showing a cold face now?"
