Chapter 104: Chapter 83: Flame Mage Manual, Hero’s Advancement

"Get it for me?"

Shen Xing was puzzled, then quickly realized. "No need. If I wanted it that badly, I would have just made the trade myself. It’s just that this guy is trying to gouge me, and I don’t want to get ripped off."

"Don’t worry. When have you ever seen me get ripped off?" Qin Lang said with a confident smile. "Just wait for my good news."

With that, he walked up alone and whispered a few words to the player.

The player’s eyes lit up at his words, and he went aside with Qin Lang to discuss the details.

Shen Xing didn’t know what they said. The second-floor trading area seemed to have some sort of special device that could suppress the Power of Lords like them, making their hearing no different from a normal person’s.

However, judging by the player’s beaming expression, the conversation must have gone very well.

A moment later, Qin Lang took out his phone to scan a code, apparently adding the other person as a friend.

Then he turned and walked back, a dark red manual in his hand.

"You actually got it!?" Xu Jiayi said, a little surprised. "What did you say to that player?"

"A secret," Qin Lang said with a mysterious smile.

Shen Xing, however, gave him a suspicious look. "You didn’t actually agree to give him nine million, did you?"

Xu Jiayi added, "Or maybe he sold his body. I saw them add each other as friends."

"Get lost, you two. No matter how broke I get, I wouldn’t sell myself, would I?" Qin Lang cursed, then added, "Don’t worry. I’ve had some lucky encounters in the game recently, too. In any case, I definitely didn’t get the short end of the stick on this deal."

Shen Xing didn’t say any more. He knew Qin Lang was trying to pay him back for the Knight’s Certificate he had given him.

As friends for many years, Qin Lang would accept his help without saying thank you or making a big deal out of it.

But he would keep it in mind and pay him back when he got the chance.

"Let’s bounce."

Qin Lang shoved the dark red manual into Shen Xing’s arms, then pushed the wheelchair into the elevator.

The three of them left the Player Association.

The car drove along the bustling streets under a gloomy sky.

A light drizzle was still falling, and the air throughout Jiang City seemed to have grown much damper.

In the car, Shen Xing suddenly spoke up. "By the way, Qin Lang, are you free anytime soon?"

"Yeah, I’m free. What’s up?" Qin Lang replied casually, his hands on the steering wheel.

"Then help me keep an eye out for a house in Jiang City."

The other two people in the car froze for a moment.

"Keep an eye out for a house... Are you moving?" Qin Lang asked curiously.

"Yes."

Shen Xing nodded. ’I have to admit, I’m a shallow person, wanting to spend money on this and that as soon as I earn it.’

’Now I’m actually thinking of saying goodbye to the rental apartment I’ve been cooped up in for years and moving into a big house.’

’But isn’t the point of making money to live a better life? Otherwise, what’s the point of earning it at all?’

’The Land of Mist needs a major investment of resources to develop, but my living conditions in the real world can’t be too shabby either.’

"Hmm, your place is pretty remote, and it’s in a high-rise, which is really inconvenient."

Qin Lang seemed lost in thought, then asked, "What’s your price range, and what are your requirements for the house?"

Shen Xing thought for a moment and replied, "Within one or two million. I want it to be spacious and have good privacy."

"I also want to manifest my Soldier Types at home to practice my real-world control abilities."

At his words, the other two’s eyes also lit up.

"That’s right, we really do need to practice controlling our Soldier Types in the real world!" Qin Lang slapped the steering wheel and said decisively, "Looks like you absolutely have to buy a house now!"

After all, the combat power of those Soldier Types from the game was far greater than that of the Lords.

Those Extraordinary Level Soldier Types could demolish a building in a single blow.

If Shen Xing summoned one in his rental apartment and lost control, he’d probably be on the news the next day.

That was why, aside from those two times in the Foggy Void Realm and at the Player Association, they hadn’t summoned their Soldier Types into reality again, so their control skills hadn’t improved at all.

"Leave it to me. I’ll definitely find you a great house you’ll be happy with."

Qin Lang nodded happily. "This way, once Shen Xing buys a house, we’ll have a base of operations."

Sitting in the back, Xu Jiayi rolled her eyes. "It’s his home, not some base of operations."

"What’s with ’his home,’ ’my home’? We’re buddies, we don’t need to be so formal," Qin Lang laughed.

Amid their conversation, the three of them each returned to their own homes.

...

CLANG.

The door to the rental apartment closed, shutting out the noise from outside.

Shen Xing leaned back in his wheelchair, organizing his thoughts.

’I gained quite a lot from this trip.’

’Including the Advancement Materials Qin Lang gave me, I have a total of six items to transfer into the game.’

’Based on my previous limit of transferring two items per day, it would take three days to get them all in.’

’But... after eating the Silver Holy Fruit, my Spirit Attribute increased dramatically. I should be able to transfer more things now, right?’

Shen Xing thought for a moment and decided to test it out immediately.

He took out his black handbag and retrieved three items to prepare for the first transfer: the Mage Manual, the Windmill Mill Blueprint, and the Mysterious Building - Food Processing Plant.

The other items—the Nest Reinforcement Stone, the Power Gemstone, and the Flame Gemstone—would wait for the second transfer tomorrow.

This was because his Beastman Species Nest was still an ordinary Two-Star. It would take some time to upgrade it to Three-Star, and then to Elite.

And those Gemstones could only be socketed into Elite Level nests or higher, so they weren’t of any use right now.

Thinking of this, he extended his arm, revealing the Fog Flower that flickered between illusion and reality.

A familiar gray fog surged out, enveloping the three items in front of him.

A pulling sensation emanated from deep within his mind, a sign that his Spiritual Power was being rapidly consumed.

A moment later, as the gray fog dissipated, the items before him had vanished.

’It worked!’

Shen Xing was overjoyed. It was just as he had guessed—he could now transfer three items per day.
