On the vast martial arena, Mo Yu stood tall, his expression calm and composed, exuding an unfathomable aura.
Behind him stood the mysterious woman in a white dress. The scene resembled a classic tale of a hero rescuing a damsel in distress.
Seeing this, the Boss of the Three Blood Blade Fiends was momentarily stunned before his face darkened. He growled, "Who are you? How dare you meddle in the affairs of the Three Blood Blade Fiends? Do you not understand the rules of first come, first served?!"
To Boss Blood Blade, this silver-eyed man wasn’t acting as a hero, but rather as an opportunist stealing his prize.
He had gone through great effort to subdue the woman in white, and just when he was about to claim his reward, this silver-eyed man appeared out of nowhere to snatch the fruit of his labor. As the leader of the Three Blood Blade Fiends, he had never suffered such humiliation.
"I already said, you cannot touch this woman. If you know what’s good for you, leave quietly. Otherwise, your reputation as Boss Blood Blade will end here," Mo Yu said with a shake of his head, his tone indifferent.
"Ridiculous! You think you can scare me? You’re far from it!" Boss Blood Blade clearly had no idea of Mo Yu’s strength. Seeing the other party acting so arrogantly, a cold killing intent flickered in his eyes.
"Divine Art—Ten Thousand Fiend Blood Python Slash!"
Boss Blood Blade’s killing intent condensed into substance. His bloodstained blade flashed once more, erupting with a terrifying, baleful aura that blanketed the sky. His gaze turned sinister as he swung his weapon.
Boom!
The blood-colored blade emitted a thunderous clang, and as the crimson light burst forth, it merged into a thousand-foot-long blood-red python.
The python raised its head and let out a piercing hiss, its overwhelming malevolence seemingly capable of devouring the heavens.
The sheer power of this slash sent chills down the spines of countless experts. They knew that if this attack were aimed at them, even a Greater Earthly Supreme would have to treat it with extreme caution.
This divine art embodied Boss Blood Blade’s full strength.
The enormous blood-red python streaked across the sky, but Mo Yu remained calm. Glancing at the woman behind him, he asked softly, "Do you trust me?"
The woman in white was momentarily taken aback, clearly not expecting Mo Yu to have the leisure to converse at such a critical moment. However, upon seeing the serenity in his expression, she hesitated briefly before nodding.
"You stepped in to help me, and I am not one to be ungrateful. Regardless of the outcome, I will trust you," she said sincerely.
Hearing this, Mo Yu smiled faintly. Then, turning his gaze to the incoming python slash, he raised his right hand, where surging lightning began to coalesce.
The next moment, as Mo Yu’s mind moved, dazzling lightning erupted from his palm. The countless experts watching from a distance then witnessed a fearsome sight—Mo Yu flicked his wrist, and the heavens rumbled with thunder.
"Roar!"
Amidst the flashing lightning, a deep dragon’s roar echoed. A massive lightning dragon emerged from the raging storm of electricity.
The dragon’s body crackled with arcs of lightning, as though it had truly come to life. With a sky-shaking roar, it charged fiercely toward the blood python.
In the next instant, the lightning dragon and blood python collided.
Boom!
For a brief moment, the entire world seemed to freeze. Then, a terrifying shockwave of spiritual energy swept outward.
The space within a ten-thousand-foot radius distorted, and the ground below split apart, forming deep, jagged chasms.
The skies beyond the martial arena were filled with retreating figures—countless experts backing away, afraid of being caught in the aftermath.
Boss Blood Blade’s face darkened. He had never imagined that this silver-eyed intruder was so powerful. That seemingly casual lightning dragon was actually stronger than his full-power divine art.
This man’s strength was truly unfathomable!
"Crack!"
As Boss Blood Blade’s expression turned grim, the massive blood python in the sky started to crack apart.
The fractures spread rapidly across its body before it finally exploded in a burst of blood-red energy.
"Puah!"
As the Blood Python Slash shattered, Boss Blood Blade’s expression twisted in shock. A mouthful of blood spurted from his lips as his spiritual energy rapidly weakened. The force of the shockwave sent him flying backward in disarray.
If not for his blade absorbing the brunt of the impact, he might have lost his life on the spot. Even so, the internal damage left him gasping, his vitality severely drained.
Boom!
His body crashed heavily onto the ground, carving a thousand-foot-long trench as he skidded across the terrain. Stone lion statues in his path shattered instantly from the impact.
"Puah!"
He coughed up more blood, his body drenched in crimson. His appearance had turned utterly wretched.
Seeing this scene, all eyes turned to Mo Yu with a newfound wariness. Boss Blood Blade was among the strongest of Greater Earthly Supremes, yet he had been defeated in a single move. This man’s strength was simply terrifying.
Even the woman in white, looking at Mo Yu, had a glimmer of surprise in her gaze. Among cultivators of the same rank, his combat prowess was undoubtedly among the best—even within her own clan, few could match him.
At this thought, she nodded slightly to herself. Her decision to travel the world had been the right one.
Experts truly walked among the people. This saying was not a lie.
While the crowd was still reeling, Mo Yu turned his gaze downward toward Boss Blood Blade. The latter, now trembling, looked up at him with fear.
"Tell me—who sent you to steal the Silver Tower? Who is the mastermind behind this?" Mo Yu questioned coldly.
The Three Blood Blade Fiends were notorious assassins in the northwestern regions of the Great Thousand World. There was no way they would act alone in robbing the Silver Tower. Someone had undoubtedly hired them.
Since he had already intervened, he might as well root out the true culprit.
Hearing this, the woman in white was also taken aback. Then, her gaze sharpened as she locked onto Boss Blood Blade. The Silver Tower had been rightfully acquired through auction. If someone had orchestrated this behind the scenes, even with her gentle temperament, she would not let them go.
Boss Blood Blade’s face turned even uglier. Looking at Mo Yu and the woman in white, he showed a bitter expression.
Neither of them were people he could afford to offend—but neither was the one who had hired him.
"Speak, or die!" Mo Yu commanded sharply.
A cold killing intent flashed in his silver eyes. Against a villain like this, only the threat of death would have any effect.
Feeling Mo Yu’s chilling intent, Boss Blood Blade shuddered. His eyes flickered with hesitation before he suddenly clenched his teeth. With a slap of his palm, his figure transformed into a streak of light, attempting to flee.
Mo Yu’s eyes turned icy as a massive lightning hand tore through the void, reaching straight for the escaping Boss Blood Blade.
Boom!
A gigantic palm descended, enveloping everything below. In that instant, a blood-red radiance burst forth from Boss Blood Blade’s body. This crimson light seemed to contain all of his power—pure and formidable.
The moment the blood-red radiance intercepted, the thunderous giant hand faltered slightly.
Splat!
Seizing this moment, Boss Blood Blade spat out a mouthful of blood. The blood wriggled and instantly wrapped around his body, transforming into a streak of blood light that pierced through space at an indescribable speed.
"Hmph!"
Mo Yu’s eyes flickered, and in the next instant, silver lightning flashed in his pupils. A silver beam of light shot out like a bolt of lightning, striking the blood light attempting to escape through space. A violent explosion followed—Boss Blood Blade’s arm was blasted into a mist of flesh and blood.
"Aargh!"
A shrill scream echoed through the sky. The space distorted as the blood light wrapped around Boss Blood Blade, allowing him to flee in a wretched state.
"Damn it! I, Blood Blade, will tear you to pieces!"
Though the blood light had vanished, Boss Blood Blade’s furious, agonized roar reverberated throughout the heavens and earth.
Hearing this, Mo Yu merely smiled faintly. A stray dog—no threat at all.
Since Boss Blood Blade had escaped, the remaining two couldn’t be allowed to flee as well. With that thought, Mo Yu turned his gaze toward the other two members of the Three Blood Blade Fiends.
When the remaining two saw Mo Yu’s gaze lock onto them, terror surfaced on their faces.
Even their boss, a Greater Earthly Supreme, had been no match for Mo Yu, barely escaping with his life after sacrificing an arm. As mere Lesser Earthly Supremes, how could they possibly escape the grasp of this overwhelming force?
Just as the two hesitated, debating whether to betray their employer in exchange for their lives, a violent sound of something slicing through the air suddenly rang in their ears.
Whoosh!
The whistling wind stopped abruptly. The next moment, searing pain exploded in their chests. Stunned, they looked down—only to see a terrifying thunder spear, crackling with devastating lightning energy, impaling them through their torsos. The spear greedily devoured their vitality.
Their mouths opened, spurting blood. Their complexions turned deathly pale as they stared at the approaching figures.
The moment they saw the person leading the group, their expressions froze in utter disbelief.
They never expected this person to be the one who had killed them.
But disbelief didn’t change the truth. The thunder spear continued draining their life force, and in mere moments, they collapsed lifelessly.
Even in death, their eyes remained wide open, filled with unwillingness.
"Hmph! You dared to rob this young lady’s Silver Tower? Do you not understand that the auction was guaranteed by the top factions of Heavenly Thunder Continent? The Three Blood Blade Fiends’ actions were an outright provocation against the dignity of my Thunder God Palace and other major powers. Their deaths were well deserved!"
As this voice rang out, an imposing man descended onto the battlefield. His expression was filled with righteous anger, and upon closer inspection, it was none other than the Vice Palace Master of Thunder God Palace—Thunder King.
At this moment, his face was a mask of fury, yet deep within his eyes lurked a cold and calculating darkness.
The thunder spear that had killed the remaining two members of the Three Blood Blade Fiends had, in fact, been his doing.
The crowd was stunned by Thunder King’s sudden intervention.
Although Thunder King appeared to be acting out of righteous indignation, some astute individuals quickly noticed that his actions reeked of silencing witnesses.
At this realization, Xuan Ya of Heaven’s Secret Pavilion and Mu Tian of Heavenly Dragon Pavilion exchanged glances, their eyes flickering with contemplation.
They were almost certain now—Thunder King was the mastermind behind the Three Blood Blade Fiends’ attempted robbery of the mysterious white-robed woman’s Silver Tower.
That knowledge sent chills down their spines. Thunder King had not only hired mercenaries to commit robbery but had also killed them to erase any trace of his involvement. His ruthlessness was truly terrifying.
And if even Xuan Ya and Mu Tian had picked up on this, how could Mo Yu not?
He glanced at the lifeless bodies of the Three Blood Blade Fiends and noticed that their dead eyes remained locked onto Thunder King.
The meaning was clear.
Seeing this, a mocking smirk curled at the corner of Mo Yu’s lips. He turned his gaze to Thunder King and sneered, "Quite the move, Thunder King. This isn’t your first time silencing witnesses, is it?"
Thunder King’s expression darkened momentarily, but he quickly composed himself. He replied in a low voice, "Prison Lord of the Thunder Prison, mind your words. Accusations require evidence. You may be strong, but my Thunder God Palace is not to be trifled with. Watch your tone."
Had the main forces of Thunder God Palace already arrived, Thunder King would have attacked Mo Yu on the spot. If not for Mo Yu’s interference, the Three Blood Blade Fiends would have successfully stolen the Silver Tower, sparing him the trouble of covering his tracks.
Thunder King’s deep-seated resentment was evident on his face.
Seeing this, Mo Yu became even more certain that Thunder King had orchestrated everything.
He said indifferently, "Cheap tricks. No need for evidence—Thunder King, you know exactly what you did."
Thunder King snorted. "The innocent remain unstained, while the guilty wallow in filth. I acted merely to uphold order against those who disrupt it."
Regardless of whether anyone believed his excuse, he turned toward the white-robed woman and smiled.
"Miss, I apologize for not stepping in sooner. Should you encounter trouble in Heavenly Thunder Continent, feel free to seek aid from Thunder God Palace. I will personally see to it."
The white-robed woman glanced at him with an indifferent expression.
"Thank you, but that won’t be necessary."
Thunder King’s eyes narrowed. He couldn’t be certain whether she suspected him, but the more he said, the more suspicious he would appear. So, after a brief exchange of pleasantries, he turned and led his subordinates away.
However, he failed to notice the cold glint in the woman’s eyes as she watched him leave.
Soon, though, she masked her emotions, turning toward Mo Yu with a faint smile.
"Many thanks for your assistance, sir."
Mo Yu waved dismissively, unconcerned. But as if remembering something, he curiously asked, "By the way, may I ask your name?"
The white-robed woman hesitated briefly before answering.
"Ling Jing."
"Ling Jing?"
Mo Yu murmured the name under his breath. A surname like Ling, combined with mastery over formations... the only person he could recall was Ling Xi, the sworn sister of Mu Chen.
But based on the timeline, Ling Xi shouldn’t even have been born yet.
However, the mention of Ling Xi and Mu Chen sparked an alarming thought in Mo Yu’s mind, leaving him momentarily dumbfounded.
Could this white-robed woman be... Mu Chen’s mother?!
