A flash of cold light arrived first, and right after, the spear shot out like a dragon.

The dark-gold long spear roared through the air like an enraged dragon, drawing a brilliant arc across the sky. It trembled slightly, then split neatly into two, each half thrusting toward Wei Yang and Xiao Yan.

Seeing this, Wei Yang immediately raised his hand and fired off three rapid lines in a row: "I surrender, I give up, I was wrong."

Xiao Yan also shouted hurriedly: "I surrender too, I was wrong."

The dark-gold spear halted, then combined back into a single weapon.

"Hmph." A soft snort sounded.

The dark-gold spear withdrew.

Space rippled, and a graceful figure slowly stepped out from within. The first thing that entered Wei Yang and Xiao Yan’s sight was a silhouette that felt strangely familiar, along with long purple hair that carried a faint seductive charm.

A pair of bright amethyst-like eyes.

This familiar presence... who else could it be besides Zi Yan?

Only, she no longer looked anything like the little girl from back then. She had completely transformed into a stunning beauty. Her tall, slender figure was wrapped in a form-fitting dark-gold battle armor.

The armor wasn’t bulky at all, clinging tightly to her exquisitely curved body, outlining graceful and alluring lines. Under that faint seductiveness was a sharp, heroic aura. The little girl from years ago had grown into a breathtakingly radiant woman.

That gorgeous, flawless face, paired with willow-leaf brows that were slightly raised in irritation, added a surprising hint of majesty. Between her brows, one could faintly see the temperament of someone born to command.

As the Dragon Emperor of the Ancient Void Dragon Clan, once she matured fully, her royal aura would only grow stronger, enough to make others tremble in awe. She held a dark-gold long spear taller than herself, standing there with a faint but terrifying pressure radiating from her.

Even Wei Yang and Xiao Yan felt a subtle sense of oppression. After more than six years apart, her once-in-ten-thousand Dragon-Phoenix Constitution had boosted her strength by a ridiculous amount.

Compared to Xiao Yan’s growth, she might be the one who truly soared straight into the heavens.

Peak Five-Star? Or already Six-Star?

Faced with the transformed Zi Yan before them, both Wei Yang and Xiao Yan were momentarily unable to adapt. They just stared, stunned, unable to snap out of it.

It was genuinely difficult to match this heroic, otherworldly beauty before them with the gluttonous, brute-strength little girl they remembered. Seeing the dumbstruck expressions on their faces, the beauty narrowed her violet eyes. A proud little snort slipped from her nose.

Her jade arm flicked, the spear thudded into the ground, and she placed her other hand on her small waist. She puffed out her chest—on purpose—making the curves even more dramatic, and barked: "What are you two staring at? Never seen a great beauty before?"

"Uh."

"Cough."

Snapping out of it, Wei Yang and Xiao Yan coughed lightly and quickly shifted their gazes away.

The little girl had grown up. Staring like that really wasn’t appropriate anymore.

Seeing their awkward reactions, Zi Yan’s lips curved slightly. Joy and playful annoyance flashed in her eyes as she shot a sideways glance at Wei Yang and asked: "Do I look good?"

"You look great, great." Wei Yang and Xiao Yan nodded in perfect sync. Who would dare say otherwise?

"Then am I still that... flat board?" Her brows rose again.

"No, no." The two of them shook their heads frantically.

"Hmph, at least you know better." Zi Yan wrinkled her nose, finally satisfied enough to drop the matter and temporarily spare them. She flipped her hand, put away the dark-gold spear, and strode over with her long legs.

She plopped down beside them and asked, pretending not to know: "So, why’d you two suddenly show up?"

"We were worried about you, obviously. Afraid you’d get beaten, so we came to check," Xiao Yan rolled his eyes.

"Who got beaten? I don’t need your help. These small problems—I can handle them myself." Zi Yan felt a warmth in her chest, but her voice remained proud.

Wei Yang scoffed: "Tch, stop bragging. If we hadn’t helped you hold the outer perimeter, Eastern Dragon Island would’ve been ganged up on already."

"I’m not afraid of being ganged up on. E-even without your help, I could handle it. But now that you’re here, even better. I’ll just stab them all—one thrust each." Zi Yan raised her chin stubbornly.

"Yes yes yes, you’re amazing." Wei Yang and Xiao Yan laughed and didn’t argue.

This girl... her temper was still the same. The hardest thing on her whole body was her mouth. She’d never admit defeat.

"Because I am amazing." Zi Yan pouted, then tossed her long purple hair with a little turn of her head. After a pause, she muttered very softly, almost inaudibly: "Thank you."

"Huh? What did you say?" Wei Yang tilted his head and asked with exaggerated shock: "What did you just say? Too quiet, I didn’t hear."

"You—" Zi Yan choked, biting her lip angrily. "Forget it if you didn’t hear."

Stupid guy, he clearly heard it. He was just pretending.

"Ha!" Their reactions made Wei Yang and Xiao Yan burst out laughing.

"You two—!" Zi Yan instantly exploded. She raised her hand to hit them: "I’ll beat you both to death!"

"Ahh! Someone help, the Dragon Emperor is attacking people!" Wei Yang and Xiao Yan had clearly been prepared. They dodged left and right while shouting dramatically.

"Pfft~ This is my territory. Even if you scream your lungs out, no one’s coming to save you." Zi Yan’s stern little face cracked instantly. She let out a giggle and chased the two idiots around the grand hall.

After a round of chaos and laughter...

"Alright, alright, enough messing around. Be serious." Wei Yang waved his hand, sat back down, and took a sip of tea.

Xiao Yan also returned to his chair, announcing a temporary ceasefire. Seeing this, Zi Yan finally stopped, though she looked reluctant. She huffed softly, then lifted her chin proudly like a triumphant little hen and strutted back to her seat.

After all that running and chasing, the slight awkwardness that had formed from so many years apart—and from Zi Yan’s drastic change in appearance—completely vanished. They were back to how they used to be.

Well... except for one thing. Zi Yan had grown up. She couldn’t just jump on them and bite them randomly whenever she got annoyed like she used to.

"What level are you now?" Wei Yang asked.

Xiao Yan also stared at her curiously.

Hearing that, Zi Yan instantly perked up. She straightened her back, though she desperately tried to act calm and casual. "Not much, really. Just early Six-Star."

Sss—

Even though both of them were mentally prepared, Wei Yang and Xiao Yan still sucked in a sharp breath at the same time.

Early Six-Star. Damn!

That was already close to high-level Dou Sheng.

Six years ago, Zi Yan had only been at the peak of Dou Zong, not even Dou Zun.

The Dragon-Phoenix Constitution truly was terrifying. No wonder it was said to appear only once every ten thousand years. Of course, Zi Yan’s rapid growth was also largely thanks to Zhu Kun’s help.

In the original story, even after absorbing the Dragon-Phoenix Origin Fruit, she was only early Four-Star.

Seeing the shock on their faces, Zi Yan felt deeply satisfied. Her eyes lit up with joy. She had waited for this moment for a long, long time—fantasizing and rehearsing it in her mind countless times.

Now, reality matched her imagination quite closely. Very good.

Zi Yan nodded to herself, feeling even smugger. She asked lightly: "Well? Am I impressive or not?"

She had finally surpassed these two guys.

Wei Yang and Xiao Yan exchanged a look, then chuckled helplessly. They both raised a thumbs-up and praised without holding back: "Impressive!"

They meant it.

Wei Yang was at early Four-Star—close to her but still behind. Xiao Yan, however, felt a bit miserable. He was only mid Two-Star... the gap was huge.

Zi Yan’s smile finally burst into full bloom. She slapped her chest proudly and said: "Don’t worry, I’ll cover you both from now on. Anyone who wants to bully you will have to get past me first."

Great. She was really indulging herself now.

Wei Yang and Xiao Yan could only smile bitterly.
