people just like Quinn helped her friends. In a way, she wanted to repay the debt by helping the world.

So to find Quinn, someone stated to be an enemy of the military base, ask her for help, made her more than conflicted.

’... Should I tell Dr. Hayley?’ She thought, then sat the tray of food down, ’But if I do, would she tell the military about him?’

Quinn stared at the meal, and his stomach growled. In his trek to this location, he burned through enough MC and calories that his body demanded compensation. Ignoring his needs, Quinn pushed himself to take another step.

"Please."

Clenching her jaw, Rosario could clearly see that whatever Quinn went through was rough, and as someone training to become a doctor, she was duty bound.

To aid those in need.

"... Fine," Rosario whispered, and ushered him to a curtained bed, "Stay still, I need to make sure I can heal your injuries correctly."

Without any further hesitation, she got to work, and hovered glowing hands over his worst injury, the leg. As she did, his bones mended together, and the pain lessened. The tenseness in his muscles reduced as the soothing feeling continued.

Yet again, Quinn’s stomach grumbled, and while she was working on his leg, he reached out towards the tray. The food wasn’t anything special, just a bowl of soup with a side of steamed vegetables and a bread, but the scent flooded his nose.

’Just a little nibble,’ He thought to himself, ’Enough to help me replenish my strength.’

Gingerly placing a spoonful of vegetables to his mouth, Quinn continued to eat more and more, unable to stop. It was a shame there was no water.

Hearing that Quinn was doing something, Rosario peeked her head up, "What are you doing, I just said to stay sti—" That was when she saw her patient eating another patient’s food.

"Wh— Stop that!" she harshly whispered, grabbing Quinn’s arm.

There were going to be other problems if Quinn kept going, like trying to explain why the tray of food was suspiciously empty if she hadn’t given it to her patient yet. Even though she was trying to help Quinn, she didn’t want to get caught as aiding a fugitive would no doubt have major consequences.

Just then, they heard a voice call out towards their direction.

"Rosario, can you help me with something?"

The two students immediately knew exactly who the voice came from. Dr. Hayley.

"Just a minute!" Rosario responded, a hint of anxiety in the tone.

However, Hayley was actually far closer than they expected, as she opened up the curtain to find her assistant next to Quinn.

Before she could say a word, Quinn interrupted her, "Don’t tell anyone I’m here."

Just like it was with Rosario, Hayley was similarly conflicted on what to do. She had known Quinn for quite a while, and the boy always seemed nice, helping those in need. After what felt like a long second, she made her choice.

"Step aside, Rosario," Hayley spoke firmly.

"Are you going to turn him in?" She whispered.

Hayley placed her hands on Rosario’s shoulders, and gently shoved her to the side. The action made Quinn prepare himself for another fight until he heard the doctor’s next words.

"If you heal him, you’ll be marked as a fugitive for aiding a criminal," Hayley said.

Rosario’s head drooped slightly, but then Hayley continued, "...but I wont."

"Now, go to the front, make sure there’s plausible deniability so they won’t punish you," Hayley firmly spoke, and Rosario nodded. She ran off to do just that.

Hayley got to work and healed the rest of Quinn’s injuries. Due to her ability level and general medical knowledge, it was far faster than Rosario’s work, but something she couldn’t heal was Quinn’s MC.

He was going to need to wait for his MC to naturally recover as it was quite low. While he was still capable of using his ability for a bit, it was by no means enough to fight at full strength.

{Quinn} I’m fully healed now, and still at the hospital.

{Erin} Good, there’s still a problem with getting Vorden to you.

{Erin} Del locked down the class, so I can’t get Vorden to copy the teleportation ability.

Erin informed him more about the situation on her end, and it was continuing to sound harder and harder to save him. She already had enough of a target, so she couldn’t do anything too suspicious.

That was when Quinn got an idea.

{Quinn} Erin, get Vorden to somehow injure himself enough to warrant going to the hospital.

{Quinn} Sometimes there are those with teleportation abilities that’ll bring injured students here.

One of the things that slipped from Erin’s mind was to inform Quinn that she gave Vorden a spider. Despite this, she relayed the information to Vorden, and he got the message.

’Alright, I just have to stay hidden for the time being,’ Quinn thought.

At the front of the hospital, Rosario was in the middle of grabbing another tray of food, when a large burly man in uniform entered.

"You wouldn’t have seen a fugitive named Quinn Talen, have you?" The burly man slowly asked.

The sheer threatening aura that was coming off of him caused Rosario to stammer out her words.

"I— I— I—"

"Simple yes or no question, lady," He interrupted.

"Well, you see, uh—"

The man forcefully shoved her aside, and stormed down the hospital hall. Rosario recollected herself rather quickly, and chased after him.

"S—Sir! You can’t—"

"I am your superior!" The man shouted into her face, and she recoiled.

Both Quinn and Hayley heard the yelling, and she ushered him to stay behind the curtain. Stepping out, she saw the man in question, Burder.

"Sir, you are not authorized—"

"I’m authorized to do as I damn please," Burder shouted back.

Hayley got between him and the curtained bed Quinn was at, "If you disturb my patients—"

"Then you’ll what?" Burder sneered, looking down at her in disgust, "Tell your mom? Or better yet, your dad!"

Before she could protest, he shifted the ground under her feet to the side, and ripped the curtain open. However, instead of the boy, a spike rapidly thrusted towards his chest.

The spike pierced his body, lifting him a foot off the ground. It was a cheap move that in any other situation he would’ve easily avoided, but due to the limitations of his soul weapon, left him vulnerable.

"Damn brat!" Burder spat out through bloodied teeth, but oddly enough, he smiled.

Just then, 3 stoney golems climbed out of the ground, and under the curtains. Gritting his teeth, Quinn powered his legs with qi and ran out of the curtained area. However, the stone golems continued to chase him. He looked over his shoulder briefly, then tripped over another golem that came from the entrance.

Behind himself, Quinn could hear Burder laugh manically, only to get interrupted by coughs of blood.

A stoney golem leapt onto his back, and another to his leg. Counting them all, there were a total of 5.

’Crap, it’s trouble enough that I barely have any MC left, but it’s even worse that there’s other injured students around us,’ Quinn thought.

Out of all the people to get caught in the cross fire, the ones he wanted least were those in the hospital, as they were more likely to be low levels like he once was.

Still, he had to fight. If he couldn’t take down the Sergeant now, then he had no hope of escaping from whatever plans Duke has with him.
