Blood Queen Reborn
Chapter 228: Save Quinn
[New quest available]
[Save Quinn Talen]
This was a system message Erin received not that long ago while she waited for the best time to leave, and it worried her.
To save Quinn Talen made it seem like if Erin failed, then he was going to die unless she did something about it.
Raising her hand, Erin impatiently waited for Del to turn around and spot it.
"—Now that we are able to calculate for X, would anyone like to— Yes Erin?" Del said.
"Can I use the bathroom?" Erin said.
Del’s face turned sour, "Do you not think you should’ve gone before class?"
Erin’s face turned equally sour. Out of all the times for Del to be an annoyance, this was definitely up there. Thankfully, she had a solution.
"Do you want me to bleed on these chairs?" Erin spat out.
"If this is some sort of prank where you are trying to get out of class and go to the doctor’s office then clearly you’re not in any kind of dange—" Del was in the middle of saying, when Erin slammed her fist hard on her desk.
"Was I not clear? I am on my period," Erin stressed.
An awkward silence filled the air, but Erin didn’t care about getting embarrassed. She just had to leave the classroom no matter what.
"... Fine, I suppose I can allow you to leave," Del grumbled, and shook his head.
The last time he denied someone from going to the bathroom because of a period, he received complaints about sexism discrimination, and simply didn’t want to deal with that again.
Erin got up, and quickly made her way out of the class. Once she was out of view, she began whispering into the robot spider.
"I’m heading to the front of the school," she whispered.
From what she could hear on the spider’s speaker, it sounded like stones were getting thrown around, and breaking apart. It had to be the fight between Quinn and the two people who were there.
Activating shadow cloak, Erin had shadows envelop her entire body, making her appear as a strange foggy mist from an outside perspective. Although there wasn’t anyone in the hall with her right now, that didn’t mean someone couldn’t encounter her.
"It’s not looking good for Quinn right now," Vincent noted, "You should hurry."
’I know,’ Erin thought back.
She arrived at the front of the school, and saw a woman on the ground calling for backup, then she saw a man trying to dig into the floor. Erin could sense that Quinn was nearby, but couldn’t see him.
{Quinn} I’m hiding underground.
{Quinn} Are you nearby?
{Erin} I am.
{Erin} There’s a sergeant who called for backup. There’s going to be more people on you soon.
{Erin} Get out of the ground, and I’ll get you to safety.
There was a slight pause in Quinn’s response, and Erin feared something happened to him.
{Quinn} I was hoping to take both Miss D and Burder down, but I wasn’t strong enough.
{Erin} You fought against two fully trained Sergeants. Of course you weren’t strong enough. You were effectively fighting someone on the same level as the blind swordsman.
{Quinn} That’s not the problem. My leg was broken, which means even if I did go on the surface, I can’t run very far.
Checking his system tab, Erin could see that it was at 6/15 HP.
The fact that Quinn was below half his health according to the system wasn’t a good sign, but he was at least hidden underground. Still, there was a time limit for how long he could hide. The earth ability was the military’s domain, they were going to find him eventually.
Erin gritted her teeth. She was so close to him, but there was no way she could use shadow cloak to hide Quinn as it was user only skill. Quinn could try to tunnel his way into a different location, but he couldn’t run, and the military would no doubt have plenty of sergeants and officers searching for him.
He couldn’t even leave the base as it was on an island, meaning that unless he had enough MC to dig a tunnel under the ocean, he was stuck here.
"There is a way for Quinn to leave the military base," the system noted, "If he can get to a teleporter, then he could escape that way."
It was a good idea on paper, but ever since Erin fell into the red portal planet teleporter, the portal room was heavily guarded, so entering without getting spotted would be difficult.
{Quinn} Get Vorden to help.
{Quinn} If he copies a teleportation ability, then he can teleport us into the storage room.
{Quinn} We can leave the planet before they even notice we were there.
The idea could work, but it was also just as equally risky.
Although Erin wanted to stay and help Quinn now, Miss D turned around, getting a sense that there was some sort of person behind her. A trait of Erin’s shadow cloak was that it could obscure her appearance, but it did not make her fully invisible when it was well lit, and the sun hadn’t set yet.
Miss D got up, and stared at where Erin stood, then she lifted up a rock in the air, and fired it.
Erin easily sidestepped it, but took that as her sign to leave. Maybe she could’ve fought them off, but when there were more on the way, it would slowly become impossible.
Frustrated, Erin ran off.
’I’m sorry Quinn, I’m sorry I can’t fight by your side.’

Vorden sat in class, listening to his teacher go on and on about the history of abilities. This kind of topic was one of the last things he liked hearing as he was already very familiar with it.
"With humanity on the brink of extinction, the Originals were forced to reveal their powers, as keeping it hidden any longer would risk their own lives."
Internally, Vorden scoffed. He knew there was a crucial bit of history that he was taught back on the island. There were a few Originals of the past who wanted to reveal their abilities far sooner, but the fear of his grandfather, Hilston, prevented them from speaking up. It wasn’t until things looked dire during the war that they gathered up the courage to ask him permission.
"Don’t think back to those stupid fucking lessons," Raten groaned, "There are better things to occupy your mind, like that chick in the front row. She’s got some nice melons if you know what I mean."
Before Vorden could scold his brother, a spider suddenly appeared on his hand.
"Smack it before it bites you!" Raten said.
Something about the sudden appearance of the spider made Vorden think otherwise. Instead of killing it, the spider quickly crawled up Vorden’s arm, and next to his ear.
"Quinn is in trouble, and I need your help," a feminine voice replayed. Clearly a recording.
Vorden suddenly found himself unable to breathe. He didn’t know how the spider could talk to him, but that didn’t matter, he recognized the voice as Erin’s. She’d never ask for help on something unless it was serious.
"Vorden, snap out of it, he’s moving!" Raten yelled as he grabbed him by the shoulders.
Vorden shook his head, and turned around to see that the little one wasn’t in his usual cradling position on the floor. He was gone from that spot, and walking over to where he was sitting.
The little one was going to take control.
