Chapter 52: Soul Steal

At that moment, Max felt a terrifying sensation. He seemed to have lost control of his body and could do nothing. Everything around him seemed to have disappeared, and all that was left was eternal darkness.

Still, its main ability is to steal a person’s soul, but it isn’t simple to steal that person’s soul; it needs preparation, and slowly she needed to anchor that person’s soul, which is why she was able to take Jules Silverblade’s soul easily, as she already prepared for that, but Max was different.

She was very sensitive about souls and could feel something weird about Max’s soul, so she originally wanted his body to make a servant, using his body as the potential of the servant depends on the corpse.

He almost lost his mind as he suddenly heard a voice that seemed to calm his mind.

"All together will bring peace."

He heard the words but couldn’t understand what Creator was. Three dominators? keys? He couldn’t understand what these words meant. But as confusion filled his mind, the darkness slowly began to fade.

His senses gradually returned. The feeling of his body came back. His vision returned.

Then—Max suddenly found himself standing in front of the unconscious Spiritual Awakener. And everything he felt was like was just a hallucination.

He didn’t know what this meant and why he heard those cryptic words, but he was sure this was triggered because she did something.

He slowly moved close to her and was ready to give her the final blow, but suddenly a very weird feeling appeared in his mind, and immediately he stopped.

Max was surprised and couldn’t believe why he felt a connection with her. Could he be losing his mind, or is this some kind of trick this witch uses on his enemy?

But the feeling wasn’t affecting his thoughts. He remained completely in control of himself.

If he wanted to kill her, he could still do it without hesitation. So what exactly did this strange connection mean?

Just as he was thinking, she finally seemed to regain her consciousness and looked at Max with curious eyes.

"Who are you?" She asked with a confused expression, but then she felt terrifying pain. She seemed to have instinctively activated the soul steal’s ability to transform soul energy into vital energy to heal herself.

Max looked at her with a doubtful expression. Could it be she was acting so that he didn’t kill her? But still he asked, as he still felt the strange connection, and who knows what it meant? He could be in danger.

"You don’t remember?" Max asked, narrowing his eyes. "Really?"

She seemed to feel a bit better and slowly moved her eyes and looked at him, nodding her head a bit. "Yes, who are you? And why am I in such a sorry state?"
