Blood Primordial: Start With S-Rank Blood Dragon Bloodline
Chapter 42: Three Days
Max didn’t wait a moment; he needed to heal as quickly as possible and drank the entire middle-grade healing potion in a single gulp, leaving not a drop.
The moment the crimson healing potion went down his throat, he felt a terrifying surge of vitality within him, like waves. He instantly felt his every cell, muscle, and blood absorbing it like a terrifying, hungry beast.
And his body immediately started to heal at an unprecedented rate. Within a few seconds, he felt better, and almost all his fractured bones were half healed; he was able to heal enough to stand on his feet.
He was shocked by its effectiveness; he was healed in a matter of seconds from the brink of death. And it wasn’t over; he should be able to be perfectly healed in a minute or two, as he felt quite a large amount of vital energy within him that was constantly nourishing him.
Not only did he feel something different; the blood within him seemed to be absorbing the vital energy, creating more blood, but also he felt his strength and physique were improving.
This feeling surprised him, as this didn’t happen when he drank the low-grade healing potion. But he wasn’t sure that everyone felt the same when they used the middle-grade healing potion. Still, it was great news, as even if it wasn’t a massive improvement, improving his strength was his top priority for him.
Seeing him standing, Andrew and Mathew sighed in relief, as it seemed the middle-grade healing potion was really extraordinary.
"Kid, you really have a death wish. How dare you face the second-grade monster? But you are really strong; you are not only able to fight it for some time and have even survived taking a direct hit from it." Andrew smiled and said with a laugh.
Quickly, the shadow wolf mercenaries also came towards them and started praising Max. As they had thought he was definitely going to die, and now seeing him survive this, they were determined to make good relations with him.
The battlefield on the other side also calmed down a bit as the second-grade beasts were taken care of by the transformation realm experts from the noble factions.
Most second-grade beasts were weaker than Bloodline Awakeners unless they possessed an especially powerful bloodline or exceptionally pure lineage. Also, as they fought with just their instinct and raw power, make them quite weak to experts in the transformation realm who have techniques and control honed over decades.
So even though there was a difference in numbers, they were quickly handled by transformation realm experts.
The second wave calmed down a bit, although beasts were still pouring out, but they had handled one major crisis.
But it didn’t come without cost, as they lost quite many guards and bloodline awakeners in the surprise attacks of second-grade beasts.
They weren’t like Max and died instantly by a single attack. Dozens of bloodline awakeners and more than a hundred blood seed warriors died along with thousands of ordinary guards and soldiers.
The loss was quite heavy, but what bothered them was how they were able to hide their presence even from a transformation realm expert until they reached the wall. This was clearly not possible unless some outer forces were in play here.
Atop the outpost tower, the old commander of the Flameheart Family stood beside the female captain who had saved Max.
She stared toward the battlefield with a solemn expression. "It seems the second-grade beasts were spiritually marked, which is why they were able to hide their presence."
The old commander narrowed his eyes.
"Spiritually marked?"
He paused for a moment before slowly understanding the implication.
"Then..."
His expression became grave. "There are spiritual awakeners involved in this mess."
This changes quite a bit, and to create such a massive beast tide covering the southern region of an entire state cannot be done by one or two people. Whoever it is, it must be done by a massive group or organization with terrifying power.
"Remain alert; if necessary, we have to use that." The old commander said with a bit of a grave expression.
Hearing this, her eyes glowed with a sharp expression, but she quickly calmed down as the involvement of spiritual awakeners made the matter serious, and for such dangers, those items could save them.
The battle continued. The second wave lasted for several more hours. Fortunately, no other unexpected attacks occurred.
By morning, the sky over the southern region of the State of Silver River remained unusually dark.
Thick clouds covered the sun. A faint, bloody aura lingered across the land, formed from the countless deaths occurring throughout the ongoing beast tide.
Although the second wave ended, the large number of people made the entire battlefield more gloomy than usual. They had almost lost one-third of the people, and the fear crept within everyone’s mind as they felt the horrors of the beast tide.
And this was the beginning, as they had only survived the first day, and beast tides can last three or four days.
Max had continued fighting after recovering, but he deliberately restrained himself and behaved like an injured Bloodline Awakener who was still recovering.
In reality...
His body had almost completely recovered within ten minutes. Even his damaged internal organs had been fully restored. And strangely enough, they seemed even stronger than before.
Max sat against the wall, quietly observing the battlefield. His eyes swept across the countless corpses scattered below.
As the second wave ended, everyone almost collapsed as they were too tired to even speak.
And no one dared relax completely. After what had happened with the second-grade beasts, everyone understood one thing.
At any moment... Another monster could emerge from the darkness and slaughter them.
The first day of the beast tide ended, and more than half a million lives were lost throughout the southern region of Silver River State.
After a few hours of rest, the third wave of beasts once again came. The battle began again and again.
Then the fourth.
Then the fifth.
The battle continued without end.
Every Transformation Realm expert remained vigilant, constantly scanning the incoming beasts to prevent another group of second-grade monsters from launching a surprise attack.
Days passed.
The beasts continued coming.
The soldiers continued fighting.
The blood continued flowing.
Three days passed since the beginning of the beast tide.
Many soldiers and bloodline awakeners lost their lives in these three days, but for some reason, second-grade beasts didn’t appear, and they, with sheer will and determination, survived the three days of continuous hell.
