Chapter 250: Safe and Cozy

Seoha’s POV

I can hear the faint fit of giggles coming from outside.

It sounds like little kids are playing around. Someone is kicking a ball, and the noise of their laughter is so bright and happy that I snuggle into the sheets.

Happiness is a beautiful and rare currency in my world, but these days, everything feels a bit more colorful.

Especially now that I have Kang Taesan, Sooin, and the baby...the babies on the way.

"What are you doing, pass it to me" a girl’s voice says and the smile on my face stretches even wider.

I don’t feel like waking up yet, everything feels so dreamy. I like the sound of happy children coming from outside the room.

I like the smell of the clean fresh air mixing with Taesan’s calming pheromones.

I like the feel on his arm around my waist. He made me lie on my side last night. My alpha was so concerned I wouldn’t feel comfortable with two babies in me.

"Ya! The ball is mine" a young boy’s laughter drifts to me, and I open my eyes slightly.

The window is open, soft wind keeps blowing in, bringing in the soft smell of the nearby tree. It smells like an orange tree

I gently push Taesan’s arm off my body and sit up.

There’s a vanity right in front of us and I can see myself in the clean mirror.

My hair looks silly; the brown strands are sticking up at odd angles. But despite the silly hair, my face looks well rested.

"Twins" I say softly, running my fingers through my hair, sliding them down my neck and bringing them even lower to my stomach.

My stomach is no longer flat. There’s a small bump right there. It’s small and barely noticeable, but it’s there.

Daeshin told me I would never be a parent, he made the dream feel unrealist, yet here I am.

"Twins" I repeat again.

Yesterday happened so fast that I couldn’t process the information and rejoice as loud as I should.

’We are going to be the mom of three wonderful pups’ my omega says and I grin at my reflection before turning my head to look at the alpha lying next to me.

He is the father of my twins, the man who gave me his collar, and the man who wants to marry me.

Kang Taesan.

Wow...there’s so much unprocessed things happened last night. We were so happy about our twins, and he asked me to marry him.

I can’t wait to see them.

Trying to contain my happiness, I draw my knees up, wrap my arms around my legs and stare dreamily at my mate.

Kang Taesan is a complex man, complex and special.

Even in his sleep, his brows are pinched together and his fingers are twitching. He looks like he’s pulling a trigger in his dream.

"Taesan-ah..." I softly whisper his name.

I don’t really have anything to say. I just want to be able to give him some comfort.

He went on a killing spree last night, I still don’t know why, but I’m confident that everything is going to be okay for us.

We’ll make it work out for us.

"When you call my name like that..." he says and I startle, eyes widening with shock. Has he been awake all along?

"...it feels like everything has fallen in place for me" he says, opening his beautiful foxy eyes to look at me.

"Do you know that?" he asks and I shake my head. I had no idea he feels this way about me, and it makes me feel proud.

"You make everything feel like a fairytale. Like my world is not on fire twenty-four seven" he says.

"It doesn’t have to be on fire all the time" I say and he lets out a deep laughter, it’s soft and low.

"I’ll put all the fire out" he says, pushing himself up, "you’re to only worry about eating breakfast for our pups."

Oh, this man...he makes me feel butterflies.

"Should we go down? I’ll like to meet Taerin noona properly" I say, blushing at the idea of meeting his family.

"You can go ahead" he says.

"Why won’t you come?" I pout as I ask the question. I’m really introverted and don’t know what I’ll do when I see her.

I might faint!

"I’m not ready for a scolding from her" he says and it’s my turn to laugh. "You’re scared of her?" I ask.

"I’m not scared of anyone, she’s just-"

"I’ll tell her anything you say about her" I stick my tongue out at him, and he rolls his eyes.

"Kiss?" he asks and I tsk, leaning in to kiss him a soft kiss on the lips before getting out of bed.

I use the bathroom, practice my greeting in the mirror, and finally go down the stairs.

"Hello, Taerin-ssi, my name is Shin Seoha..." I repeat my greeting as I walk through the hall.

The house is nice and cozy like it’s made for a small family.

The walls are painted white; the paint looks relatively fresh. The floor is clean and polished. There are some drawings on the walls. The whole place truly feels like a good place to grow up in.

"Oh, Seoha, you’re up" Taerin’s strong but kind voice greets me before I even notice her.

She’s wearing a sweatshirt and a pair of faded jeans. Her outfit is simple, but she carries the elegance of a powerful woman, the first Kang grandchild.

"Y-yes, hello" I bow but she doesn’t see me bowing.

She’s moving around the kitchen like a busy bird. She’s throwing plates in the sink, mixing something in a white bowl, and watching what she’s frying in the pan.

"Sorry, breakfast is always busy for me. I gave my kids a break" she says, still moving around actively.

"Uh...can I help?" I ask.

"No, you’re my guest, please sit" she throws over her shoulder, but I just can’t stand by, so I go to the sink.

"I can wash the dishes" I say.

"You don’t have to do that, dear. I’ll handle it"

"I’m okay with it, Taerin-ssi" I insist and she sighs, giving me a tired smile.

"Thank you. Oh, and call me noona, you’re family after all" she says and I nod eagerly. Happy to be accepted into the family by her.

"After this, let’s meet the kids, mmh?" she asks and my smile grows wider, "yes, I’ll love that" I say.

I think I’ve really been accepted into the Kang family.
