"You only know how to dodge? You bastard!"

Kang Ian shrugged.

"That’s enough to beat you. You idiot, you can’t defeat me."

Kai froze mid-air. Kei also stiffened; Kang Ian’s words struck his heart with a sharp pang.

"Kang Ian!"

Kei’s eyes turned red. The black dragon’s intelligence issue had been gnawing at his mind every night, and now Kang Ian was picking at that very wound.

Kang Ian leaned down, close to Kei’s ear.

"He doesn’t look any smarter after getting angry. How disappointing. I’m not pleased at all that this idiot is being placed on the same level as me, as one of Korea’s top 5 SS-rank hunters."

"I can hear you!" Kai roared.

"Then your intelligence isn’t completely useless after all."

Kang Ian chuckled.

"You’re dead!"

Kai immediately lunged forward again.

Kei was so furious he ground his teeth. He couldn’t stand being held suspended like an object in this fight, and he couldn’t stand the burning teeth marks on his cheek any longer.

"Kang Ian, put me down on the ground now!"

"No, I don’t want to. It’s all rubble and ruins down there. I don’t want my fragile little Craftsman to get hurt."

Clearly, Kang Ian didn’t care about Kei’s protests at all.

Kei bit his lip.

The mana in his body had already been drained too much. After coming to this world, it took him a long time to accumulate just a small amount of mana. Over a thousand units of mana was all the energy he had painstakingly gathered during this time.

But right now, he truly had no other choice.

Kei raised his hand, and pale blue sparks began to gather between his fingers, catching Kang Ian’s attention.

Kang Ian looked down at him curiously.

"Kei, what are you planning to do?"

"Put me down."

"No."

Kang Ian didn’t want to admit it, but feeling Kei’s small body cradled completely in his arms was getting a little addictive.

"This is the last time I’ll say it, Hunter Kang Ian!"

"You can’t do anything anyway."

Kei stared at Kang Ian with a cold gaze. He had endured this man’s childishness more than enough.

"Then have a taste of my little trick."

A small magic circle appeared in front of his palm.

"ELECTRIC RESISTANCE!"

A surge of blue electricity instantly shot out from Kei’s hand, then ran straight into Kang Ian’s chest.

Zap—!

Kang Ian’s entire body went rigid. The blue currents ran along his arms, shoulders, and then spread all over his body. The gravitational ability maintaining the two of them in the air wavered for a moment.

"Kei... What the hell is this!?"

Kang Ian gritted his teeth, but his body had gone numb and couldn’t react immediately.

And that single moment was all the black dragon needed.

Kai immediately lunged forward.

"Kei!"

His scale-covered hand caught Kei’s arm. His golden eyes lit up with joy as he pulled Kei toward him forcefully.

"Wait!" Kei flinched.

He was yanked out of Kang Ian’s arms, falling straight into Kai’s chest. Kai immediately wrapped his arms tightly around Kei, his wings closing in to shield them both.

Kang Ian was still frozen in the air. He could only watch as Kai held Kei close and dove downward at terrifying speed.

"Damn it... Why..."

He tried to lift his arm, but the electric currents were still running through his body.

No one expected an F-rank Craftsman to be able to generate electricity that could affect an SS-rank hunter.

If Kei had the leisure, he would have explained that this was because different energy sources have different resistances.

Unless Kang Ian could use mana like people from Kei’s old world, even a single F-rank spell could still produce a few minor effects on him. Although with his strong body, Kang Ian wouldn’t be injured, suffering some adverse effects was only natural.

Down below, the luxurious headquarters of Guild Crying Ghost had been reduced to ruins. Cracked walls, toppled stone pillars, and a roof blown off from earlier. Amidst the rubble, Moon So Yeon and Kim Sora were hurriedly fleeing the danger zone.

"Kai!"

"Stop!" Kei yelled. "There are a lot of ordinary people down there!"

Only then did Kai look down.

The pile of rubble was getting closer and closer. If Kai and Kei fell together, they would create a small explosion that would affect the surrounding area. Kai’s half-dragon body actually weighed no less than his giant dragon form.

"Ah..."

Kai blinked, his little head trying to think,

"Then we’ll fall a bit more softly. I won’t let Kei get hurt..."

The corner of Kei’s mouth twitched.

"What do you mean, fall a bit more softly?!"

Kai tried to spread his wings wide to slow down, but the dive was too fast. His massive body still dragged Kei straight into the ground.

Boom——!

A thunderous explosion rang out.

Bricks and stones shot into the sky. Dust and smoke covered the entire ruin. The ground shook violently, and the remaining glass windows in the surrounding buildings shattered all at once.

After a long while, amid the thick dust, Moon So Yeon tremblingly raised her head.

"Sora... where’s Kei? Did you see him?"

Kim Sora pointed toward the center of the explosion, still billowing with smoke, her voice trembling.

"Th-there."

In the haze of dust, a figure with black scales covering his face and neck slowly stood up. Kai was still holding Kei tightly in his arms, shielding him with his wings. A large bump had formed on his head from landing headfirst, but his expression was full of pride.

"Kei, I protected you successfully! Are you hurt?"

Kei lay in Kai’s arms, hair disheveled, face covered in dust. He stayed silent for a few seconds, then slowly raised his head to look at the devastated scene around him.

"Do you know how much more you just destroyed? You really are a naughty dragon!"

Kai looked around. Then he quietly turned his face away evasively.

"At least you’re not hurt."

After saying that, Kai proudly flapped his wings.

"Besides, I have a lot of money, I’ll compensate for everything, don’t worry! I have plenty of money, just tell Do Ae Young to bring it over!"

To Kai, the only praiseworthy function of those two-legged animals was running over to deliver money.

Up above, Kang Ian finally regained his ability to move. He landed amid the rubble, his gaze icy cold as he stared at Kai holding Kei.

However, Kang Ian knew this battle should stop here. He didn’t want to provoke that stupid dragon and turn Dong-San City into a flattened plain.
