[BL] After SSS-rank mage reborn as the Legendary Craftsman
Chapter 61: An obedient, soft human-shaped pillow
A transparent layer of light covered the entire store. Blue energy veins spread across the walls, ceiling, and floor, connecting into a complete protective barrier.
Sora’s eyes widened.
"Grandma Kim left this behind?"
"Yes."
Kei looked at the shield in front of him, a complex feeling rising in his heart.
Grandma Kim had prepared so many things for him before she knew she was going to die, it truly made Kei’s heart ache.
"Don’t go outside, okay? This barrier can withstand attacks from high-level monsters for a period of time."
"What about you, Kei? Don’t go outside when it is so dangerous!"
"I’ll come back as soon as there’s danger, so don’t worry."
Kei smiled lightly, then turned and walked out of the store.
Sora stood behind the barrier, watching his back gradually disappear into the empty street.
"You have to come back, Kei..."
She said with a soft voice...
Kei didn’t turn around, but he still heard Sora’s words, and he nodded slightly to himself.
Kei walked faster and faster.
The closer he got to that Dungeon, the more violent the energy fluctuations became. The glass windows on both sides of the street rattled, and a few parked cars along the road automatically set off their alarms. The air was heavy, as if squeezed by an invisible hand.
Kei’s intuition was continuously warning him. Some kind of terrifying power was about to awaken inside that Dungeon with the strange energy fluctuations.
Kei had just run past a corner when he suddenly stopped.
Ahead, right outside the blockade area around the Dungeon that Guild Black Rose was assaulting, someone was already standing there.
A tall back was cast under the red-purple light, a black coat fluttering in the wind. The man carried no team with him, only silently watching the trembling Dungeon gate.
Kei recognized that black hair and those platinum eyes.
That person is Kang Ian.
A SS-rank Hunter, Guild Master of Crying Ghost.
Kang Ian heard the footsteps behind him and slowly turned his head. His face still wore that tired look, as if he hadn’t slept for days, but his platinum eyes were unusually sharp.
"You sensed its danger too? Then why are you still coming here? Mr. Normal Craftsman?" Ian asked Kei with a smile.
Kei didn’t answer right away. He looked at the Dungeon gate, then glared at the man in front of him.
"I just came to take a look because I felt something strange. When did Kang Ian-ssi get here?"
"Hust a moment before you."
Kang Ian turned back to look at the gate.
"Anyway, the one who’ll probably end up cleaning up this mess is me, so I should care about this matter."
Another roar sounded.
Boom!
The massive gate shook. The ground cracked beneath the feet of the two.
Kei clenched his fists.
"Guild Black Rose is still inside."
"Yeah." Kang Ian replied. "But we won’t act, unless the Dungeon erupts and the monsters inside break out, then an outside Guild is allowed to act in an area managed by another Guild..."
Kang Ian smirked.
"That’s when I’ll have a legitimate reason to save people."
Kei watched him standing there casually waiting, and felt a bit annoyed inside.
There were people about to die inside that Dungeon, and Kang Ian had no intention of saving them at all, what a truly terrible person!
Right then, an invisible wave of gravity pressed down on the ground. The stones floating around the gate immediately fell, forming a straight path into the Dungeon.
As if it were inviting Kei and Kang Ian in.
"Alright, this Dungeon is interesting, but I won’t break the rules. What about you?"
Kang Ian stepped up beside Kei, his large body pressing close, making Kei feel tiny under his massive frame.
Kang Ian’s smile was full of interest in Kei.
"Kei, you came here to save them, right? So why don’t you hurry up and go in to save them?"
If Kei truly had the combat abilities he possessed as a mage, he would definitely not hesitate to hurl a forbidden-curse level fireball right at Kang Ian’s face for being so infuriating.
Even though he had only met Kang Ian three times, not once had Kang Ian managed to leave Kei with any favorable impression. The first time they met in Thunder’s shop, Kang Ian approached him very brashly, startling Kei, who had just illegally immigrated into this world, and making him think that a stranger had discovered his unspeakable secret.
The second time he met Kang Ian, it was because Kai had picked a fight with Moon So Yeon, and Kang Ian and Kai almost came to blows right in front of him.
As a guardian who was very protective of the child in his household, Kei was truly displeased that Kang Ian wanted to hit his black dragon.
And this time, Kei felt angry that Kang Ian had so little regard for human life.
"He is so annoying..."
Kei couldn’t help but mutter under his breath.
"Hm?"
Kang Ian grinned with excitement, his gaze never leaving the beautiful, flushed face of the young man before him, who was holding back his anger.
Only Kang Ian knew that every time he got close to this young man, the fatigue from his prolonged insomnia would ease a little, putting him in a much better mood.
It was as if there was some very distinct energy emanating from this young man’s body.
Although Kang Ian didn’t know much about Kei yet, his instincts were urging him to find a way to get closer to him and stay by his side just a little longer.
Kang Ian’s eyes flickered, and the corners of his lips curled up slightly.
So this Dong-San city had to belong to him, so he could cast his own net over this beautiful young man, making him stay by his side.
Making him nothing more than an obedient, soft human-shaped pillow for Kang Ian.
