Chapter 284: Chapter 283: Moment of Crisis, Yellow Hair’s Opportunity

Upon hearing this, Chen Peng let out a sigh of relief and turned to look at Lin Feng.

He could never have imagined that this man, who looked to be around twenty years old, could exert such immense pressure on him.

Huizi had a staff member lead Chen Peng to another conference room.

"Someone over there will discuss the follow-up contract details with you. Congratulations on your successful bid."

It wasn’t until he heard Huizi’s sweet voice that Chen Peng snapped back to reality.

’I really won the bid!’

Chen Peng took two deep breaths. After all, he was the project manager for one of the top construction companies in the south.

No matter how excited he was on the inside, he had to maintain his composure.

District F was the largest planned area on Lin Feng’s property.

It was primarily a residential zone.

Taking on the construction and development of such a large area within three months was a difficult task in itself.

Only a major company could possibly handle such a lucrative project...

But in total, fifty to sixty companies had come for this bidding session.

And quite a few of them had their eyes on this particular district.

No one expected it to be snapped up by just the second company to bid.

The project managers who had been preparing to bid on this district all looked grim.

They had no choice but to change their strategy and compete for other districts.

Lin Feng’s announcement also made many companies realize something.

If they quoted a price within his ideal range right from the start, a decision would be made very quickly.

Once the decision was made, the process was extremely simple, moving directly to contract negotiations.

Chen Peng standing up caused a brief commotion in the hall.

Everyone stared at the lucky man Lin Feng had chosen.

Now, there were seven districts left.

When Du Hai and Tian Xiaowu had originally planned the areas, they had divided them into three main categories.

The entertainment district, the commercial district, and the residential district.

These three major districts were each further subdivided into three parts.

That made nine districts, plus the landmark hotel Lin Feng planned to build at the very center of the property, for a total of ten districts.

Zhang Kun and Su Ruoxi had taken two districts.

Now, Chen Peng had taken one.

The regional plan displayed on the large screen now showed only seven districts remaining.

The nearly fifty remaining companies stared like wolves at the juicy cuts of meat on the projector screen.

The project managers from the next few companies after Chen Peng all came up and quoted prices that were outside Lin Feng’s ideal range.

Finally, someone appeared with a more suitable bid.

However, Lin Feng saw that the system had given this person a very low rating for personal ability.

’He’s probably just someone who got in through connections.’

The company behind a person like that was bound to have some shady dealings.

So, even though the price was right, Lin Feng still rejected him.

This kind of one-and-done bidding process was a format these construction company managers had never encountered before.

But they soon discovered something.

Aside from the fact that their companies had lost all initiative, this method was actually very fast.

And it saved a lot of time.

In less than an hour, results had been given to ten companies.

Unfortunately, out of those ten companies, only Chen Peng had won a bid.

Lin Feng was not happy with this result.

So, in the proceedings that followed, Lin Feng decided to speed things up.

He had the relevant documents from the bidding companies given to Huizi for review.

Lin Feng made the decisions quickly and directly.

By noon,

Lin Feng had already found suitable construction companies for all the districts.

Looking at the twelve remaining construction companies, which hadn’t even gotten a chance to come up and make a bid, Huizi sighed silently to herself.

She maintained a polite smile on her face. "My apologies, gentlemen. The rules were made very clear at the beginning. I’m sorry, but you’re out of options."

The expressions on the faces of these twelve project managers were extremely ugly.

Some even stood up and left in a huff.

Lin Feng didn’t care what happened to those twelve managers.

Business was business.

It wasn’t like charity where you could just hand things out freely.

They should have been prepared for the sunk cost from the moment they decided to come.

Lin Feng had other things to do, so of course he couldn’t stay here forever.

Before leaving, Lin Feng sent Huizi a message: "If anyone causes trouble, just have security come in. Handle it as you see fit."

Just as Huizi saw the message, an indignant project manager from one of the construction companies kicked his chair away.

"What’s with this lottery bullshit? You call this a fair draw for me?"

"If they’d just picked any random one, I could’ve at least gone up and made an offer!"

The man was burly and had a mole at the corner of his mouth.

He glared menacingly at Huizi as he spoke.

If Huizi hadn’t been a woman, the man probably would have gotten physical.

Huizi wasn’t the least bit frightened by the scene.

With a smile, she said, "Luck is a component of ability. I trust you understand that, Manager Liu Hua."

The manager, whose name was Liu Hua, snorted coldly.

"We came all this way just to sit here and watch other people bid?"

"So the twelve of us just deserve this? Not even getting a chance to get on stage?"

As Liu Hua spoke, he fanned the flames of emotion among the other managers around him.

A crowd immediately surrounded Huizi.

"I don’t care how the bidding went! You’re going to give us an explanation for this!"

Liu Hua shouted.

Huizi, having already received Lin Feng’s instructions, had called for security in advance.

Just as Liu Hua and his group cornered Huizi,

the staff from the security company Lin Feng had hired arrived.

The security guards were all well over six feet tall, and every one of them was a trained professional.

In fact, a large portion of the people Lin Feng had hired had prior training experience.

They were in excellent physical condition.

When this group saw the situation, they immediately understood what was happening.

With practiced efficiency, they pulled Liu Hua and his disorderly mob apart.

Huizi dusted off her hands. "I told you all from the beginning. If you have any complaints, you are more than welcome to file them."

"Our bidding conference has been officially registered, and your behavior just now was recorded by the cameras."

"I hope you all watch your step, Mr. Liu!"

After saying this, Huizi gave the security personnel a meaningful look.

The guards, using skillful techniques, escorted all of them out of the conference hall.

Huizi had already left long ago through a staff-only exit.

「Meanwhile.」

Since Huizi herself was in charge of the real estate projects under Lin Feng’s company,

she secretly made a note of the men from these few construction companies.

From this day forward, these troublemaking construction companies would absolutely never be considered as potential partners for any of Huizi’s projects.

Yellow Hair had been observing Lin Feng carefully for a long time.

His original plan was to cripple Lin Feng’s legs outside the school.

But Lin Feng had spent the entire previous day on campus.

The school had too many security cameras and a high volume of foot traffic.

If Yellow Hair tried to cause trouble on campus with his motorcycle, the risk would be too high.

Yellow Hair, for his part, was taking the job seriously. He was getting paid to do it, and he was being thorough.

When he saw Lin Feng drive to a convention center today,

Yellow Hair knew his chance had come.

He squatted in a corner at the intersection, staring intently at the convention center’s exit.

After waiting the entire morning, Yellow Hair finally saw Lin Feng appear.

’There’s the punk. I’ve finally got you!’

Yellow Hair ground his cigarette into the pavement.

He immediately stood up.

Next to him was a beat-up, rickety motorcycle.

Don’t be fooled by its shabby appearance.

In reality, Yellow Hair had deliberately made the motorcycle look that way.

It was all to stage an "accidental" crash.

When the "accident" happened, he could blame it all on the faulty motorcycle.

Lin Feng had driven over today.

The convention center had a dedicated parking lot.

However, it was in District B.

Lin Feng’s bidding conference was held in District A.

Between the two districts, there happened to be a road.

As Lin Feng was leaving the venue, he was quickly caught up by Du Hai and Tian Xiaowu.

The two of them were looking for Lin Feng because of matters related to the Cyan Mountain Town property.

The planning phase was now complete.

But the two of them were also core members of the entire project.

There were still many things they needed to discuss with Lin Feng.

"After I finish my exams, we’ll need to go to Cyan Mountain Town in a couple of days for an on-site inspection."

"If you two can clear your schedules, you’ll come on the business trip with me."

Lin Feng was talking to them while waiting at a traffic light.

The road wasn’t wide; it was more of a side street.

The convention center itself was on the outskirts of Yang City.

So there weren’t many people on this road.

Lin Feng was just about to lead the other two across the street.

Suddenly,

the ROAR of a motorcycle engine erupted.

Immediately after, a motorcycle barreled straight toward Lin Feng.
