Chapter 676: Chapter 543: I Will See the Young Lady Off One Last Time

A streak of snow-white light, wrapped in bone-chilling cold, lunged menacingly toward Xiao Mo.

Yet Xiao Mo didn’t even spare it a glance, his expression as placid as still water.

He held a white game piece, which he steadily placed on the board—the final move!

In that instant, clear ripples spread out from beneath Xiao Mo’s feet, one after another.

In the blink of an eye, Xiao Mo found himself standing in the middle of a pond.

Upon closer inspection, the pond seemed to be the very same lotus pond where Tushan Jing Ci, as a child, had been ambushed and fallen into the water along with Xiao Mo.

Within the lotus pond, the clear water suddenly surged upward, roiling and churning. In an instant, it coalesced into four lifelike human figures, identical to Jin’an, the Song Cultivator, Xin Xiao’er, and Chen Jue.

Merely flowers in a mirror, the moon in the water.

But it was enough.

The water-clones of the “Song Cultivator” and the others each unleashed techniques identical to their real counterparts, ruthlessly blasting away at their true bodies.

“BOOM!”

An earth-shattering explosion instantly echoed throughout the entire world within the painting.

With Xiao Mo and the others at its epicenter, a ferocious, tyrannical ripple of Spiritual Power erupted like a tidal wave, sweeping across the landscape.

Within the painting, several towering mountains were razed to the ground. Rushing rivers burst their banks, and murky floodwaters surged over the land, submerging and devouring vast swaths of territory.

When the violent ripples of Spiritual Power finally dissipated, Xiao Mo slowly drifted down from mid-air, landing softly on the ravaged ground.

His clothes were in tatters, and his face was ashen, drained of all color. His Spiritual Power was almost completely depleted, and he was holding on by a final thread of energy.

But the Song Cultivator and the others were in no better condition.

They too were grievously wounded, covered in blood, their Spiritual Power nearly exhausted.

The Song Cultivator never imagined that this young Cultivator, who had only just entered the Nascent Soul Realm a few days ago, could fight the four of them to a standstill.

“It seems you’re still a little short of being able to kill me.”

A faint smile touched Xiao Mo’s lips, but there was not a trace of triumph in his expression.

Even the Song Cultivator was momentarily dazed, wondering if his eyes were playing tricks on him. He thought he had caught a flicker of disappointment in Xiao Mo’s eyes.

A disappointment that seemed to say he regretted not dying at their hands.

Xiao Mo slowly drew a longsword and walked toward the four of them, one step at a time.

The longsword was merely an unremarkable Sixth Grade Spirit Sword, the kind one could buy in any ordinary neighborhood shop.

But in the eyes of the four cultivators, this plain, ordinary longsword seemed more terrifying than a fabled Immortal Soldier.

However, just as Xiao Mo raised the longsword high, about to bring it down viciously upon the four…

…in the main hall of the Yuzhu Secret Realm, the long-silent statue suddenly burst forth with a dazzling light, as brilliant as the scorching sun!

The cultivators still fighting a bloody battle in the hall also noticed the strange phenomenon. They all turned to look, their faces filled with shock and uncertainty.

The next moment, the statue’s light shot out, piercing straight in one direction.

Wherever the divine light passed, any Cultivator it touched was instantly obliterated, their body and soul erased from existence.

Then, the clear, high-pitched cry of a phoenix suddenly rang out in the hall, echoing endlessly.

The avian skeleton floating above the statue, as if suddenly coming to life, began to tremble violently.

Black flames erupted from every inch of the skeleton, burning brighter and brighter until they soared into the air and coalesced into a lifelike Yuzhu, which then sped off in pursuit of the golden divine light.

The divine light shot straight toward the painting scroll floating in the air.

In just a fraction of a second, the divine light pierced through the scroll.

Xiao Mo sensed something and jerked his head up, just in time to see a blindingly brilliant light roaring toward him.

Immediately after, Xiao Mo felt an intense heat all around him, as if the very air was on fire.

At the last possible moment, the Yuzhu formed from black flames threw itself in front of Xiao Mo with all its might.

But the divine light passed through the black-flame Yuzhu’s body without any resistance, and then pierced through Xiao Mo’s chest.

Already grievously wounded, Xiao Mo’s consciousness immediately blurred and faded under the force of this blow.

Waves of dizziness washed over him. He fell heavily to one knee, gasping for breath as cold sweat dripped from his brow like beads from a broken string.

Looking down, he saw the divine light had bored a bloody hole two fingers wide through his chest.

But in the next moment, the lingering black flames converged on Xiao Mo’s chest, filling the bloody hole layer by layer.

Xiao Mo could clearly feel the black flames trying with all their might to mend his wound.

But no matter how hard they tried, it was useless; the wound simply would not heal.

Although Xiao Mo didn’t know what had just happened, he could feel his Life Origin steadily draining away and knew he absolutely could not stay here any longer.

Because the scroll had been pierced and lost its function, Xiao Mo immediately transformed into a streak of light and shot out of the painting.

The people in the hall still didn’t know what had happened. By the time they realized, the man who had burst out of the scroll had already charged straight for the Demon Pill.

Cupping the water of the Yin River in his palm, Xiao Mo tried to use it to resist the searing heat radiating from the Demon Pill.
