Beating Instances through Words Left by the Dead
Chapter 972 - 409: Divinity and the Red Moon
Chapter 972: Chapter 409: Divinity and the Red Moon
Seeing the emblem of the Soul Light Sect, Han’er’s breath quickened, and his fist clenched tightly.
He was well aware of his physical status; with death approaching, few things could still anger him, and the Soul Light Sect was one of them.
When he formed the belief in becoming a Transcendent Gravekeeper, he began to forget the former Sirena.
The only thing he couldn’t forget was how the Soul Light Sect falsely treated seriously ill believers through the so-called resurrection miracle, essentially draining their life force and turning them into living corpses, making them into the wall bricks of the Soul Light Cathedral after death.
Among the victims turned into living corpses was his wife.
Every time he dreamt of his wife turning into a monstrous being, climbing out from the graveyard to be slain by his own hand that night, he would awaken from a nightmare.
Now, seeing the emblem of the Soul Light Sect again, he almost lost control of his emotions.
But reason told him he must endure, at least learn what the Soul Light Sect was planning before he took action.
The blazing flames turned into a door, and a young man pushed open the flaming door, appearing within the Divine Hall.
Wick covered his mouth with a handkerchief, coughed lightly twice, and then introduced to everyone:
"Before the miracle guiding ritual, the Power of Faith in the world could not accommodate the descent of a True God, but thanks to Chairman Thompson’s improvements, existing faith has opened a rift between this plane and the Upper Realm."
"This is White Wolf, the Divine Envoy of the Soul Light Sect. The God worried we could not complete the ritual, so He specifically sent the Divine Envoy to help us."
At the moment he saw White Wolf, Han’er’s heart skipped a beat.
The young man named White Wolf did not reveal an astonishing aura nor display formidable power, but the moment Han’er saw him, he instinctively felt a sense of submission, unable to muster the courage to oppose him.
Ever since Han’er saw through everything and wanted to abandon the extraordinary, his senses had become extraordinarily sharp. He sensed a unique aura from White Wolf.
That aura was similar to what he felt from Erin, yet somehow different.
He couldn’t quite articulate the specific difference, he only knew the other party was extremely dangerous and far from simple.
White Wolf approached Wick, his expressionless face swept over everyone’s faces, pausing slightly when his gaze fell on Han’er, he asked:
"Are you the Archbishop of the Eternal Light Sect?"
Han’er suppressed the hostility in his heart, answered humbly: "I once was."
White Wolf nodded slightly, asked nothing further, his gaze moved on, scanning the five of them, and softly said:
"None of you are useful."
White Wolf’s words instantly embarrassed the elders sitting at the table, leaving them at a loss.
Including Han’er, anger flickered in everyone’s eyes, not to mention that White Wolf was the Divine Envoy of the Soul Light Sect and not of their sect, even if he was, such arrogance was uncalled for.
Though their abilities were meager, their devoutness to the God was far beyond what this young man could compare!
Simmons from the Forest Sect, with his naturally fiery temper, was about to rise and reason with White Wolf on the spot.
But before he could act, White Wolf waved his hand, and a layer of silver light descended, enveloping the group.
Everyone felt a clear stream rush into their bodies, healing long-standing dark injuries and old ailments under the silver radiance.
Their waist was no longer sore, their legs no longer ached, and they were brimming with energy.
Especially Simmons, according to his familiarity with his own body, to rise forcibly, he would have to first stomp on the ground, tighten his waist and abdomen, then lean his entire upper body on the conference table, gather strength for two seconds, and exert force from arms, waist, and legs at once to rise from the chair.
But now, while his brain was waiting for the two seconds to gather strength, his body had already leapt up abruptly, and with a movement too big, the chair he had been sitting on toppled onto the floor.
White Wolf did not look at Simmons, extending his arms outward, a stream of air surged from within him, spraying outward, sweeping through the entire Sirena City.
Han’er and the others, being closest to White Wolf, were the first to feel the airflow; as it passed through their bodies, it rekindled the dried-up Extraordinary Power within them.
Under White Wolf’s abilities, the Extraordinary-depleted Sirena regained the Extraordinary.
After completing the transformation of all areas of Sirena, White Wolf retracted his open arms, finally turning to Simmons.
"Something to say?"
Having intended to rise and berate White Wolf, Simmons froze in place.
Feeling the change akin to a miracle brought by White Wolf, Simmons immediately declared loudly:
"You are correct, Divine Envoy, I am useless!"
White Wolf: "Noted."
Simmons sat down sheepishly, daring not to speak further, behaving particularly obediently.
After completing the preliminary preparations, White Wolf addressed the group:
"I have used Divine Power to stir the city’s remaining Power of Faith, temporarily restoring normalcy. By dusk, you’ll regain your status as Transcendents and wield your full power."
"I will give you assignments then, placing you at key nodes of the ritual to ensure the miracle ritual proceeds smoothly."
"This is your only value, don’t mess it up. Once the connection to the Divine Realm is reopened, the God you worship will be able to descend miracles through the passage."
Upon hearing White Wolf’s words, whether it be the five Archbishops at the conference table or Wick’s servants within the Divine Hall, their faces lit up with ecstatic expressions.
Only Han’er, his mouth was nearly pulled to the back of his head, yet there was no laughter in his eyes.
No, his gaze suddenly noticed that Wick, as the controller of Sirena, also had no laughter in his eyes, only a detached indifference of an observer.
