Chapter 1072: Chapter 442: Taboo_2

"Yes."

Wu Chang immediately wanted to continue asking how the World Dungeon was demoted, and whether the same method could be used to free the plane from the Abyss.

But before he could speak, the All-Knowing Crystal began to play dead, its light completely disappearing as it fell freely to the ground.

Wu Chang was quick to catch the All-Knowing Crystal. He looked at the crystal in his hand with some resignation, realizing that given its omniscient abilities, it must have guessed the questions he intended to ask.

Based on the All-Knowing Crystal’s behavior, he was momentarily unqualified to know the method of plane demotion.

The All-Knowing Crystal had its reasons for making such a judgment. Curiosity killed the cat—there was no need for him to court disaster.

He shook the crystal in his hand and said:

"Alright, stop playing dead. I’ll change the question. Regarding immortality fate..."

As soon as he uttered the words "immortality fate," he felt a sudden chill at the back of his neck.

Did the All-Knowing Crystal avoid his questions about plane demotion or the true nature of immortality fate?

Sometimes, being unable to answer is itself an answer, revealing many details.

If the All-Knowing Crystal answered the question about plane demotion and then played dead, then its refusal to answer the immortality fate question would still reveal partial information. But if neither question was answered, he couldn’t determine which one was the taboo.

Wu Chang hesitated for a moment, ultimately opting to abandon further questioning.

Whew, the Abyss was still too dangerous.

He exhaled, storing the All-Knowing Crystal back into his personal space, exchanged a glance with Erin, and proceeded into their respective paths.

Regardless of what demotion or the essence of immortality fate entailed, these were matters for later. For now, they needed to seize the Kaiyang Immortal Mansion and obtain the immortality fate first.

Wu Chang entered his chosen path, walked forward less than ten steps, and then looked back to find the path he had come from had vanished.

He continued onward, quickly arriving at the third challenge: Yi Pass, as described by An Rong.

A gust of chilly wind howled through the richly Spiritual Qi-filled Immortal Mansion, surprisingly bringing Demon Qi that rapidly displaced the Spiritual Qi.

The feeling of being constrained by Demon Qi appeared again, as seen when entering Cuixian County. Amidst the Demon Qi, four demons over five meters tall slowly appeared before Wu Chang.

One of the demons swung its tail, smashing the ground. Rocks and debris flew past Wu Chang’s ear with a sharp and piercing noise.

Wu Chang sighed. Though he wanted to act within the Immortal Mansion’s play, its master was rather unworthy. Yi Pass increased the realism of the Illusion Realm compared to Brave Pass, yet still couldn’t penetrate his Will Barrier.

Regardless of how the Kaiyang Immortal Mansion’s master managed to retain Demon Qi in the residence, the demons blocking his path were fake, simulated through Immortal Techniques.

Based on the situation and An Rong’s description, Wu Chang understood the pattern of Yi Pass.

Without accident, even if a participant defeated these demons conjured by array and Immortal Techniques, they would continually regenerate.

The correct way to pass involved both fending off demon attacks and scouting for suspicious areas, identifying Yi Pass’s exit, where errors in judgment could worsen the trial.

Though called a trial, it actually serves as a part of cultivator training. Had Wu Chang not acquired the Eternal Light Research Institute, Yi Pass could be used to train endurance.

However, now he only wanted to clear it swiftly.

Since Yi Pass’s core strategic Illusion Technique was ineffective against him and his arrangements exposed, numerous methods existed for clearance.

He proactively approached the four demons, snapped his fingers, and activated his Mystical Domain.

He acknowledged that in the large-scale array setup, the Spiritual Energy System held grandeur not found in Mysticism, but within smaller ranges and consciousness, Mysticism held an edge.

Upon confinement within the Mystical Domain, the array talisman within the four monsters cracked, leaving them frozen in place, claws extended.

Wu Chang bypassed the monsters, following the array setup forward, easily finding the exit and proceeding.

"You have completed the third trial of Kaiyang Immortal Palace and obtained a layer of Kaiyang Blessing."

"You have gained Yi’s Blessing. During the World Dungeon, your Endurance Attribute will increase by 5%, and demon aura’s influence on you will decrease by 5%."

Wu Chang clicked his tongue, silently noting that despite using this shortcut, he gained trial recognition and received Yi’s Blessing.

Could his shortcut choice fall within the trial’s acceptable judgments?

Just as he prepared to leave the third challenge, the dissipating demon aura behind him froze him in place.

This time, Yi Pass’s trial employed reverse Illusion Technique, aiming to deceive participants into believing everything mirrored Brave Pass as mere illusion.

Both demon aura and demons were unreal.

Yet, in Wu Chang’s eyes, the demon aura was true; it existed and transformed under some unknown force, blending into the Immortal Techniques animating the demons, turning into a peculiar "Immortal Qi" before vanishing.

Wu Chang swallowed hard—the demon aura actually interchangeable with Immortal Qi, used by immortals?

Was this revelation he witnessed inadvertently, or deliberate clues left by the Immortal Mansion master?

He couldn’t ascertain and wished to seek external assistance, yet the All-Knowing Crystal remained feigned insensible, ignoring his call.

Wu Chang watched toward the direction of the dispersed demon aura, instinctively smiling.

No wonder it’s a World Dungeon—there’s some intrigue.
