Chapter 1000: Chapter 418: Purification of the Surface_2

Wu Chang carefully read the Item Description; it said it would only take effect on non–Desolate Realm Abilities, and all his Abilities came from the Desolate Realm, so he didn’t need to worry.

Hou Jingchuan explained on the side:

"Lord Peace, the Faith Virus in your hand is the portion that needs to be transferred to Old Xu."

"All they need to do is have the senior who filmed that footage bring the Faith Virus back into that space again and bury it around the altar that connects to the World Dungeon. It will then establish a link with the Faith Virus we carry into the dungeon."

Wu Chang put the Faith Virus back into the metal box and took out the second item inside.

The second item looked less flashy; to the eye it was simply a red button.

『Item Name: Moment of Outbreak』

『Item Type: Special』

『Item Description: Detonates the Faith Virus, summons Abyssal Suppression, currently bound to a Faith Bomb.』

Wu Chang raised an eyebrow; no wonder the thing looked so familiar to him—its design was very similar to the nuclear detonation buttons in many movies.

He put the red button back, handling it gingerly, afraid of triggering it by accident.

Seeing Wu Chang stow away the metal box holding the two Items, everyone present let out a breath of relief.

At the moment, among the Players of the Desolate Realm, only Peace had the Ability to deliver the Faith Virus to the Realm of Reason; with him accepting the Faith Virus, the matter was already half done.

With the handover of the Faith Virus completed, Hou Jingchuan spoke again, moving on to the second matter.

"Regarding the Totem Organization purge from two days ago, that Bright Society envoy you captured—we’ve been trying these past two days to get more information out of him."

At the mention of that Bright Society envoy, the executives of the Four Major Organizations present all showed troubled expressions.

"According to his confession, there are a total of four pieces of Imaginary Divinity that Bright Society sent into the Desolate Realm this time."

"The captured envoy is only responsible for the Hati Divinity you mentioned; as for who transported the other three and to whom, he has no authority to know."

Sending four pieces of Imaginary Divinity into the Desolate Realm in one go—Bright Society was making a grand move. Even if all four were defective products, they were still genuine Divine Seeds, and the cost of producing them would not be low.

Right now only the Hati Divinity has been exposed, which means there are still three other pieces of Imaginary Divinity out there.

He looked at Hou Jingchuan and asked:

"The activation requirements for Imaginary Divinity are very high; not just any organization can pull it off. Do you have any leads on this?"

Hou Jingchuan sighed and said:

"Over these two days we’ve practically investigated every frontline organization in the Desolate Realm. Many well-known second-tier organizations have also been checked. There’s been no progress."

"Perhaps the ones they entrusted it to are Non-Reality Organizations."

Among the organizations formed by Abyssal Game Players, the game organizations liked to band together in reality like the Totem group, each carving out their own territory.

Some organizations, due to their nature or personnel issues, only gathered in the Crimson Courtyard and did not meet in reality—for example, the malignant Iron Armor Corps. In order to prevent one person’s arrest from dragging down the whole group, they function as a Non-Reality Organization.

As long as Non-Reality Organizations do not wish to be exposed, even the Four Major Organizations find it hard to determine their concrete influence, let alone identify their members’ identities in reality.

There were only three possibilities for where the other three pieces of Imaginary Divinity had gone.

The first was Non-Reality Organizations.

The second was Evil God Cultists in the Believer Circle.

The third was that the recipients were hiding themselves well enough to slip past the investigative methods of the Four Major Organizations.

After all, no matter how overbearing the Four Major Organizations were, they couldn’t drag all the senior members of every well-known tier-one and tier-two organization in for exhaustive interrogation based on mere suspicion.

No wonder the Four Major Organizations had been moving so aggressively in the Desolate Realm lately—it wasn’t just because of the Totem Organization, but also because of those three missing pieces of Imaginary Divinity.

Hou Jingchuan went on:

"Because of your earlier warning, Lord Peace, we’ve not dared to overly probe for intel related to Bright Society. Up until this morning, we learned only a bit more: those Divine Seeds sent into the Desolate Realm are linked to a certain quest in the World Dungeon. We hope you’ll keep an eye out."

Wu Chang still remembered that on the Midnight Graveyard Plane, Lei Huo had said a few extra words, and the Dark Thunder that Bright Society had planted in his body detonated. If Erin hadn’t been shielding him at the time, he would have capsized in the gutter and died in that attack.

Ever since entering the Abyssal Game, that had been the closest he’d come to Death; it was impossible to forget.

So when he handed the Bright Society envoy over to the Four Major Organizations, he had emphasized again and again not to directly ask about Bright Society. Once certain key intel was triggered, Bright Society could not only destroy the body from afar, but also severely injure the party conducting the interrogation.

Wu Chang said, "Understood. If we still haven’t found the whereabouts of the other three pieces of Imaginary Divinity by the time we enter the World Dungeon, I’ll keep an eye out inside."

Hou Jingchuan said, "We’re indebted to you, Lord Peace."

Wu Chang had thought that would be the end of it, but then Shi Ning, seated beside Hou Jingchuan, suddenly spoke:

"Lord Peace, aside from the Faith Virus, there’s actually one more thing we hope you can take to the Realm of Reason."

As he spoke, Shi Ning took out a palm-sized black box from his personal space and placed it in front of Wu Chang.

The black box looked entirely ordinary. Wu Chang picked it up, and no prompt appeared before his eyes; it seemed it was not an Item acknowledged by the Abyss.

He asked in puzzlement, "What is this?"

Shi Ning said, "In the recording Xu Dejun sent back, the Stalker in charge of filming broke through layer upon layer of restrictions to enter the space where Bright Society had constructed their altar."
