Beast Taming: the More the Better
Chapter 1232 - 506: Jianghai College! New Student Enrollment!
Chapter 1232: Chapter 506: Jianghai College! New Student Enrollment!
As soon as these words were spoken, many people’s eyes lit up.
Someone nearby quickly chimed in, "That’s right, I’m a Jianghai local, though I’m from Shuhua City. My family is somewhat acquainted with Breeder Sun from the Wolf Den. I heard from them that Breeder Sun couldn’t breed the Super-Rank Skill mastered by the Forest Wolf’s evolutionary body—the Wanmu Wolf from last year’s Breeder Competition.
"But according to him, Su Shen might very well teach it to his students!"
"Goodness, he’s delegating the breeding of a Super-Rank Skill to his students? If only I had the chance to become Su Shen’s student." Someone was green with envy.
This was only natural. The significance of mastering the breeding of a Super-Rank Skill went without saying—it meant status, wealth, and power.
"That’s why..." the young man who had originally started the topic spoke up. "I came to Jianghai half a month early. I didn’t come for anything else but to stay near the Heart of Myriad Spirits and rub shoulders with a few Breeders there. Hehe, so far, the results have been great. I’ve already added Breeder Guan as a friend."
His words naturally drew plenty of envious glances.
Some were envious, while others remained unfazed. Super-Rank Skills were not cheap cabbage. Could they really be bred just through networking? Resources, materials, wealth, and a Pet Beast with a matching talent—if even one was missing, who would breed it for you?
However, as the crowd chatted, an absolute uproar erupted near the entrance of the massive reception hall.
The commotion completely drowned out the conversations of the new enrollees, drawing everyone’s attention. The surging murmurs quickly revealed what was happening.
"Su Shen is here!"
At this news, many people instantly abandoned the long lines they had been waiting in and swarmed toward the door.
Sure enough, three figures appeared at the center of the bustling crowd.
One was Su Ping, who had largely vanished from mainstream media, only occasionally showing up in secretly recorded videos. The other two were the Dean of Jianghai College and the President of the Jianghai Beastmaster Association, Qin Erlong.
Facing the fiery, almost wolf-like gazes of the crowd, even Su Ping was taken aback.
He felt somewhat helpless. Ever since his professional assessment ended over two months ago, he had stated his intention to lower his public exposure.
He hadn’t expected things to still be like this.
With no other choice, he smiled and greeted the faces pressing in on him.
Seeing this, a bold young girl looked at the young man—who was actually around her age—and asked, "Su Shen, what Pet Beast was fighting the Paper God in the video released by the Heart of Myriad Spirits yesterday? Is it a new one you bred?"
Her question instantly quieted the chaotic crowd, and Su Ping answered, "That’s right. It’s the Second Stage Evolution of the Flame-Eating Crow, called the Chaos Watch Crow!"
"That evolutionary body is so powerful! Are the breeding requirements high?" the young girl flushed and asked again.
Su Ping nodded. "Very high. The resources required are extremely complex. Plus, since it’s a Second Stage Evolution, it requires the Flame-Eating Crow to undergo a first-stage evolution before it can be bred!"
Clearly, some were interested in this, while others were not. Seeing that this peer of theirs put on no airs, someone else hurriedly asked, "Su Shen, how many times a week will you be lecturing at the college?"
As soon as this was asked, both Qin Erlong and former Vice President Xu—who was now serving as the first Dean of Jianghai College—looked toward Su Ping.
This was the main reason they had brought Su Ping along on a whim to see the new students.
Su Ping thought for a moment before replying, "I’m not completely sure about that yet. If I have free time or come up with some new, interesting ideas, I’ll visit the college. When the time comes, please be sure to show your support, my brothers and sisters."
His address of "brothers and sisters" undoubtedly made many of the students his age puff out their chests with pride.
Beside him, Qin Erlong and the current Dean Xu also kept their eyes on Su Ping.
Standing slightly behind, Dean Xu couldn’t help but sigh to Qin Erlong, "I really don’t know how this kid is wired. It’s one thing to be exceptional at breeding and meditation, but now even..."
Qin Erlong shot him a glare, prompting Dean Xu to bite back the rest of his words. However, Qin Erlong felt exactly the same way.
Su Ping was neither arrogant nor impetuous. He was gentle and steady. Though occasionally a bit flashy, it was nothing for a young man who had achieved such heights.
If it weren’t for the fact that even the Holy Dragon had acknowledged him, the two of them would have had every reason to suspect that Su Ping had been possessed by some Undead Pet Beast using a special method.
In no mood to care about the inward grumbling of the two old men, Su Ping was already mingling easily with his peers.
"Su Shen, the Heart of Myriad Spirits is so massive, but only the Forest Heart and Heart of Water are open right now. When will the rest of the areas open? I’m already prepared to skip the school dorms and just rent a place with you for the whole year!"
Naturally, Su Ping didn’t mind this opportunity for free advertising.
"Soon. In a few days, the Heart of Soul will open first! The Heart of Soul primarily serves as a habitat for Undead Pet Beasts and will be open in the format of a haunted house adventure! I personally arranged many of the scenes and selected the Pet Beasts!
"If you’re interested, you can come over and support it. Oh, right. There will be some special events for its grand opening. If you complete the exploration quests during the event and rank high enough, you’ll receive rich rewards from the Heart of Myriad Spirits!" Su Ping said with a beaming smile.
"What kind of rewards? Will there be autographed photos of you, Su Shen?"
"Forget autographed photos! Will there be Pet Beasts personally bred by you, Su Shen?"
The overlapping flurry of questions threw the scene into chaos once more. However, Su Ping’s minor personal objective had been achieved.
"You’ll know when you go and see for yourselves," he replied. "But I do have one request: do not let it interfere with your studies at the Advanced College. Jianghai Advanced High School was established with the goal of catching up to the Eight Great Academies of the Dragon Nation.
"As the first batch of students, my brothers and sisters, you are its mainstays. Don’t let a small distraction ruin the bigger picture!"
He advanced and retreated with ease, striking the perfect balance between casual and serious.
Despite his graceful exit, the fiery enthusiasm of the crowd left Su Ping’s back drenched in sweat by the time he left the reception hall.
Speechless, he followed the two old men, who were stifling their laughter, back to the office building.
Slumping onto the sofa, Su Ping immediately regretted accepting Qin Erlong’s sugar-coated bullets and taking on this job.
On the other hand, Qin Erlong and Dean Xu were clearly accustomed to such scenes and showed no signs of fatigue.
However, the two weren’t in a hurry to force Su Ping to commit to a date for his first lecture. Qin Erlong shot Dean Xu a meaningful look, and after the latter tactfully left the room, Old Qin finally smiled and said, "Alright, alright. The students were just fired up! You’re the benchmark for the younger generation now; you have to be prepared for this sort of thing."
Su Ping waved him off. "Fine, fine. If there’s nothing else, I’m heading out. I’m not attending that bothersome freshmen orientation assembly."
"Hold on, don’t rush," Qin Erlong said hurriedly. "Did you really think I only brought you here to show your face? Don’t you want your items?"
Items?
Su Ping paused, then suddenly realized what he meant. "Sang Sheng sent the resources over?"
"You rascal, your eyes practically turned green with greed the second you heard about this, didn’t they?" Old Qin chuckled before nodding in confirmation.
Previously, upon returning from Dianzang, the conditions requested by Biyao Chunshen had called for some entirely new resources.
While not quite on the level of the Elixir of Immortality, they were still incredibly precious—several Holy Spirit Level Resources, to be exact.
Too embarrassed to keep acting like a beggar asking the Breeder Association headquarters for handouts, Su Ping had proposed a direct exchange.
He offered to trade the equally priceless Poison Type Holy Spirit Level Resources he had obtained from Situ Feng’s inheritance.
However, even at the Breeder Association headquarters, those specific resources were exceedingly rare. After going around in circles, Su Ping set his sights on Sang Sheng again.
As a bona fide wealthy woman, she truly lived up to her reputation as one of the Spirit Saint Level existences who managed her Beast Taming Space the best.
Even such demanding requirements had actually been met. In that case, this trip hadn’t been in vain!
Joyfully accepting the Space Ring from Old Qin, Su Ping verified the resources inside and let out a satisfied breath.
Now, he could finally give Biyao Chunshen a proper answer.
