Beast Taming: I Have an Immortal Mansion

Chapter 648 - 442: Post-war Aftermath (Part 3)

At present, Fang Qingyuan still didn’t know that Purple Crystal Spirit Fish had a special evolutionary effect on Water Beasts. These fish were, after all, incredibly rare. If a Cultivator managed to obtain one, they would be reluctant to even eat it themselves—why would they ever think of feeding it to their Spirit Beast?

Moreover, a small number of Spirit Fish wouldn’t have a noticeable evolutionary effect on a Water Beast. Only a massive quantity of them could awaken the deepest, hidden layer of its bloodline.

As for Nanli, Fang Qingyuan didn’t hold out much hope. After all, Nanli was a fire-attribute beast whose upper limit was only the Golden Core realm. Plus, she had eaten the least, so the probability of her successfully advancing to Golden Core was slim.

But it didn’t matter. Fang Qingyuan had never had high expectations for Nanli. For a War Beast, Jinbao was all he needed.

After confirming that all three Spirit Beasts were sound asleep, Fang Qingyuan instructed the Bee Queen to watch over them carefully and report to him immediately if anything happened. He then turned his gaze to the million-mu of Spirit Fields, and a plan began to form in his mind.

Currently, the entire million mu of Spirit Fields were planted with Spirit Rice. Although Spirit Rice was a staple in the Cultivation Realm and would always sell, the truth was that after Fang Qingyuan advanced to the Fifth-Layer Golden Core, several hundred thousand more mu of Spirit Fields had been added to his Immortal Mansion. Fang Qingyuan hadn’t had time to plan for this new land yet.

Furthermore, his cultivation level would only increase in the future, meaning the amount of Spirit Fields would grow as well. However, the market for Spirit Rice had a ceiling. He couldn’t just keep planting Spirit Rice on all the new Spiritual Land he acquired.

At this moment, Fang Qingyuan recalled the Celestial Zhe Wood Silkworms he had once raised. ’Perhaps,’ he thought, ’it’s time to get into some higher-end cash crops.’

’Plant a million mu of mulberry trees, raise ten million silkworms, and weave hundreds of thousands of bolts of silk.’

’Compared to Spirit Rice, silk is incredibly valuable. A dou of Spirit Rice sells for one Low-grade Spirit Stone, but a single bolt of silk would be priced in Middle-grade Spirit Stones.’

’Silk has many uses—crafting dharma robes, banners, clothes, bedding, and other textiles all require it. Plus, silk requires less space for transportation, so it can be exported far and wide: to the western Desert of Death, and to the incredibly wealthy Qi Yun.’

Spirit Rice, on the other hand, couldn’t even make it out of the White Mountain Territory. Therefore, planting mulberry trees, raising silkworms, and weaving silk was certain to become the Qingyuan Sect’s most profitable venture for the future.

Having come to this realization, Fang Qingyuan wasted no time. He went out, found Liu Xun, and tasked him with searching for various species of mulberry trees and breeds of silkworms for a selection process.

Then, he summoned Qiqi and the other Bear Beasts, and together they went to the cave where Bear Wind was diligently cultivating and stepped inside.

Inside the rather crude cave, Bear Wind was in deep meditation. At this moment, he wasn’t absorbing Spiritual Qi to cultivate, but was focused on refining the Primordial Chapter within his body.

The Spiritual Qi contained within the Qingyuan Sect’s current Spiritual Land was completely insufficient for Bear Wind’s cultivation. If Bear Wind wanted to continue progressing, he would need to find a Fourth-rank Spiritual Land.

Sensing Fang Qingyuan enter with the others, Bear Wind opened his eyes. His massive body rose, exuding an inexplicable sense of pressure.

"Is it time?"

Fang Qingyuan nodded. "Today is the day we settle our grudge. Hao Shi will not see tomorrow’s sun. So I wanted to invite all of you to witness this moment."

Bear Wind opened his great maw and laughed heartily. "I knew I wasn’t wrong about you, Fang Qingyuan! You actually did it. As long as Hao Shi pays with his life, the lives of Qiqi and the others are yours to command."

Hearing Bear Wind’s promise, Fang Qingyuan felt a surge of excitement. Their initial alliance had been a mere formality; this was the moment their two sides truly began to trust one another.

"Thank you for your trust, Brother Xiong. I believe that all of our futures will only get better and better from here on out."

"I certainly hope so. Let’s go. I can’t wait to see that brat’s blood."

And so, under the cover of night, Fang Qingyuan led the way. With one Nascent Soul and five Golden Cores—the entire high-end fighting force of the Qingyuan Sect—they departed from the sect and headed into the Barbaric Wilderness.
