It didn’t take long for half of the hostiles that were guarding the hostages in the courtyards near the entrance to lose control over their bodies. They fell to the ground, whimpering soundly in the dirt without triggering a single alarm.

Hunter unstrapped his blades, his eyes gleaming. "Alright, my turn." He looked at Zyra, his voice softening just a fraction. "Be careful out there, wifey. If you meet a target, you can’t take out, scream my name."

He released Tyrant and climbed onto the back of the tiger. Taking down Julia would not be a walk in the park after all. They had to use all of their advantages.

Zyra gave him a playful wink. "Save some fun for me."

Hunter smirked, motioned to the strike force behind him, and raced toward the back entrance, to save the hostages and clear out the paralyzed hostiles.

Zyra teleported herself and Elfy directly to the Southern part of the town, landing softly a short distance from one of the tents that had been raised by the sanctum soldiers.

She and her beasts appeared right on time. A terrified young woman was being pushed toward the scorching yellow sand at gunpoint by a group of laughing soldiers.

"Move! Step on the sand!" Commander Roman sneered, shoving the man another inch closer to the dangerous dunes. "After all, you don’t want to live in a world where the Divine Maiden rules, right? We are giving you what you want. You should be grateful to us."

There was a long line of shivering hostages behind him, all waiting for their turn to be played with like toys.

Zyra huffed, her eyes cold. "Barbaric! No wonder they want Trinity to be ruler such that they continue tormenting others without paying the consequences for their actions." She muttered under her breath.

Stepping forward with a loud heel click, Zyra used fast steps to get to the front of the line. She smiled slyly and waved at the soldiers. "Hello, not gentlemen. Having ourselves a little taunt the saw worm fun are we?"

The soldiers froze, completely spooked. They raised their guns and other weapons, aiming frantically toward her.

"Where did you come from?" Commander Roman bark.

Zyra casually strolled in and out of their sight using fast steps, laughing as though the weapons in their hands were nothing more than toys. She was like a ghost, going between the light and shadows.

"Holy crap! It’s Zyra Scorpion!" one of the men yelled. The soldiers gripped their weapons tightly, their knuckles turning white.

Julia walked over slowly, dusting off her armor. She chuckled in a dark, sarcastic tone and waved her hand. "Lower your weapons, boys."

Zyra stopped playing games, and she stood still, same sly smile on her lips.

Julia stopped in front of her, staring at Zyra with an amused sneer. "For a little girl, you sure have caused us a mountain of trouble. You are truly your mother’s daughter. Both of you don’t know your place."

Zyra nodded politely, looking completely relaxed. "Well, daughters are supposed to inherent their mother’s ways, aren’t they? I mean Soul maidens inherit their bloodlines and abilities from their mothers. How about a deal, Julia? You take me, and your army leaves the Wild Lands alone."

Julia laughed out loud. "I can’t do that, sweetie. My boss always gets what she wants, and right now, she wants the wild lands. The fact that you were able to cause trouble in this cursed place is all the more reason why it needs to be under our control."

"Ah, but what Trinity really wants is me, not this dusty desert that doesn’t benefit her. You can’t build a Sanctum temple over Saw worm territory. No believer is going to march all this way to worship your Saintess, Trinity." Zyra countered smooth as silk.

Reaching up to her neck, Zyra ripped off the compass she had used to fool Ocean and tossed it straight at Julia’s feet. "There. That’s the compass that shows where the dungeons are. It was my mother’s big secret, and my inheritance. I’m not interested in dungeon hunting anyway, so I am willing to part with it for a fee. Be warned, that thing is like a curse_ just look at how many people have died because of it." She reached in the beast pocket and took out an ordinary knife and tossed it to her as well. "That is my mother’s weapon."

Julia picked the knife, it had small Resonance Stones on it, a green hue and gave off an unfamiliar energy. It did look like Zena’s spear. "I thought it was a spear."

Zyra shrugged. "It is many things. I am not a Soul maiden, so I don’t know. Just tell me how much you are offering for those things."

Julia snatched the compass off the ground as well, her eyes gleaming with greed before she let out another sarcastic laugh. "Not a dime. I can’t believe how stupid you are, to give up all of your leverage. And here I was, thinking you were as smart as your mother. Now that I have these, little girl, you’re officially useless."

Without warning, Julia whipped out her sidearm and fired a dozen shots straight into the yellow sand behind Zyra.

"Goodbye Zyra Scorpion, greet mommy for me." Julia said as she pulled out her phone, holding it up to record video. "I love a good death," She smirked in victory. "The Divine Maiden is going to love watching you get eaten alive!"

The sand violently trembled. The ground beneath Zyra cracked open, and not just one, but three massive Saw Worms burst through the surface, slithering toward her with wide mouths ready to swallow her whole.

Julia and her men were laughing, waiting to see her torn to pieces.

Zyra didn’t move an inch. In fact, she was trembling, as if she was frightened.

The lead worm reared up, opening its disgusting jaw right over Zyra’s head.

Zyra stopped trembling, placed a hand on her hip and glared up at the monster. "Stop moving and close your disgusting mouth right now! Have you not eaten enough today?!"

To everyone’s absolute shock, the forty-foot Saw Worm stopped. Its tiny eyes blinked, and it slowly, obediently snapped its mouth shut, whimpering like a scolded puppy.

Inside her head, Zyra quickly spoke to the system, "System, give me a beast treats. Fast!"

Giant, sweet-smelling golden meatballs materialized in her palm. Zyra tossed them up, and the worm caught them mid-air, swallowing it in one big gulp.

Zyra reached up, patted the terrifying creature’s slimy nose, and smiled. "Good boy."

Julia froze. Her soldiers stood frozen. Everything went dead quiet.

"W-What on earth is happening?!" a guard stammered, dropping his sword.

Commander Roman gasped, rubbing his eyes. "Why is that ferocious mindless beast not eating her?! Did she just_ instruct a saw worm?"

Zyra looked around at their horrified, confused faces and gave them a bright, dazzling smile. With a light jump, she leaped onto the head of the giant Sand Worm, grabbing its antenna like horse reins.

"Giddy-up!" she yelled cheerfully.

The worm let out a happy screech and began zooming around the courtyard in circles, taking Zyra on a grand parade while the other two worms did goofy backflips in the sand.

While the Sanctum soldiers were completely paralyzed by this bizarre circus show, the walls behind them broke.

"Attack!" Hunter roared.
