Beast Bonding System: Cutting Ties In A Post Apocalyptic World.
Chapter 334: Jackpot of rewards.
They headed downstairs to the kitchen. Hunter quickly whipped up a plate of hot food and handed it to her. Just as Zyra reached out to take it, a crisp, electronic voice suddenly blasted directly into her brain.
[Ding! Host, due to the successful completion of the mission, you can collect your promised rewards!]
Zyra froze mid-reach.
[Rewards include: 5 Evolution Pills, a High-Level Resonance Lake in the Beast Dominion, a Beast Shelter of your choosing, and one month of unlimited access to the System Shop! ]
Zyra’s eyes lit up like a kid in a candy store. She grabbed the plate from Hunter and grinned ear to ear. "Sweet! Oh plus 2 blank cheques. Beauty do not try to rip me off. Otherwise, I will drag those beasts back to Grimmark!"
[Don’t you dare threaten me Host...I was getting there. You do have two blank cheques.] Beauty said with a lot of regret for all the extravagant rewards that had been given. A moment of desperation had truly led to a disaster.
"Good."
[But, since I saved your man from dying.....]
Zyra put the fork down with a loud thud. "Beauty I dare you to try and cheat me." She had already been anticipating this. It was not in Beauty’s bones, or algorithm to be honest.
A laughing emoji appeared on the screen in her head. [Got you! Your rewards remain, but your points don’t.]
Zyra let out a heavy sigh and lowered her head.
Hunter raised an eyebrow, staring at her. "Is everything alright? What did Beauty do this time?"
"Let us just enjoy our food." Zyra said as she put a fork full in her mouth."I got some pretty good rewards for the mission..."
[Ding! You have received 500,000 Resonance Points and a free increase in your attributes!]
"Ohh!" Zyra covered her lips and smiled.
[Because you saved so many beasts, your Resonance Level has shot up to 75%. You have unlocked skill: Resonance Burst. You can now command Mid-Level Beasts and communicate with all mutated beasts telepathically.]
Zyra made a victorious fist. "Yes!"

Zyra stared at the status panel floating in her head, her lips twitching into a wide, triumphant smirk. This mission was a total jackpot! she thought, feeling ridiculously pleased with herself. Way better than I expected! Who knew saving a bunch of beasts would turn me into an absolute lucky fella overnight?
Hunter looked at her strange, mischievous expression and slowly pushed a cup of water toward her. "Zyra, why are you smiling like a villain who just successfully stole the world’s last stash of gold? What did you get?"
"Evolution Pills for a start," Zyra answered smugly, "I don’t need to go out searching for ingredients to evolve my beasts anymore. One pill can do the job."
Hunter was dumbfounded, he did not know how that was even possible. A beast evolution pill! This was the first in history. He was quite sure that Achilles would convulse when he heard the news. "I am very happy for you. You know I feel like we should not have left the energy stones on the King Beast bird..."
"We didn’t, Beauty took them all. The wings, the body...everything." Zyra smirked. "As if I would leave such treasures behind. I plan to give some to the team that we went on the mission with."
Hunter patted her head. "See! This is why you have my heart. You are just too considerate."
Zyra chuckled and continued to eat.
The clatter of Zyra’s fork hitting the empty plate was the loudest sound in the room. She leaned back, patting her stomach with deep satisfaction. Food always fixed her mood, at least until her brain decided to reboot and remember reality.
"Oh," Zyra said, blinking rapidly as a sudden thought struck her. "Beauty what about the dead guys I threw in the domain? They have not resurrected, right?"
[Keep dreaming. The bodies have been successfully interred within the eastern woods of the dominion. Over time, their organic matter will decompose and serve as high-nutrient fertilizer for the local flora.]
Zyra’s mouth fell open. "You turned them into tree manure?"
[Correct. That is how they will pay for their sins.]
Zyra squinted at the air, genuinely lost for words. "I mean... I guess you have a point."
The warmth of the meal and the weight of the day finally caught up with her. A big, jaw-cracking yawn overtook her face, ending in a high-pitched squeak. Her eyes watered, and her eyelids suddenly felt like they were made of rocks.
"That’s it," Hunter said, stepping over. "You’re done."
"I’m not done," Zyra slurred, trying to sit up straighter. "I want to talk to the farming team."
Before she could protest any further, Hunter leaned down, slid one arm behind her back, another under her knees, and scooped her right out of the chair.
"Hey! Unhand me, you brute," she mumbled, though she didn’t actually fight him. Instead, her arms instinctively wrapped around his neck, her hands curling into the back of his shirt. "Put me down. I have other arrangements to make, like dealing with the Duggar, Clifford and all my messy exes families."
Hunter carried her out of the dining area and headed down the hallway toward the bedroom. "Zyra, I finished off your ex fiances and I crippled their family businesses long time ago."
This was the best news she had heard all day. If she had the strength to laugh and dance, she would have done so immediately.
"Why am I not surprised," She rested her forehead against the side of his neck. "It feels good to have someone look out for me."
"I will always do that." Hunter adjusted his grip, walking with soft, deliberate steps so he wouldn’t jar her. "You did good today, wife."
"Mmm..." she hummed softly. "I am worried about Red Sun, he is so sad."
Hunter rolled his eyes. She worried about the most useless things. "Taylor is not dead, the monkey will be back to salting bananas tomorrow."
By the time Hunter kicked open the door to the bedroom, the heavy, rhythmical sound of soft snoring was already echoing against his collarbone. He looked down at her face, completely relaxed and devoid of any worry, and couldn’t help the small, affectionate smile that slipped past his defenses.
"Good night, dear wife." he whispered, gently lowering her onto the bed.
